    What do you think of the LAP Socket Tester from Screwfix? £7.49!

      Anything lap on a personal level I would stay very clear off but it depends on what you’re using it for if you wanna use it day in day out then I’ll probably stay well away from it but if you’re going to use it on the odd occasion then yeah probably it’s fine it depends on what’s on your budget. Plus also I don’t think has the audio function. I’ve had so many bad experiences with customers providing lap equipment I refuse to install it now as I’ve had so many comebacks

    It'd be a lot better if it were scripted. Too many mistakes and 'yeahs' make it burdensome and less informative to watch.

    I use the martindale, no it doesn’t make a sound if there is a problem.
    If it doesn’t make a sound that’s when you know somethings wrong.
    The ones with no audio are useless for isolating a circuit on your own 😂 back and forth

    I use the Kewtech one it’s all I need really.

      I must say I’m quite impressed by that kewtech. Seems like quite a good brand. I’ve always use fluke and megger. I enjoyed your video this morning on the scout hut fire alarm. I’m going back on it today to comment.

    Great video Will. I have the kewtech loop check 107. Great bit of kit that also lets me test the RCD.

      I must admit I quite like the look of the Kew tech stuff.

    Great review - thanks. I use the Di-Log ( delongi ) and its great with the rubber band to protect it and for a quick visual run-around doing all the sockets saves a lot of time and picks up any errors really quickly.

      @ElectricianTV  4 года назад +1

      Thanks a lot mate that’s a good idea putting a rubber band round it never thought that or I suppose I could even get one of those wristbands of the charity ones for the socket and see.

    Socket n see 22, for me. I’ve had one for 5 years and another socket n see 22 for 10 teats before that (some bastard nicked my first one!). What’s also nice is a socket n see 22 gives an instant audible sound, not all testers give instant sound (some have to think about it for a while! They’re a bit thick!!) brilliant video👏

    Interesting vid thanks. What a lot of people{ non-sparks } will not know or expect. These and earth loop impedance testers will not pick up Neutral and Earth reversal for obvious reasons. That's why other test's should pick up this.

    Like it or not the "quick health check" approach of diddy (sorry - "inexpensive") ELI socket testers is here to stay.

      Is absolutely crazy to think that they can rely on that how on earth that passes the risk assessment

    Delonghi make toasters and coffee machines. Maybe you were needing a caffeine fix during filming? Great review 😆👍

    I’ve got the Schneider one in a box somewhere, like you I got it because it had Schneider on it🤦🏻‍♂️. Those ones with the fault loop check are what the curries boys use when their delivering and installing cookers, if it flags up bad they won’t fit it 😂 and tell the punters the electrics are unsafe.... Anyone on TT is automatically not getting the cooker fitted 🤪

      That is absolutely criminal. But you’re right I’ve had that before with the customers are saying that the year Delivery Man’s current connecting for some reason usually causes a bit of a bind. Cheers Simon also throw your one in the bin.

    I have the megger socket tester...when the socket is turned off all 3 lights are on, when I turn the socket on it says live neutral reverse..
    Any ideas??????thanks

    • @ElectricianTV
      @ElectricianTV  4 года назад

      I would probably say send it back mate does it do it on every socket if so then that is obviously faulty. Or the polarity in the building is wrong.

    • @footnuke
      @footnuke 2 года назад

      Not a sparky but if it's getting power when the switch is off, the socket is wired wrong. Otherwise how would the LEDs be turning on if the socket should have no power?

    I had a flash fluke one with the rcd test button and some bugger had it away 🤬

    I thought Fluke recalled their socket testers and no longer make them.

    • @ElectricianTV
      @ElectricianTV  4 года назад +1

      Hi Paul they sure did and yeah you’re correct they don’t sell them any more but I’ve got a couple of them and I’ve never had a problem with mine. I did mention it on the video via text. but it probably wasn’t clear enough I’m still getting to grips with all this. But I really appreciate your comment.

    • @lumpyfishgravy
      @lumpyfishgravy 4 года назад

      There was a recall. It was for a very specific condition, but Fluke being Fluke, right? Whether or not they remain in the market, other manufacturers have taken note and addressed the issue.

    Very insightful review Will. So if we made it a little rubbery and a little louder, we would have a chance of the podium? Keep the videos coming 🙂

      That’s good to hear I will keep a look out for them as my wholesaler stocks your products. I’ve not seen your new voltage pens I’ve seen images. Why change a classic
