I was going to do Sophia before I started but I believe that if you were able to complete your degree in one term then why can't I! Thank you for making this video! Good luck in your endeavors.
Btw, its ok to spend more than six months. This expectation actually leads to a lot of issues with many of the program mentors who deal with students having false hopes for how easy or fast this degree is. The disparity in expectations has led to people dropping out. You did a speed run. Unfortunately a lot of folks will interpret this as a get-rich-quick scheme, which is kinda fair considering how many influencers push this program as a get-rich-quick scheme. Thanks for doing this vid! I wanted to do the BSCS, but think I'll go with BSIT because it has fewer certs to work on & slightly less course work. How did you manage all the BSCS certs. Were they difficult?

I’m in progress to enroll and saw this video. So, I’d say 18 months for me I have 0 experience and no background I’m in IT I just completed a course in FULL STACK DEVELOPMENT going into cyber so we will see how it goes for me . How did you apply for the scholarship?
I'd be interested to know how the job market has been since obtaining your degree because what I'm seeing is that it's pretty bad. Thanks for the video!
When you get the certifications with WGU do you take the class and then go and take the certification? Or can you just take the certification? How does that work?
It's the same as any other class in WGU. You can try it without completing any assignments in the class associated with the certification. If you pass you get the cert and move on to the next course. If you fail they'll make you do the class before you can take it again.
As long as you keep passing the classes. Your program mentor likely won't let you have more than 4 classes open at a time, but as you pass them, your mentor will allow you to open new ones and start them. As fast as you can pass them is as fast as you can get your degree.
For that one, check out ABC E-learning's app for the A+ certification. You can watch professor Messer's series for free on RUclips if you want, or Jason Dion's series on Udemy through your WGU account.
I love how no one is mentioning that he had EXPIERIENCE... Realistically with no experience, as someone who just enrolled in the program.... If you study 3-4+ hours on the certs being A+ , Network+, Security+, Project+, CySA+ it will take you no shorter than 8-9 months. The rest of the course will probably be done in 2-3 hours a day at the end of each cert studying method. So after that, that is around 4-7 hours of studying a day, with gaming breaks, and a 2-3 hour break in between...... It will take you 1 year at the bear minimum. This is if you want to understand the entire program and be proficient in each subject. This is not meant for someone who isn't a problem solver, who gets hot-headed over a simple issue. The fact is that this degree is hard, and you need to be committed. Personally I am finishing 4-5 classes a term plus 1-2 certs which can equal about 6-8 classes a term Meaning I can finish in around 1.5 years or 2. Because I plan to make projects, study well. Finish what I know and learn what I can. 6 months is with experience. 2 years is without experience. For the vets out there, use VR&E OR CHAPTER 31 TO PAY FOR THIS SCHOOL AND THEN USE THE POST 9/11 TO GET A MASTERS!! GOOD LUCK AND SEE YOU IN 2 YEARS.
Everyone is different. Just cause you feel like you aren’t a fast leaner and need a year doesn’t invalidate his experience or his learning capability of finishing in 6 months.
Are completing the certifications a part of the exams you need to pass in order to graduate ? Also i have the CySa+ will that count as credit and how much ?
How were you able to pass the general education courses if you had no previous college courses to transfer? (Health, American Politics, Prob & Stat, Algebra, Natural Science Lab, etc). You were able to take those entire college courses in just a few days each?
@@M_santana26 you can't technically test your way out of a class. However, there is no required amount of material to take before your first attempt at the assessment at the end of a course. If you pass it, you pass the course and move onto the next one. If you fail, your instructor will give you a required amount of material to go through to get your next attempt. That usually means completing the entirety of the course material.
I'm starting in Oct. I have transferred credits from my Associates, and I"m somewhat computer savy, though no experience with pen testing or cyber security. Would I also be able to finish in one term?
I'm trying to study as much as I can now and get networking and security degrees so when/if I save enough money I hope to just blow threw this anyone got recommendations on materials im studying comtia courses rn im broke af so I need free resources
The issue with this is you speed run 4 years in 6 months yes you got ten degree but now you have to gain the hands experience and more I just don’t see why speed it!
To save money. College degrees aren't hands on experience either. Even if you have a Master's degree in Cybersecurity and no experience, you'll still be looking for an entry level role. A degree in tech is essentially a box to check off for HR. I'll never be asked about a degree again. Also, since I didn't take years to complete it, I'm not paying off debt along with it. Now I'm gaining experience the same way anyone else would, but I'm debt free and already graduated.

Personally I am finishing 4-5 classes a term plus 1-2 certs which can equal about 6-8 classes a term
Meaning I can finish in around 1.5 years or 2.
Git gud
Are completing the certifications a part of the exams you need to pass in order to graduate ? Also i have the CySa+ will that count as credit and how much ?
You have to complete the certs to finish the class associated with it. The only exception to this is CCSP.

How were you able to pass the general education courses if you had no previous college courses to transfer? (Health, American Politics, Prob & Stat, Algebra, Natural Science Lab, etc). You were able to take those entire college courses in just a few days each?
What advice do you have for someone who has 0% knowledge on I.T or cyber in general ?
Hey Austin! Recently started the Associated in Cyber and IA...would you be willing to mentor me? Seems like you had a pretty good grip on this stuff!
What happens if you pass the initial assessment?
The pre assessment?
@@cyberproaustin what i mean was is there a way to test out of a class?
@@M_santana26 you can't technically test your way out of a class. However, there is no required amount of material to take before your first attempt at the assessment at the end of a course. If you pass it, you pass the course and move onto the next one. If you fail, your instructor will give you a required amount of material to go through to get your next attempt. That usually means completing the entirety of the course material.
I'm starting in Oct. I have transferred credits from my Associates, and I"m somewhat computer savy, though no experience with pen testing or cyber security. Would I also be able to finish in one term?
It just depends how much time you're willing to put in.
Wow God is Great hopefully I can do the same 🙏🏿
I'm trying to study as much as I can now and get networking and security degrees so when/if I save enough money I hope to just blow threw this anyone got recommendations on materials im studying comtia courses rn im broke af so I need free resources
Am starting mine on 1st Dec with 4 credits already am planning to finish in one year and half.
whats your linkedin?

Awesome Sauce!!! Thanks!@@cyberproaustin
Can you tutor me??
Do you have a wife and kids and working full-time while doing that? Oh! I forgot, do you pay mortgage too?
Yes
Two terms sounds better for me
Hi Austin, I am thinking to go for cybersecurity with WGU. How can I get in touch with you, I have few questions regarding about programs?
You can add me on LinkedIn if you haven't already.
W
Yeah, but did you learn anything.
Does anyone? You learn when you work. Everyone knows that.
Where did you get a wife like that?
Haha! Church.
hi there
Yeah if you live at home and have no job, you should not have any excuses to not to finished in 1 term.
Did you? Cyber sec is very dense material
@@mattw7926 I agree with matt
Full time job, part time job, 3 kids, moved, ZERO credit hours and completed a 4 year in 6 months…. Mannnnnnn…. Insanely hard to believe
The only way to do this is to have the knowledge and practical skills before enrolling. Youre basically just proving it... This is click bait
I'm so sick of this bullshit. All you guys are doing is cheapening the apparent value of the degree you just got.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS. YOU WANT A PAT ON THE BACK OR WHAT?
