Chat saying she needs to blue beam more, yet they fail to realize her whole team is constantly feeding so it’s rare for her to have a chance to blue beam without half her team dying
Damage boosting in bronze and silver isn't as helpful as much as chat thinks. I'm a silver Mercy player and I can literally damage boost a DPS pocket for the whole game and come out with like 800 damage boosted by the end of the competitive match. Sure, it's still good, but like chat is placing waaay too much emphasis on it here
My hunbun is a Mercy main. When goofing off in QP nobody ever lands a shot, and QP is often better than Bronze. Nobody gets a blue beam because no one person can reliably hit targets for it to matter. The meta is everyone just feeds random damage and ults until everyone can press Q for a kill. You blue beam and nothing happens, you yellow beam and they might live long enough to hit things, eventually press Q and get a kill.
I don't think chat placed too much emphasis on blue beam. Blue beam is really important, and there were times where yessica was healing full health allies that were shooting at enemies. Blue beam helps Mercy get her ult AND helps her team get their ults faster. I'm a GM support, but I've played in lower ranks and you can always use blue beam at least a little. I understand the hesitation, but if a target is full HP, please don't heal them. If for no other reason, use damage boost because its a good habit to get into for when you climb to higher ranks.
I mean yeah but there was a moment where she was way in the back healing a full hp junkrat.
1. Just boost him
2. Someone else was missing hp
3. If someone else were to get low, she may be too far away to get to them in time. Happens so much.

Hearing flats stand up for Yessica makes me feel like there are tanks that care for their healers and it makes me so happy
I'm a rein main and I always do the the "thank you" voice line and when they've done a really good job I type a message to let them know how greate they did.
Healers arent getting enough love because the others don't pay attention and it's sad...
I'm not a support main but my tank friends love it when I hop on support and let them do dumb shit
Honestly if you, as a support, can find a good tank player to pair up with, you’ll have a lot more fun than solo queuing.
I play a little bit of everything, but choose DPS when the queue time is low enough. But every game, if the healer has done even just an acceptable job, I give them the good teammate commendation. Then the 3rd I give to whoever did best overall, whether they're DPS or Tank. And yea, I always say thank you if I request healing and get it.
Mercy's the rez, Ana's who throw the nano at the right time, moira's who are actually in the fight with you healing and not just trying to MoiraDPS it the whole game, etc I always try to acknowledge them somehow. I think it's bc I when I started playing, I always went Moira. She was the easiest to use and not get yelled at lol
i mad when i dont get the hotline bling from my healers when they get dove. I play tank to protect and they dont scream help half the time T.T
As a Mercy main you seriously have no idea how she is constantly and consistently shifting the tide of the battle and all of it goes completely unnoticed because she's not in the kill feed. That is one thankless job if I ever saw one.
Exactly. I used to be a DPS only person until the waiting times got wayyy too long for me (before the passes existed) so I switched to Support and honestly, switching opened my damn mind to the struggles of being a support.
There have been SO many times where I did so well as a support but due to the lack of effort of my team, it ends in a loss. And guess who was to blame? The supports.
And when I watched this video, I felt sooo bad for this Mercy. They genuinely did so well and at least they won this game, but who knows how many games they’ve lost through fault of their team. Feels bad, dude.
She's in the kill feed as a little head above the killer's/potg person's name. But no one watches that, so yeah, still thankless

I only recently started playing OW2 so I've only played unranked, but I started as support since in games like Battlefield I tend to healbot as a medic a lot lmao. I feel like people who have no respect for their supports need to give it a solid try and maybe it'll change their perspective a little. I'm sure it's probably still toxic in ranked but at least when I run Mercy in unranked and feel like I did a pretty good job I'll get a couple of endorsements

My friend literally has a motor disability called dyspraxia and even his hand doesn't shake that badly in games.
Everyone talking about how Mercy doesn't damage boost but there's 2 problems. Boosting a bronze is like boosting a rock, it's not going to help much if they can't hit anything. Her team had terrible positional awareness and there was almost no chance for her to boost anyone because she had to be balls out healing 24-7. She literally carried her team the only way she could.
Mostly agree, though she was heal beaming full targets for a bit longer than needed, but the main 2 dmg boost flaws I saw were: 1) not really dmg boosting during valk, its best use; 2) not using dmg beam during zen trance. But otherwise you're 100% right, even at higher elos. Sometimes you have to figure out one person on your team worth dmg boosting because everyone else is "a rock", but sometimes it is everyone, and then playing Mercy loses a lot of value. So it's really situational. But in Bronze you can get away with this play for sure, especially if you almost never die.

like obviously yeah, 99% of mercys have moments where they could have been blue beaming, we can all always be doing something to improve on the heroes we play. but in this game, honestly it was just so unlucky for this poor queen

Honestly worrying about blue beaming isn’t even an issue until about Gold imo. Just consistently healing and not dying yourself as a support is all it usually takes to do well enough to win.
She was doing fine, I mean she could've pulled out the Glock a few more times when they were fully healed but otherwise was fine

by the way? when you climb out of bronze (and you will), you will start to find teammates who deserve you. there are Reins out here who shield rezzes. there are McCrees who will wait for you at spawn so you don't get spawncamped. there are second supports who will heal you. you can do it!! you can make it to places where you will have teammates who deserve you!
Only reason Yessica is in bronze is because she's a support who has to rely on tanks like the ones in this video, lmao.

She needs to play a healer that can protect themselves. Mercy is good until your team starts throwing
@@ayooduwole6727 Mercy's way of protecting herself is her mobility, though! sure, we all get into situations where we make mistakes and end up in the middle of the enemy team with no one to fly to 😅 but Mercy is incredibly self sufficient. other than times when you need to battle mercy or when you need to reset so you whip the Glock out to get some ult charge before the enemy team kills you, you shouldn't need to protect yourself by shooting the enemy. that's not how mercy was designed. a good mercy protects herself by never letting the enemy get close enough to do serious damage, and she does this by using cover, making the most of her long beam (and how you can duck behind cover for a second or so without the beam breaking), and using her mobility.
Only thing better than spectating a bronze game, is watching you spectate them.

I feel for Yessica. I am a support main in bronze and have literally chased a rein shield so I can survive a DVA bomb only to have the rein keep backing up and let me die. That has happened more than once and I screamat my computer every time "HELLO?!?!?"
Yeah, everybody knows that the Rein is supposed to go *toward* the Dva bomb, so they can get more people behind their shield. That way, more of their teammates can die when the Rein gets slept, hacked, or CC'd. 😅😢😭
@@HiddenWindshield No one is saying that. Shields are unreliable to protect from Dva bomb bc they can break prematurely and stuff. It was just very obvious that Yessica GA'd to Santa because she figured he could protect her, then got fucked. He should have been paying more attention.

As a support main in plat, best tip I can give you is to NEVER rely on a teammate to get you out of anything. Always plan your escape, use the environment to shield you (it won't move away like every tank I play with lol) and super jump is your best friend against ground enemies, e.g. Tracer.

Yeah that Mercy carried him. He was dead weight this whole game, basically a bot. And I don't mean that in a mean way, he just runs in regardless of team or situation and doesn't do a heck of a lot then dies. Though I will say, if he can get remotely better at blocking anti-nades (tip: remember Ana's nade cooldown once you see her use it), he will have more chances to... improve other things. He's gotta turn down his sens A LOT, not sit on Shatter, and of course start praying to Yessica.
I have the impression he just wanted to please Flats with his description 🤣🤣🤣 He is telling he doesn't commit the same mistakes as the others and using his Flats terminology... IDK maybe it's better just to be a YEET Rein.

Yessica is the type of player that knows what they're doing but will never get out of bronze because of players like Santa, and will get yelled at every game as well . . it's amazing how many experts are in bronze both directions, like there's people that actually know what they're doing but are hard trapped, but so many more that like to talk but can't play and just suck the desire to live right out of you.

One thing I have learned from playing with my bronze friends, they don't understand to read the kill feed. So as far as Santa is concerned, it's always a 6v6, even when it's a 4v5.
And sometimes when it's 6v3 they think it's 6v6 and hide behind a cover instead of pushing. :D

This is just more proof how absolutely horrible ELO hell is for Mercy in particular.
While I don't disagree, it could also serve as a sliver of hope, because actually, she won the game. So, maybe it can be proof you can have an impact and can carry with Mercy. (I am saying this, because I want to believe it is true, as a support player in low gold)
The mercy just needs one thing to climb, remember that GA can be cancelled.
Yep, change toggle GA from the default. (It can be cancelled with default but you have to double-tap shift instead of only letting go of shift, so it's more responsive and makes for more precise positionings)
Yeah she could have prevented at least 2 deaths by just cancelling.

Or turn off toggle GA. Holding shift for it is superior.
@@BuddyIsGarbage Agreed. It's super easy to cancel on console but I'm learning it's way harder with the standard settings on PC. I just tweaked my settings and turned my sensitivity down and it's waaaaaay better.

I am mainly a healer and like playing Anna, I've been in silver before and usually get placed mid-high bronze but this season I'm stuck in the sesspit that is bronze. Though I do solo queue. I know the feeling..

As a fellow Mercy player that's had to work their way up from bronze, I feel for Yessica, she had the world on her shoulders
I feel this mercy's pain. It's hard to climb when a good mercy can be dragged into a loss by her team. Other supports force rotations which means pushes can be carried in the right direction but mercy can only ask nicely on mic :/

@@Nacif8 understandable, I'm personally not a one trick. I do swap off if my team doesn't push, and I hardly play mercy since baptiste came out, but on a map like Hanamura or Busan Market, she can really help the DPS carry the fight. I was just commenting my thoughts. Poor yessica, is all.

This reminds me of my buddy who mains Mercy. He is absolutely cracked but got placed in bronze. He has full grasp of mechanics, has game sense, knows how to play the team but had terrible placement games. It’s discouraged him from playing comp
tell him to learn Moira and Brig, I’m a Mercy main who fell to bronze and playing less Mercy really helped! Playing Moira and Brig isn’t as fun as Mercy I know but you need to if you want to climb (and there are definitely some games where Mercy works, don’t confuse me for saying to NEVER play Mercy but she shouldn’t be your first pick in bronze)
BS, he's probably one of those clueless mercys who heals the feeding hog more than the dpss. If you ask for a pharah and pocket her 100% of the time with mercy you will autowin like 80% of the games in silver/bronze. And no, he doesn't have mechanics nor game sense otherwise he would just valk on cd and clear the enemy back line. Get real and tell him to never play mercy as main healer like in this vid, no matter what that ml7 video says

Because some people are good players but do get sucky teams who do telport away like reaper. Who leave you to die like some tanks. Who don't have good game sense as well. 14:05 The mouse shaking is from clicking the mouse 1 button very fast. The overwatch devs said before that if you simply hold down the m1 button, then guns and everything will fire at the fastest possible speed that they made them to be. So no need to spam-click m1.

Enemy junk traps are almost impossible to notice for me while I’m playing for some reason. If I watch the game back I notice them though.

For me, I always thought about how if you play to the character as a person, you do so much better. As young Reinhardt would be arrogant and rush in, older Rein (the one you play as) is about shielding your team and striking when it’s the right time. This was a young Rein moment.

@@santabeast7291 I had the same problem, I used to play at an insanely high sens and never managed to get out of silver, after finally switching to low sensitivity I managed to climb to high diamond across three seasons.

If you want to win as a Mercy in the rotten wood ranks you need to learn Moira and Brig and switch when needed, which Yessica didn’t. (I will link you my gaming channel if you don’t believe that I’m a silver mercy main btw)

This is HILARIOUS here, but really annoying when it happens to you as Junkrat. I can't count the amount of times I've had a Genji dead to rights without his upgraded reverse Kinetic Grasp and I die because he's allowed to double jump while trapped.

i think yessica definitely knows how/when to damage boost, but is just nervous because they're running mercy/zen
(im the same way on mercy/zen or mercy/lucio comps, i prioritize healing over dmg boost)
I'm learning how to balance this myself. It all depends on your team though. Because when Mercy is damage boosting and the other support isn't healing, it's gonna be a bad time. 😮💨

in my experience in gold as mercy you more or less want to find the one person on your team that has the gold damage and pocket them as much as possible even if they're a tank or support. I say as much as possible because you should never neglect easy heals
