Kim's Rude Awakening - From Season 1 Episode 11 "The Gabourys": The basement is disorderly, every surface is covered with stuff, and Mom’s piles of paperwork are scattered throughout the home.
That’s where domestic diplomats - Kim Woodburn and Mike Chalut come in. They vow to create a foolproof storage system, turn chaos into order, and get the Gabourys to play as a team… But can they motivate them to get started?
After a role reversal proves the family needs to change their ways, Kim and Mike get down to work. Mike gets the kids to organize their basement playroom… And Kim offers Dad some much-needed deodorizing tips.
The Gabourys are determined to eradicate the mess for good… And as a final test, Mom must consolidate her collectables, Dad must clear out the storage closet, and the whole family must pitch in for a major clean. Emotions are running high… Can they pull it all together in time?

Nobody will remember if their house was always clean and tidy when you grow up, but we crossed the line to can’t have people over here and that is also something you will remember from your childhood and it’s hard to clean when you never learned how to.
I would use single socks for the charcoal deodorizer. The laundromats always have a bin of those ! Stuff a couple charcoal cubes in a sock and use a rubber band to tie it up!
The face that the dad pulled when Kim was talking about placing charcoal in the hockey gear had me rolling 😂😂

it looks great, but upstairs I would have gone a different colour then that brown, it makes the rooms look dark & smaller, & everything is shades of brown...

White school chalk put in, around or in silver chest and jewelry boxes soaks up moisture that causes tarnish to any metal.

Well, rather step over a pile of whatever when entering the home instead of investing 5 minutes to put that stuff in a proper place, shows that those people probably should have never had kids in the first place.

The dad though..... He makes mess and shows his kids that it's ok. Then he whines because cleaning is no fun. Instead of decluttering with his family he jumps to the more interesting part of painting a wall. And in the end he has the audacity to act as if he has done anything and even claims he is a clean person.
I love Kim's suggestions. When ti comes to people, how on earth women who cannot keep her house decent can be a project manager?! Being a project manager requires being organised, I mean what is so difficult with vacuum cleaning?! I would never hire person who cannot keep house clean

I'm only 4 minutes in and I'm not liking the Dad. He does not seem like a good partner to his wife, who seems VERY worn out with the situation., Dad is not setting a good example for his sons. They have a huge house and there has to be somewhere for the hockey gear to go other than 10' in the front door when they come home. Hmmm, gonna make some popcorn and continue watching. I know this much....Kim will NOT put up with any of the Dad's BS.
EDIT: Coming back at minute 19 to say Dad may have redeemed himself (I still don't think he appreciates his wife enough)
