My personal theory about Basilisks is that they are naturally occurring creatures of the world of Elden Ring(like in other fromsoft games) but have been corrupted by Godwyn, same with the crabs and how the big crows are corrupted by the formless mother in Mogwyn. I personally believe this because they’re eyes and design is so aggressively different from what’re used to and it’s fromsoft way of telling the player “something is ducked”
    (Edit, I’m not changing ducked)

I believe their real eyes are actually much smaller and are underneath the giant ones. I could be wrong though.
But they are definitely connected to Godwyn. I just commented elsewhere that there seems to be a connection between Godwyn and the Eclipse of Sol weapon which produces a golden death blight ash of war. So many little details that we can try to track down for years to come.

The necklace that contains the green and red jewels may not have anything to do with Mohg at all. The green may represent the jewel in the Haligtree Medallion and the splashes of red may represent the Rold Medallion, especially considering two things. The Rold medallion and Secret Haligtree Medallion both use the same lift, so it would make sense that they would be contained in the same necklace. There’s also the fact that there are three jewels, and the Haligtree Medallion comes in 2 halves, and the single Rold Medallion is given to us by Melina (2 + 1 = 3).

Melina if she had a great rune mean that her rune is the other moon seeing as how she would be closely related Rennala and Radagon or would she be imbued with Radagon and the tree but birthed by Rennala not allowing her to gain the original moon from her because she's really from the tree

Honestly, as someone who loves traditional style folk music, I really wish people would pay more mind to the feeling and traditions and cultures around the musical composition rather than whether or not there are lyrics. The truth about music these days is that a lot of people assume that lyrics are the most important thing when it really isn't always the case.
There's plenty of folk music with no lyrics at all that use specialized vocal techniques with a whole plethora of meaning and culture behind it. Yet we seem to write it off as "gibberish" if the language isn't discernable, rather than understanding the feeling the artist wanted to capture in the tone and atmosphere or cultural traditions that called for each specified way of making music.

    • @AntoniusTertius
      @AntoniusTertius 2 года назад +1

@@Dan_ModernDayViking Sure! I always say in the videos music is the universal language of men and needs no lyrics at all, the sounds convey the messages that stir our souls. People often misunderstand me when I call the lyrics gibberish. I am not criticizing the music at all, I only state a fact I found out with the people who made the music for the game ^^

    • @Dan_ModernDayViking
      @Dan_ModernDayViking 2 года назад +2

@@AntoniusTertius Right, I get you on that, man. No hard feelings or anything like that. Perhaps the word gibberish isn't the best word to describe some of these things. Knowing how some artist write, sometimes it's intentionally done that way as a placeholder for lyrics or to just a have a vocal melody to add a layer and depth to the music.
I actually just watched a video were the vocalist was using a technique called Kulning which is essentially a Nordic traditional form of herdcalling. I also occasionally listen to music that uses a form of Tibetan throat singing. There's a lot going on in music that has meaning outside of lyrical content and I appreciate those who understand that kind of depth, especially in folk styles that are a bit different than much of what we see in the mainstream. Glad to hear that, man. :)

    • @AntoniusTertius
      @AntoniusTertius 2 года назад +3

@@Dan_ModernDayViking No worries, man :) I didn't find a better word to describe the lyrics, sometimes I describe them as meaningless lyrics, I wish there were a neutral, better word to put it. Elden Ring uses the gothic singing style and its lyrics are arranged in glossolalic style as I explain in the 2nd half of the Godfrey official lyrics vid. The choir and meaningless lyrics were added in the boss fights just to increase the epicness of the moment ^^

I think the necklaces might have been an early version of evolving talismans. Instead of finding the base, +1, and +2 separately you would craft them up the ranks. But then they decided they wanted more than just a few evolving talismans and decided it wouldn't make sense to have 2 different systems so they just put them all under the current system.
The medallion idea does make a lot of sense though.

    1. Cinquedea
The gold part of black blade could be Cinquedea's gold
Maliketh's strikes thru an amulet whit it and it becomes black blade
and they say that amulet is The Black Blade (Maliketh's Black Blade)
I also agree that gold could be some form of dragon's gold
    2. Amber
I think each jewels represents the Amber of cosmos,
    aka, The Glintstone (Sorceress Sellen)
I could assume that red one is from The Fell God
golden one is from The Erdtree
but green one is bit tricky, I'd like to imagine it
related to Dew of Abundance or The Greattree
    3. Moon
The Moon in elden ring is intersting. (of couse, The Sun is much more interesting)
In my theory there were 3 moons in elden ring (I know it sounds bit crazy)
The full moon, which has power of spirit calling?
The black moon which destroyed by Astel (Memory Stone, Remembrance of the Naturalborn)
The dark moon which is Ranni's Mending black moon (age of stars ending)
    4. Eye
I also think eyes in elden ring is really important factor
not only golden rune eyes, they implies so many things
it is very interestinng that marika, miquella and malenia never showed eyes
In my theory, The Eye is where The order resides
and the Rune is also part or source of the order (Melina's line)
that aside, Maliketh has puple or glome eye (Beast Eye)
and he touched and controlled DD-Destined Death
Ranni also touched and manipulted DD (Ranni's line)
and there is "The Glom-eyed Queen" who controlled DD
so in my theory by manipulating DD
The Order(Destined Death) resided in Ranni's Eyes
thus her other eye became the glome eye
    5,6. Song of Lament
the song besides, bat harpy's has interesting traits
Living form of crusible (Crucible Feather Talisman)
Iron Briar around there foot (Briar set)
casts Death Rancor (Ancient Death Rancor)
There is resembled statues in Elphael
by all that, I think they could be related to ancient dynasty
    7. Fire giant
I have lots theory about fell god but that asides
one thing I'd like to say is they lived in time less-immemorial..(Zamor set)
Acient dragon became draongs by losing there eternalness (Dragonwound Grease)
In my theory this is by left of The Dragon's god, (Remembrance of the Dragonlord)
Lost of dragon gold (Gravel Stone Seal, Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone)
and Fire giants came AFTER that incident (Borealis's Mist)
so I think we could assume that Acient dragons are SUPER Acient lol
    8. Prince of Death
well it's a bit stretch but I think godwyn's malform is due to Law of Regression
idk how to convey this in english but Kanji(回歸-Regression) is
    consistent keyword in elden ring
in english it is replace by devolution, vestige of the primordial
but it is all connected to keyword "回歸" in kanji languages
so in short, The crusible-The Law-Ancestor Spirit are connected by this
->Ancestor Spirit grows a tree-(it's the greattree in my theroy)
->Long lived animals grows part of crusible (budding horn, Siluria's Tree)
    so in my theory,
Souless body of Godwyn yearned to eternal converge
but it is hindered by fragment of DD and centipede rite
yet Will-less body contiuned to Regress-"回歸",
creating malformed animal parts and basilisks(wormface,skellys..etc..)
and instead of buds of greattree, growed black thorny trees
it is interesting that he somewhat resembles to crusible murals in divine tower

So ironic to see people who don't even know Latin simply making up lore texts out of gibberish...

For the dragon king's cragblade and the black blade having the same silhouette... I really don't see it. At all. The black blade is an obsidian-looking blade that is visibly worn and cracked. So is its cross-guard, which from the look of things was once a big, symmetrical crescent. The hilt is the gold/bark material that's used in other Golden-age designs, shaped to fit Maliketh's large hands and with fine carving details. The crag blade is not visibly worn and is made of lightning granite. The cross-guard is also asymmetrical, but there is no sign of wear. The hilt is the same material and lacks any detail, appearing to naturally project out of the blade. Unlike the beautiful grain on the Black Blade, this hilt seems to have been whittled down without any particular care to appearance or to handling (look at those rocky ridges - this would hurt to hold when wielded). The blade itself is a toothpick compared to Maliketh's current blade even at its thinnest.
This one just seems like way too much of a stretch. They look similar only in that they're both swords and have a sword shape. Every detail is way off.

  • @Tom_Fuckery

i always thought the black blade looked very close to the very bottom piece of the Elden Ring. The tip sealed just below the Rune Arc. Almost like the Ancient Ring had its roots cut and the rune arc acted as the hilt and seal of Destined Death.
    Post-watch:
With so many ancient things (omen, crucible, death, stars, flame etc.) being plucked from the order, I feel like its safe to say that the gold veins along the roots of the basilisks could relate to their past Grace. Or rather when Death was once a part of Grace. Their pupils even look like the Eclipse

While his assertions about the way the music was created probably are true, I would not want to trust Antonius Tertius any more than any of the "fan translators" out there.
I don't think he actually has access to the behind the scenes information he says he has.
From what I've seen he acts very attention-seeking, telling people that he is very unstable, because he gets low views or going even so far as to promise trying to get in contact with the Bloodborne music team.
(as if he was the only person able to do it, despite the fact that his supposed connections would be useless)
I've seen his evidence for the legitimacy of his information and it could easily just be fake, namely a chat with what is supposedly the insider that gave him that information with (understandably) a lot of censoring and a very glaring cut inbetween.
Now, I am normally one to give someone the benefit of the doubt, but the way he is acting makes me distrust him.
Always remember that someone once faked Hitlers diaries. The complexity of his breakdowns do not legitimize them either.
We are on the internet, people do a lot of scummy things for attention.

Other then the necklace maybe being to much a cliche rpg trope or just impossible to animate or whatever reason, it would also make the journey a lot more difficult. An interresting observation i just made is the following. you know the mine shafts throughout elden ring, where the stone people dig for orr and you can gather lots of materials, often smithing stones? if a miner works on a smithing stone and you grab that stone, in subsequent return the same miner is no longer working. instead he just sits down at the spots he was mining before.

0:44 Maliketh’s Black Blade does have a lot of interesting implications. A theory I have is that judging from Iji and Ranni’s dialogue, we know that when each Empyrean are chosen by their two fingers, they are given a shadow that will turn into a horrid curse should they ever betray the Greater Will. How do they know this? They must’ve seen it happen. The only other recorded Empyrean with a shadow in history is Marika and when she began to plot against the Greater Will(Enia mentioning her trespass), I believe Maliketh activated his kill switch and used Destined Death against her hence why she’s crucified with a spear bearing similar traits to the power of his Black Blade(It channels the same brilliance of the black flame and Blaidd’s eyes glow red at the end of Ranni’s questline, possibly explaining the red hue). Another question I asked myself is just how Maliketh was able to possess or lock away the Rune of Death if he’s just a shadowbound and not a demigod? The answer is simple, he sealed Marika inside him who actually was a vessel for the Rune of Death. He only channels the power from his Black Blade which is made from Marika herself, particularly her stony torn half that leads to her missing eye where I speculate the stone covered Beast Eye/Gloam Eye originated from(Melina reveals to have the same Gloam Eye on the same side of her face). Her corpse is likely dead since it’s impaled with a DD amber spear, her other half being sealed into Maliketh, meaning the Beast Eye that writhes could be the only part of her that still “alive”. Ew. I really believe Marika is part Beast herself since she glimmers in gold and the beast blood in the game has traces of gold as well, explaining why the Black Blade also has traces of Gold.

I’m not sure about every single thing mentioned here, but I definitely can imagine that like Blaidd, who is fated to turn on Ranni should she get too close to opposing the golden order, would lose his sanity and attack her. As is part of his making as a shadow. Perhaps the same goes for Maliketh, and since Marika actually did defy the golden order and shatter the ring, he had cause to attack her. I wondered about the jagged red shard running through her shattered body as well

Kinda off-topic, and please correct me if somebody has already discussed this in a video. While we know Placidusax's heads bear a resemblance to the two fingers, has anyone noticed there is a third neck with a stump where the head should be? Implying some resemblance to the three fingers? Maybe this one head was cut off by golden order fundamentalists as it was considered blasphemous? Again, if this has been covered elsewhere please let me know, I just haven't seen anything.

I feel like the necklaces can actually still be implemented in future DLC and be used in the same way as Dark Souls 3's Covenant system. Where you wear or equip the necklace and you are apart of that Covenant and when you PVP you earn whatever the drops are for that Covenant. And then you could switch Covenants by switching necklaces. I feel like that would be the most realistic implementation, but I could be 100% wrong.

SPOILERS: I think the eyes of Ranni are a symbol of being halved in some way-an indication that one's body and soul have been split. The two(?) characters we meet with one closed eye are both removed from their original physical forms. Melina says that she is "burned and bodiless," while Ranni is known to have killed her flesh and implanted her soul into a doll. Eyes are typically indicative of your soul's status and of which Outer God has influence over you (hence the reflective helmets that block one's eyes as a repellant against the influence of the Great Will): gold eyes for those blessed by Grace, dulled eyes for graceless Tarnished, black eyes for those cursed to live in death, slitted orange eyes for those partaking in dragon communion, flaming eyes for those lost to frenzy/madness, and blue/purple eyes for those "fallen children of the stars."

On the topic of Red-haired giants, I've been told by people who notice my hair that in some tellings of the bible, Red heads are the modern decedents of the Nephilim (Biblical Giants) so that may be another possible origin of the red haired giants? I haven't found anything about Nephilim being red heads online, so I think The red haired giants of Lovelock Cave is more likely of an origin for Elden Ring's Giants

Has anyone commented on the soul at the top of Castle Sol who is praying to Miquella about an eclipse and their Lord remaining soulless? Right next to where you get the other half of the medallion. I've only seen a few posts online about it.
The spirit is connected to the soul at the altar where you get the Eclipse Shotel weapon. What's interesting is that the sword's ash of war is death blight based and glows gold and black.
There's clearly something going on with that sword, Castle Sol, Miquella, and Godwyn. Was Miquella also working to bring Godwyn back to life and was that sword a part of it? Or was it an actual eclipse of the sun? And does that have something to do with why there is gold in the Basilisks and anything else involving Godwyn?
Maybe somehow his connection to gold has interwoven itself with death blight and Destined Death. It glows red if it comes from the Rune of Death, but if it's connected to Godwyn, it now glows gold? I'm literally just brainstorming.

Surely the similarity between Maliketh’s blade and Gransax’s blade should be that they’re formed out of a similar supernatural power, not that they’re both made of dragons.
Maliketh’s black blade is very similar in appearance and VFX to Destined Death, so it’s made of Destined Death.

Black could be Gold...i realized it a few days ago by walking through Nokstella again. The (white) throne is decorate with black colour. When you use a lamp or (normal) fire torch it reflect golden. in the room is more gold/copper as you may think , because of the light. Back to gold : it can turn black when heated very high and cool of in open air . I run the Theorie since then that Ranni steal the moon and could be running into a (golden) trap - when the dark moon arise and the little sun rise (maybe the erdtree grow anew) - we also have a second sun - ice melts - waters flows through yelough mines directly toooooooo: YES Godwyn

Hey! When Summoned into other players world as a sunbro your irises change what looks like the "lords rune' item, which can further the idea of all runes coming from eyes. Perhaps runes manifest in the eyes of anyone who beholds the light of the Erdtree? It would make a degree of sense that those who behold even imagery or visions of the erdtree would begin to manifest runes. As any tarnished can begin the game with a semi-powerful consumable rune. From a gameplay prospective your just grabbing a bump to equipment or levels, but from an in world view it should be impossible to get runes outside the land-between? I could be very wrong on that. The prophet class with the starting consumable rune make for much lore.

I hate to be "that person" but the large eyes of the Basalisks are actually full of their Death Cloud. Similar to Moths that have eye patterns matching the eyes of predator species on their wings. The actual eyes are below them and much smaller, as you can see in images like the one below. Interestingly this might imply that the Basalisks were more like a Komodo Dragon or some other large lizard, and Godwin's death mutated them as well.

    @battlexraygaming5079 Год назад

This is my guess, but looking at the gold necklace mentioned in the 'Cut content'....It probably something that relates to Godwyn the Golden.
I say so, because, firstly, if you look closely at the bottom layer of necklace, you can see faces of dragons, and according to lore, during the ancient Dragon war between the Golden order and the dragons, Godwyn defeated and then afterwards, befriended the dragons, allowing for dragon worship to be accepted as a faith alongside the golden order. This necklace was probably worn by him signifying that very friendship and understanding between the two faiths.
Secondly, the branch pattern made on the necklace are not something that can symbolise the Erdtree, but rather, it feels more like the tree where you can find Fia, sitting under the living corpse of Godwyn. This is probably made as something that has a relationship to the crucible. The crucible knight's armor has similar patterns as well.

Imma have to disagree with Malikeths blade being made with part of a dragon. The item description itself says: "Maliketh's black blade which once harbored the power of the Rune of Death. A sad shadow of its former glory.
After a fragment of Death was stolen on that fateful night, Maliketh bound the blade within his own flesh, such that none might ever rob Death again.".
I find it much more reasonable that it's a manifestation of the rune blade's original form combined with the knife Maliketh uses to draw out the blade then it is made form parts of Placidusax. The black and gold pattern apperes on Placidusax also appears on the damascus pattern of the Cinquedea Maliketh uses to manifest the black blade. It makes more sense that the black/gold pallet comes from the knife used to summon the blade then a dragon lord that might have passed long before Maliketh was even alive. (Or it could just be how the blade looked like that from the start and it's just a coincidenc a game with a heavy use of gold in its colour pallet has two bosses that are in close location of each other have similar colour themes)

Ranni yeeting her Great Rune into the moon would make sense considering the original text for her dialogue during her ending. Where she sends the Golden Order back into space so that no one may interfeer with it again.
She seems to be really into getting all these foreign powers/gods out of the Lands Between and back to whence they came from.
So the fact that she bagan with her very own Great Rune tells us that she really means bussiness.
Of what use is power if you have to give away your autonomy to get it?

As for the two other jewls on the branches, they could be Miquella and Malenia reborn from the halightree as people can be borne like fruit on the branches of sacred trees as per the Tarnished Archeologist.

Clearly they both have ties to the mentor as Melina has torrent, but still no leading theories on why they have opposite eye tattoos.
Melina looks different in the frenzy ending, not just her eye being opened but the other one seemingly blinded and her skin tone being much paler and grayer.
