I want a version of this where the bronze players explain what they're trying to do, I think it would be interesting to hear their thoughts while in game.

The painful thing is that many of them would have pretty sensible explanations, BUT, they'd either lack the skill to pull off what they're thinking (Fucking relatable) or they'd simply not understand how a particular mechanic or hero works.
Like some people that play Lucio used to think his primary fire did the healing, and alotta people don't know that Reins shield doesn't block melee or firestrike.
So they'd likely say things that make complete sense, but not in the context of what's happening

@@ethandonnelly1973 You forgot the part when they completely lack game sense/knowledge and are trying to do random shit, which is what happens 90% of the time. Like, that Rein would 100% say I was shielding my team and my bastion because they need protection at the choke.. problem is that isn't the choke, that's not the route you take with Rein and that's not how you shield properly, without even going in depth. Also, these players who "used to think" are functionally illiterates, either they don't care about learning/reading, never tried all (oh gosh, too many) heroes in shooting range or are just naturally dumb. There are tons of examples like in cards games when noobs say they did a play considering the opponent had one particular card that isn't on their priority line in the match-up or isn't even played in the meta list. So no, it's waaaaay worse, you downplay it a lot. Their explanation would be funny as hell because out of what they'd say, most would be plain wrong with a little spark of good intention. It's like saying you're avoiding an asteroid while randomly jumping on the street: yeah it can happen yeah it's understandable but "sense" doesn't work like that

Note: Hashbrowns played Orisa in the first round. Probably got pissed after getting rolled trying to double shield a Bastion who can't aim.
Yeah looked like he was throwing, but it's hard to tell when it comes to how people think reins should play in Bronze. Maybe he was trying to be a more "mobile orisa" for the attack bastion? LOL
Also he didn't build shatter at all on their attack. I think all that ult charge was passive. Had to be.

I feel like I speak for literally everyone when I express my astonishment that Firehawk LIVED through walking onto Numbani first point, down main, into a Bastion. Literally no one else, be they Silver like me or anywhere higher, would have survived. And this...this...almost feels unfair.
D.Va was taking all the fire and just using matrix lol
the bastion stopped shooting at him and turned his cannon to shoot someone to the right. All the shots went into the payloads upper part... pain.

We just assume they are really bad and play stupidly like that because even if ur not great mechanically but can think when u play u could still easily push to gold.. 1. Be a rectangle man in the choke until your shield breaks.
2. Charge into the enemy team from Narnia because you no longer have a shield and feel like you must do something.
3. Type "GG DPS" in the match chat.

Let's be fair, I've seen plat tanks do this.
I've also seen plat supports bitch at their DPS for not protecting them, as they "Retreated" directly into the entire enemy team
And I've seen plat DPS bitch that they weren't getting healed after their Ana anally implanted their entire magazine into them, while they stood in front of a multiple burst damage characters.
These problems run far further up the ladder than they should

I had a rein the other day who stood Infront of an orisa shield for literally 15 seconds orisa literally didn't shoot or move then suddenly the rein walks forward and shattered 6 ppl it was fkn strange orisa literally stood in that doorway for 15 seconds having a staring contest with that rein
This was in Quickplay but pretty sure both where bronze lol
100% ego vod. As a Rein main nothing inflates my ego and makes me think I’m MLG more than dunking on an enemy Rein all game - even if the enemy rein sucks and my play was completely unimpressive.
I love when they switch to rein because of me. Or they change to Orisa and get killed anyway.
This other rein was emoting after killing me like it was big deal, but I dominated him the whole match.

For sure my dude lol mid tier silver tank, I play against mid to upper tier gold cause i group with a high gold player. When I started I was 1000 sr and I’m 1800 now. Been playing like 9 months. My problem is a get too aggressive and get out of position sometimes.

I didn't even know one could be bronze with Reinhard. You literally just have to swing hammer and try not to die every 30 seconds.
A lot of low-rank Reins think barriers block melee damage, that's why he just stood there.

@@BlueDrew10 yes, but also: if you're new to the game, its hard to look at everything at once and still keep track. when i started out i had trouble properly tracking my teams health bars as a healer because there was just too much going on.

When I was in bronze for some reason I didn't understand that shielding another Rein meant losing the 1 v 1. For some reason my brain just didn't get it. Then I made a friend in GM and he made a 1 v 1 custom game where he disabled his own shield and disabled firestrike for me and kept coming at me and killed me over and over again until I started asking why he had no shield and he kept saying "I don't need it, I will win this every time", without explaining anymore. He kept killing me until my brain was just like 💡💡💡💡💡💡 and then I realised what he was trying to teach me 😂 Rein is a melee hero and you can't block him. Shielding another Rein in a Rein 1 v 1 has 0% effect 😂😂😂😂 it was the best way anyone ever explained anything to me about OW haha

What is this video dude... In gold I can't stop my team from walking through the high ground choke and getting annihilated by Junkrat spam, Rein swings, Zarya right clicks, and McCree fans. These guys might not even be aware that the high ground on coast side of first point even EXISTS.

I've been mid plat hog main after climbing outta low silver (took a long time)
few pointers here:
the enemy rein is throwing (never swung on the second round....maybe coz of bastion..they lost the first point very easily in spite of bastion....bastion comp are frowned upon in lower elos but still implemented coz of desperation)
our rein goes frequently afk pretty much indicates a lot of shit-talking in the team/all chat
getting mercy resses is very easy amongst enemy as NO ONE FUCKING shoots the mercy

as a hog main, you should have pointed out all the missed easy hooks of the enemy hog on Reinhardt when he kept mindlessly swinging

Ult economy is a thing that’s really confusing at lower ranks. There’s the fear to not be able to build another ult « in time » or that you will « waste » your ult. This is why you see people keep their ult for the whole game until their last push. A lot of people would want to keep them for « potg worthy » actions with at least 4 targets because it’s what they come to see as useful.

personal theory on gold to bronze mindset...
Tanks: Passive tanks tend to be more passive because they've spent so long hearing dps scream 'keep your fucking shield up', so they forget they are a tank. Overly aggressive tanks are aggressive because that one time it worked and they got a 6K, it means auto-charging should be the way to win every fight and your team will automatically know when you're doing it and they will definitely be in a position to be able to heal the insane dmg you're about to absorb in that 1v6 fight.
Dps: Get angry about not getting healed enough or given enough space to work. Pick genji and expect that every nano will be theirs because that's the only way the team will win a fight. Every time they have a bad round, stick it out on the hero they are playing shit at because meta is a better idea than just playing something useful to the team. Everybody must pick their heroes around your dps pick because it's meta and the pros do it.
Healers: dmg boost priority over healing. dmg orb priority over healing. what is positioning. moira 'i have more elims than the dps, what are our dps doing'. Mercy has the biggest balls of any player always because they will bust a rez in the most insane spots during a fight where the others probably need healing to win more than the rez is required. ana will hit 1 in 7 shots and use nade on themselves only.
(i've been guilty of a handful of these of course haha)
Overly aggressive tanks who charge blindly are the reason why people lose games lol, im a super aggro rein main and i legit climbed thru plat with ease into diamond and its legit just been a breeze, u just have to know how to play and when to play

Flats, as a former casual of this game, the reason you hold your ult until last fight is because:
1) You don’t know how fast it charges by just playing the game
2) It’s the only ult you’ll work up to the entire game
