    In the myth, Pholus lifts one arrow, says something philosophical like "how can something so little cause so much carnage" and then proceeds to accidentally let it slip by his hand and get poisoned.
    It's supposed to be tragic but I find it really funny for some reason

      I have to admit that I really liked seeing this element incorporated into the design of the Amazons. It's a nice little detail; but from what I understand this element was a late addition to the Amazon mythos. If you stop to think about it, having breasts doesn't affect your ability to use a bow and arrow at all. Atalanta and Artemis are a good example of this.

    • @juanprada4410
      @juanprada4410 Год назад +9

      @@shadoww4818 Of course, there is always the possibility that it was part of the myth from the start.
      But I have seen this idea raised that it is not part of the original version many times and it has several points in its favor as I see it. I could be wrong, but I've seen many classic illustrations of the Amazons and I don't recall any of them alluding to them without a breast. I understand that the first time the idea of amputating the chest was established comes from the 5th century BC; but the myth of this town of warrior women is much older. And that's not even mentioning the theories that suggest the Amazon myth was inspired by a real community.

Sure, it takes some creative liberties to either improve the story or tie it into existing Marvel lore, but it still gets all the big details and most of the small details correct.
