I got my brackets and guard installed last weekend. I want to add that I thought my drive motors on my AGT L15 had four studs instead of bolts holding the drive motors. I found that the "studs" are just bolts installed from the back side. I was able to just push them back out of the way and weld my guard/brace together for the install. Thanks again for the work Cam.
Great idea Cam to protect the motors an additional thought would be to add removealde plates to cover the hydraulic hoses so they don't get snapped off keep up the r&d and your videos are very informative keep it up
For those with studs instead of bolts use the idea for extendable tracks but remove an inch or so from the bar. Welding the bar to the brackets will prevent the bar from rubbing paint from drive motor lowering the rust factor.
The cross bar needs to be a lot higher to protect the hoses and motor hose fittings, but low enough for the "house" to clear when it swings. Still glad I imported a Komatsu PC02-1a from Japan.. Much better build quality.

I would have never thought the whole track could get bent like that. i was never worried about the motor housing cause there so thick but seeing that picture scares me about the track frame. This i can probably make up now I've seen how you did it. But i would be interested in a high lift boom kit if you feel like designing one of those.
I have a chery unit with the smaller type drive motors and little different undercarriage. Do you know if the bolt holes will line up? What are the bolt spacing center to center so I csn see if this would work?
You could also add a ball hitch to the crossbar to tow something like small dump trailer. Load up brush, small logs or whatever, rotate 180° and fill the trailer.
Of all the 12-13 HP minis I've looked at, (Qh, H, FF, and L12) I noticed that the L-12 has a robust, adjustable ROPS, a nice counterweight, and a fan-cooled hydraulic fluid cooler. All things considered, I find these attributes superior. I'd like your thoughts on this machine, and given the same gpm's ,hp, and drive motors, would you agree?

I want the flat faced couplers to fit on my H12 but wanna get it right the first time and you could do a video on hydraulic fluid after adding a larger attachment like an auger which is what i want. I have the auger but havent used it yet and I am gonna assume I have to add fluid..?
I placed my order for the brackets and the Hydraulic gauge today. My drive motors have the studs. My unit is the L15 (new model of the H15) I guess I should check with you about the hole spacing. I assume the drive motors are the same on the 12 & 15's. Just like to check before you ship them. Please help make sure they will fit.

@@thegarageconnection The bolts they put in the qh12s are not big enough for the blade, they are all thread bolts and wobble a TON so its something that is going to wear very fast. I have a video of the slop and pictures of the bolts in it now if your interested in seeing it
@thegarageconnection That's not a bad idea either, but I think you could incorporate a tie down design into the motor brackets and still have a 3 piece brace design with end plates that could be cut out on a water jet or plasma table. You could sell them as an upgraded version or for customers who don't weld. I do weld, and I'd buy a set like that just for the cleaner design.

Just so you are aware, if you need to replace the tracks, they are the same as what you will find on a Kubota K008-3G.
Another good video Cam. 100 bucks is a fair price to keep from doing damage to the drive motors.

Awesome idea and a very fair price. You could also 3-D print a template of the bracket to sell for DIY people.

My bolt center measures 131mm or 5.140"
Also I don't have 1 1/2" from my drive motors flange and the back of the mounting plate. And my distance between plates is 28 5/8".
Gary I sent you an email. The bolt holes are the same, and you ordered just the brackets without the square tube just to confirm.

Have you thought about Instead of cutting those motor brackets into trapezoids, squaring off one side and cutting tie down points into it?
People are telling me that they just weld on a couple of the ring mounts to the flat bar
