Converting the 1979 Iron Head Sportster to Electronic Ignition using Rawhide Cycles electronic ignition module. This was an easy upgrade to the old iron head sportster.
And here all these years i thought i was the only one who saved old socks, shirts etc... as shop rags!! The Mrs is always telling me to throw them away, but i sneek them out to the garage :)
@@bigrednick100 its real easy. tatro has vid on it eye tink. search it. only diff is ya squeak da timing mark ahead to 45° insteada 40°. how we did it on my 79 anyway. ✌
Had a chance at an old Ironhead from a Car Dealership a few months ago. They didn't even know what it was or how to get it running. Unfortunately I didn't have an extra $700 at the time.
@clydecare I think we bought the tank from JP Cycles. It’s in a old catalog that I have called a Indian Larry “Dished Gas Tank”. They have a 3 gallon and a 31/2 gallon.
I tried to watch this with sound but you keep blasting my eardrums unexpectedly with music that is much louder than your voice. I managed to watch it with the sound turned off. I also have a Sporty of roughly the same year so I thought I could learn something.
Sorry about the sound. I got a copy right strike from RUclips and had to redo the video after I published it. Really appreciate you putting up with it and continuing to watch it.

I’ve really never bought a lot of rags. 🤪
I have old socks for rags, they work.
Finally! A man thinking about the cost of brakeclean and knows how to use it. Good for you sir! Job well done.
Great job, I just got a 1974 XLH from an estate sale, love it. Have a blessed week my friend.
Thanks!

You have a bushel of common sense. Nice to meet you.
Thanks for the kind words 😎
Boss I need a link to that coil bracket, I have been looking for that bracket.
I’m not sure where the coil bracket came from. You might try JP Cycle.
@@dubsgarage appreciate the help boss
Great video! Thinking of putting a rawhide in my ‘84. Any updates? How’s it been so far? Thanks!
Thanks for watching. It’s been running great so far no issues.
What bike is the tank from? How many gallons?

so this kit is to make a kick start bike turn into a push start? if so, where can i get it?
No, this is an electronic ignition that replaces the points.
7 grand for the bike?
Thanks, but not looking to sell it. It was my cousin’s and since he has passed on it’s the only thing I have to remember him by. 🍻
