- Holy Moly! I had to do the whole shebang to keep the grass under control! Mowed front, sides, neighbor patches, back, back back, edged, trimmed, rotary scissors, went to the store 😂 This long video makes up for the past couple rainy days I couldn't get out there 😊🤙🏾

Just threw down some seed two weeks ago for a 3x3 bare patch. Pregerminated it for 3 days and then threw it out and covered with crop covering/fleece. It germinated and is established even with these low temps in Portland. Totally recommend. Debating getting larger strips to use for every overseed instead of peat moss. Keeps it like 10 degrees warmer soil temp compared to uncovered!
Oh yeah!!! I keep seeing fleece covers I’ll def try it at some time for sure would be nice to get warmer temps under those coverings! The back back though you know the city workers will run over the fleeces 😂😂😂🤙🏾🔥🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I've been doing some pre-germ this spring. One yogurt carton at a time, not a whole bucket. Even if you don't add water for a day, the seeds are all wet in the middle and clump together. I've been mixing with top soil and then manually spreading over local areas and dead spots. Pre-germ works, but getting them spread into the lawn is the hard part.
Method I have seen by doing the big bucket is mixing it in with like a whole bag of milo so the seed actually dries out a bit then you can put it in your spreader and shoot it out.
Yes once I see a little sprouts I’ll be mixing it in with milorganite for sure! 😊🙏🏾🤙🏾🔥

Very nice. Another method that works that require even less water is get some top soil, pour in a container, seed the seeds and water it lightly and cover it with plastic. Put it in ur garage and 5 days it'll sprout. Try it out, great method to fill in spots.

@@YardBrah I was putting up a new bike mount system on the wall and took all the shovels and rakes down then tripped over my own mess put my foot down right on the tines that somehow got flipped over in the commotion and stabbed through the shoe the sock and into my foot about 1/4 inch. It happens so fast I didn’t know I was punctured until I realized I was dragging the rake behind me. I couldn’t walk for a few days

The Ego mowers and some of the others look like they can fold and be placed on your shelving. Thin out your shed enough to move around in the shed and it a lot more convenient to get to your most used equipment. Yard looks sweet dude. 🎉

Dang! Was about to ask about this pre-germination method as I've come across content on my feed. Curious about trying this, but may have to do it in the fall, as I've already pre-seeded my yard for the spring. Method may be helpful for me as I've got ton of birds feeding on my lawn despite putting down peat moss. Look forward to how that turns out for ya! Yes this is the first time doing the monggo bean method 😂😂😂 hopefully it works! Good choice on the rotary scissors best tool ever and as for the playlist I use epidemic sound and pick all their best tracks!

FYI, the seed coating is gonna give you some problems. Try to rinse off as much of that coating off as you can.. this method works best with uncoated seed.
Yes I’m changing the water every 24 hours to get rid of that coating for sure 😊🤙🏾🙏🏾🔥

Do you have to wash the seed your pregerminating like you wash rice?
The sprayer work much better if you put a bunch of drops of light oil on the outside of the "uppy downy" bit.

So there is a coating on the seed this first 24 hours pretty much god rid of all that thick coating, and I changed the water… I’m gonna change the water everyday till I see it germinate! Like I said this is the first time I’ve done this so I’m along for the ride 😂😂😂😊🤙🏾🙏🏾🔥
@@YardBrah Go farther then, pull the cotter pin and take it apart, see if the o-ring and other washers are straight and true.
Dielectric grease on the rings and oil on the udt. ( uppy downy thingy) and it will make better pressure.
Do all the connection points with the rubber safe grease, even a bit of Teflon plumbers tape.
Sometime the nine year old Chinese girls that assemble them are unable to tighten the connections very well.

Funny story last year I was talking to Jesse @lawnlife as was like bro there is this thick bladed grass in front that gets darker than any of my other cultivars! What is it… he was like “sexy invasive weed?” 😂😂😂😂 figured out it was Kentucky 31 tall fescue 😂 since then I’ve wanted to plant an entire area with it! It gets stupid dark green and thick like the st. Augustine if the cool season crew 😂😊🤙🏾🔥🙏🏾

5lbs per 1000sqft and no I just let the rain do it’s thing, if it wasn’t raining I would have watered it in for at least 15 min 😊🤙🏾🔥🙏🏾

Hey bro, what's the difference between the ammonium sulfate and high Nitorgen fertilizer?
Well long explanation short Ammonium Sulfate contains 21% Ammonical Nitrogen so it's instantly available to your lawn. Also contains sulfur which is a nice addition to our micronutrients collection in the lawn! sulfate instant nitrate longevity ish depending on soil acidity...
The main difference between nitrate sulphate: nitrate is the result of a reaction between ammonia and nitric acid sulphate is produced when ammonia reacts with sulfuric acid.
usually 46-0-0 Urea is a nitrate fertilizer, ammonium nitrate suits better for acidic soils while ammonium sulphate better suits alkaline soils... whole different subject we could spend hours on 😂🤙🏾

@@YardBrah alright cool! Just had a look at my local store online and they have a 5kg bag of it. I’ll need approx 45g per sqm so 4.5kg for 100sqm. On the bag it says the lawn needs to be wet when throwing the product down, then heavily watering it in. Correct? So I’ll need to irrigate the lawn first unless it’s rained, and then apply it all & re irrigate the lawn? Also, will it still do it’s thing if temps are cooling down to 21 degrees or so and Sydney is heading into winter in June? Is it like granular fert that needs warm temps to break down and work??

The front is everything cool season grass 😂😂😂 literally every cultivar perennial rye, Kentucky blue, tall fescue you name it I got it 😂 it’s cut at 3/4” 😊🤙🏾🔥🙏🏾

Yeah man all the golf course guys here in Scottsdale use ammonium sulfate and gypsum. No brand name stuff. Lowers PH in clay soil, feeds like crazy, and the gypsum softens and loosens soil. That’s pretty much all they use. They’re not loading up on brand names on the golf courses! Simple, cheap, and it works!

@@YardBrah for sure. Gypsum is a staple and super cheap. Not marketed much but basically it’s calcium sulfate. That plus ammonium sulfate is all that’s needed to get it done. Occasional PK added here and there.
