    The best thing I love about Gulp is, when the juice spills out of the container and end up in my tackle bag, dripping down my leg. The ladies love the smell.

      Can they tell the difference from the smell dripping down their leg?

    Thank you. Your the first one that rig the lure correct. Up till now everyone has rig upside down. Great job

    I used one of these this week for the first time. Didn't catch anything but some small fish did eat the antenni off, which I got a good laugh out of. Happy fishing!

      Yes, the small extremities of Gulp shrimp typically don't last very long. But that doesn't hurt their ability to catch fish. In this video, I caught a 38" snook on a Gulp shrimp that had everything but the top 2 inches of its core torn off: www.saltstrong.com/articles/catch-snook-in-rain/

    I just noticed the new softness two days ago. The new pack of gulp swimming mullet was super super soft. Putting them on a Texas rig with 1o ewg hook would split the head. The bait only lasted two saltwater bass before they tore it up to the point of no return. Went thru half a pack in just 3 hours. Definitely catches fish but think I'm going to stick with other plastics plus smelly jelly / pro gear for the price.

      Hopefully they fix the material issue soon so that they are as strong as they used to be.

    I can sadly admit my rithym sucks lol. Been trying to make it consistent, twitch twitch pause is a great cadence, pretty sure it's contributing to my lack of strikes. Thx for the video...great info.

    I gave it a thumbs up, the underwater and tips is good stuff. I noticed that you had mentioned the bait needs to be centered, that's when I kinda lost interest.. The jig head wasn't really in the center.. But still a great video. The underwater footage I love for sure!

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  6 лет назад

      The hook doesn't have to be perfectly centered... as long as there are no twists or kinks in the bait, it should have good action in the water. The ultimate test is to see if it twists around during the retrieve.

    I save my old gulp that the tails get bitten off of and cut them up in small pieces and put it back into the gulp juice and use them tipping jigs

      Yes, the small pieces are surprisingly effective for tipping jigs and catching baitfish when chopped into small pieces as shown in this post: www.saltstrong.com/articles/how-to-catch-pinfish/

    They definitely attract attention. But the new ones don't last much. I went through four of them in no time. They small fish kept pecking at them and tore them up really quick.

    What action and length is your spinning setup?

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  6 лет назад

      I typically use 7'6" rods that have fast action blanks... seems to enable the best feel and casting performance. Here's a link to see the rod used in this gulp shrimp video: www.saltstrong.com/articles/bull-bay-assault-spinning-rod-review/

    Use an injector and u can inject all ur soft plastics there are some tough ones that u can catch a ton of fish with one bait and just reinject from time to time

      You are right! I don't buy products that I KNOW are designed to cynically gouge me.
      They are softer so you have to buy more, to catch the same amount of fish. Pass...

    So... They catch fish, but... They made them more fragile/soft, so you have to buy more of them to catch the same amount of fish. Good business. Bad ethics. Pass...
