It's great, Leader Senior Brother, your state has already conquered the Cobra. I'm very grateful for your 'all the thing she said', subtracting 30 minutes from 22, grateful for 8 minutes, and thank you for sharing your perspective, Simon Senior.

Love the idea of having a leadership buddy.... someone you can turn to when you need to brainstorm.

Leadership isn't about going it alone; it's about collaboration and support. Reaching out when you're struggling shows strength and builds a stronger, more cohesive team.

I don’t think she reached out reaching out would look different. Many people don’t want to put burden on others even when they are at most weakest point of their lives they won’t want to bother others. There are many people like that.

The "strict rule" that friends can never cry alone wouldn't work for me with all due respect. Making this a rule, I would think would make people feel obligated to call someone up every time they felt like crying. This takes away from the fact that some personality types have no problem crying alone, or at least 50% of the time anyway.
Obviously we need people to help us work through things, we are not islands and that is bad for our wellbeing, but I also don't think the no crying alone rule should exist either. Sometimes empathy involves respect for how different personalities work through things in different ways and not making them do things the way you would.
Sometimes I need people to not get weird if I cry in their presence and hold space for it, but at others, it's just me, music and the forest and I'm totally fine with that. Crying "alone" in the forest is very therapeutic for me. The trees see me and comfort me in some way. I also pray and know I'm never alone anyway.
I've found that some will lean into opening up about things the way your friend did via text, and it really is their way of reaching out. A helpful thing to say at those times is, sure, let's make some time to get together soon. Is this a catch-up visit, or was something more specific on your mind? They may say, yeah, there is something actually. I'll fill you in when you're here. Again, difference in personalies, right. You may be more direct, whereas others won't be. It doesn't mean they haven't tried to come to you in their own way.

Love this. I need friends like this 🥹 being a single parent is absolutely the hardest thing to do alone.. and so hard to reach out bc the internalized Shame of being a “burden” to other people with your problems..
