    Thanks for the tips. For your first tip on smooth motion I would add a tip to record past your desired scene. What sucks almost as much as jerky camera movements is getting home to realize that you cut the flight segment too short and missed an opportunity for a more dramatic scene. Better to record a bit beyond your scene and not use that extra footage than to be left with wanting more.

    • @TheDroneCreative
      @TheDroneCreative  Год назад +1

      This is actually a fantastic tip. I agree. It also allows you to cut out the best and smoothest part of a clip and still have enough to use in a sequence. Thanks for sharing!

    Yesterday - I, made the mistake of re-centering the DJI Mini 3 Pro whilst in flight and it looked rubbish so I ended up having to edit the video by splicing it and putting a transition in!

    I think that you could improve your videos even further by including some subtle transitions. I always find a hard cut between scenes is a bit jarring. It is much easier on the eye if there is a (very) short transition between scenes. I use a simple fade and stay away from all the gimmicks. A fade of somewhere around .2-.3 seconds works for me. It just makes the result smoother, and smoothnesses is king. Keep up the good work. Your videos are always very watchable, useful, informative and mercifully, devoid of silliness

  • @PaulTomblin
    @PaulTomblin Год назад

    I'm surprised how well the changes work without transitions. I guess that goes back to your advice to make sure they're very different from each other. I normally put transitions at every cut, but I'm going to try it your way.

In my head I know I should get a variety of shots, but it's still a challenge to actually do that when I'm out flying. It's also really helpful to see this tip worked out on a variety of different landscapes...from cliffs in your other videos to a path by the water (much more like my everyday opportunity to film), it helps my brain envision those perspectives and camera movements across different scenarios.

    1. How did you start the motors just having one hand holding the RC?
    2. How does this launching technique come into play with RTH landing accuracy later?
    3. If you hand launch, do you automatically hand catch and if so, do you leave the obstacle avoidance on or off for the landing?

    Again very good Matthew thankyou. Do you bother with exposure compensation while shooting in snow? with a normal say DSLR camera, the white snow usually underexposes the scene because the sensor sees bright white and compensates. I normally give it an extra stop of exposure which usually solves the problem. However this may not be a problem shooting video?

    Love your work.
    Here's one that may or may not have been covered by now.
    What 4k video editing software do you use.
    I have a Lifetime Membership with AVS Video Editor - and I've really enjoyed it so far.
    It handles 1080p no probs.
    The newer versions support 4k - but man, a 5 min clip at 4k takes an age to load into the editor - and then it locks and farts around "caching" and stuff.
    I can't handle it anymore.
    If you could suggest some simple to use 4k editing software that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, it would be interesting to hear any recommendations.
    I'm using Win 10 with a semi-decent middle of the road graphics card.
    A couple of hundred bucks Software to fit the bill would be ideal.
    Ongoing subscriptions - Neh.
    I don't have the perpetual money-tree printer that they seem to think all of us have 😎

    Hi, fantastic channel. I've just purchased the dji mini 3. I have a youtube channel. I'm a a disabled wheelchair bound photographer and videographer. I was wondering if you could help please. How do I edit the clips? Do I need a LUT? Or just insert into timeliness and no editing needed. I have also bought some ND filters. Thanks in advance
