I’m currently driving an Atto 3 and for anyone considering Y+, I think on paper it looks strong. A little cheaper but has slightly more capacity with the same LFP battery. Interior looks safely more traditional but the angel wing headlights don’t look cool IMO. Rear passenger space looks roomie, that means tradeoff with a smaller boot. The movie thing seems useful although Atto 3 has a larger screen. Marginally taller and longer than Atto 3. I’m not privy about the aftermarket servicing for Y+; in any case Vantage Auto is terrible.
GAC Aion is distributed by Vincar , a well respected parallel importer in the past turn official distributer. Vincar after sales service was known to be good during their parallel importer days. So fingers crossed they would be ok. Vantage can’t keep up with the number BYD they sold, which is almost the same as Toyota, but Borneo has far larger pool of after sales service support. Vantage only has 3 service advisor now, and I wonder how many servicing bays and mechanics they have. If they don’t expand they after sales support, Denza is going to suffer. Imagine buying Lexus and don’t get after sales support. The good thing is Vantage, owned by Sime Darby have a sufficient backing through their BMW network of mechanics. And EVs generally don’t need much servicing. And I am sure BYD is less patient compared to BMW with their official agent. Maybe they will also sign up Eurokars as another agent like BMW. 😂
Hi Jay Jay, if u were to top up costs for this AION, using a Honda Jazz as a trade in, how much more is one expected to top up? Also how's the time n cost for a full charge ? Overall good review..ya the "hey baby" voice activation can b tad annoying.😊
Hi @angetan207, when using 100kW DC charging, the Y Plus can be charged from 20-80% in 40 mins, and 0-100% in 90 mins. For the Honda Jazz, there are a lot of factors including the year of the car registered, kilometres accrued, state of the vehicle, and more that go into the valuation of the Jazz, and the subsequent top-up value for trade in. The dealer should be able to advise you on a more accurate figure. Otherwise, you can also try our auction platform www.quotz.com.sg/ - Jay

Having said that, GAC is a respectable company in China especially southern part of China. They recently became the first company to innovate 30,000rpm electric motor , compared to the normal 5,000 - 20,000rpm motors used on most EVs these days. The higher the rpm, the more powerful and efficient the EV is.

Saw it at Car Show, thought it was too good to be true. After reading many reviews, I can conclude that the market is properly spoilt.

i vote yes as it is cheaper and simpler desgin. Legroom is incredible large for comfortable experience
