    I'm still in that before-EV OCD space. Hence I came to your video! My eyes lit up at your point #4.

    It's good to know I am not the only one that wants to know as much of the A to Zs as possible ahead of time. Lol! Thanks Justin for this fantastic guide. I get my EV in March and I feel reasonably equipped after this video.

    Am late. Just noticed you have a youtube channel. Was following your journey on Tiktok.
    Ok, so I am getting my EV in a few days' time and was researching soo much on what I should or shouldn't do. And yes, other than your video, there isnt any out there on SG EV ownership. There is a FB group but I dont dare ask or say much things as I felt it might be repeated over and over.
    Your video has just confirmed most things I have already researched on. Thank you for the affirmation. 😊😊
    20th tip should be : as EV owners, let us stand together on higher charges chariging station and not use them. one particular provider has decided to go closer to the $1 mark and thats INSANE. 😂😂 perhaps a downfall in customers will make them adjust the pricing to a more friendlier amount.
    Love your videos! Keep it up Justin!!

      Thanks for the comment, appreciate the kind words! 😊 Yeah I totally get what you mean - that was totally me when I first collected my EV! So paiseh to ask a group with thousands of people 😂 And you're most welcome!
      Wait what! ~$1/ kWh?! Which company is this? 😱 Highest I've seen so far is Shell Recharge at Suntec...

      @erwanng2805 10 месяцев назад

      @JustinSng4 yes... it's that company. I refuse to use them after seeing the rates. I think they are burning V power to supply us with electricity. 🤣🤣🤣

      @@erwanng2805 🤣🤣 well let’s just hope the other companies keep their rates status quo for awhile longer…

    In my experience, using SP Group AC charger with a DC charger, if you are alone, using the AC charger will give you your car's max charge speed for AC charging. But when another EV charger charges on the DC side, your KW will drop by half of your car's max. After the DC user leaves, the AC does not revert back to your car's max charge speed, but retains the half, this caused the time to charge to increase significantly. Not sure if this is an issue with the SP group charger or my car...SP Group has yet to get back to me...

    Hi Justin. Love your video. I might have missed it, but im looking for your advice on AC EV home charger. I live in Singapore and just purchased BYD car. I live in a landed property. Thanks for your help.

    • @JustinSng4
      @JustinSng4  6 месяцев назад

      Hey there, sorry for the late reply! I don't live in a landed so unfortunately I can't share my personal advice, but you can ask your SA for their opinion, because my SA had quite a fair bit of knowledge when I was purchasing the car (most would install a free AC charger in your home if you buy direct from them!)

    Hi, I am currently living in a condo and I am about to buy the model Y but the problem is i do not know how the charging system is going to work, so like if i buy a wall connector will I be able to connect it to the wall but then do I have to pay extra to the property?

    • @JustinSng4
      @JustinSng4  9 месяцев назад

      I don't think you're allowed to install your own personal wall chargers in a condo 😅 That's typically only allowed for landed property owners!

    i heard about the charging station will charge you even u are 100% charged. Any idea how much would it cost? am thinking your logic of "by the way". if i charge my car near my office carpark for entire day (9 to 5pm), i am sure it will get 100% before the half day is gone..so how much more i need to pay after it hit 100% and for that idling 4-5 hours?

    • @JustinSng4
      @JustinSng4  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Eric, great question. Some companies charge differently for "idle fees", most do not have idle fees YET, and even if some companies do charge, they might only levy an idle fee for certain locations, not all! For SP Group, I got the idle fee reminder that stated $0.50/ minute, if I don't remove my car after 30 minutes of the car being fully charged, so I'd assume most other companies would price their idle fees that way!

    If charge daily even the battery is not at low level, will it shorten the lifespan of the battery?

    • @JustinSng4
      @JustinSng4  Год назад +1

      Hey sorry for the late reply, nope it won't! EV owners who live in landed properties and have their own private chargers, charge on a daily basis and as far as I know, it won't degrade the battery anymore than only charging it every few days would! Plus a lot of taxi drivers now have upgraded to EVs as well, so they would be DC charging on a daily as well as they don't have time to wait a few hours for AC to fully charge their cars!

  • @semchong

    Good video, but you know....fast charge will kill the battery faster, kill retention rate...and they are implications

    • @JustinSng4
      @JustinSng4  Год назад +2

      Hmm, I've had friends who have driven EVs for 4-5 years, DC charged most of their time driving an EV, the battery degradation as compared to those who only AC charged via home charging, is almost similar... Both around 9-11% degradation of battery 😅

    No everyone works in orchard road where DC 50Kw is easily available and lunch there ~ stop shit talking about saving time then; pure madness. Eg to spend $3 to buy a good with a discount of $1 = U meant that U save $1 by spending $3.
    I go petrol station, Uncle can pump petrol 4 me, while I leak leak = some more got discount n sometime free gifts like drinks n umbrellas.

      Keep ur mean comments to urself, go and find anti-EV charging videos to propagate your hate on EV charging instead of bashing someone who genuinely finds EV charging not a hassle and made a great effort to come up with a well-thought-out video to help other people like me. Even if you don't support EV, that's fine you can have your own opinions but there was no need to be mean and use phrases like "shit talking". Also, just because you don't work in orchard road and you're salty doesn't justify your comment haha. I don't work in orchard road either but I don't find anything wrong with what was mentioned in the video. You can definitely find elsewhere to charge also, doesn't have to be orchard. We don't welcome unnecessarily mean ppl like you here.
