    Hi. Great Video. Could you tell me what the battery options are for this tester? I see the comparable Metrel one has rechargeable but cannot find any info on this tester apart from that it comes with batteries. thanks

    I have had the KT64DL for about 12 years and its just starting to play up. They look very similar size wise. Considering one of these, not too keen on the colour though lol

    As a Megger fan boy, Kewtech are really upping their game 👍 the problem is, when you know your tester inside & out, it’s literally impossible to test with anything else, without a crash course 😅

      Hi Guvnor. I believe you can link it to an IPad via blue tooth. I haven’t yet but intend to. I suspect you connect through your EICR software such as I-certify or Napit mobile, if I get a chance this week I’ll have a look just snowed under at the moment.

    Hi Richie, great video thank you for sharing that. I'm just getting in the industry and looking to buy my first multifunction tester. I've been looking into the available options and I know I probably should start with a simpler and cheaper tester but looking to the future ahead and considering I want to move into installing EV chargers and Solar panel I'm thinking better to spend more money now then buying a cheaper option now and having to upgrade later which might end up costing me more. What is your opinion on this? and How you finding the KT66DL now that you have used for a few weeks? Thank you.

    • @richiegtridentelectrics9635
      @richiegtridentelectrics9635  3 года назад +4

      Hi Marcos. It sounds like we are of similar opinion and situations. I’ve been an electrical engineer for 23 years so lots of experience with lots of tech and measuring instruments but am just starting in pure domestic electrics.
      The same as you I wanted to keep it simple but also have always worked on the Buy cheep but twice motto.
      My justification for the Kewtech was that the Mega version with EV charging was the same price and you get the 1741 which is good but years old. The Metrel version just seemed a step too far with pure touch screen etc.
      I’ve been using this just over a month and I’d say it’s the perfect Balance of enough new tech with the robustness of a dial the EV charge tester is so simple to use and not that you’ll need them but the help screens are great if your doing a test your not used to.
      I need to get set up with bluetooth to the iPad next to speed up testing.
      I honestly can’t fault it.
