      it must cost alot using bags of topsoil..ive found nails and plastic in westland,its hardly a quality product..after a few days in the sun it turns grey..like old spent dirt.,but people flock to the weed free label...a huge compost pile causes a fire.which they want to make it weed free..they add sand and bag it up .then charge the earth for it..

    You need to go back like about a month later and follow up to see how your work has helped. Explaining what scarification does is good but to actually see it in action. aeration is good for damp grounds, you need to aerate it, great. But then follow up and say last month we aerated, this month the ground is great. Last month we levelled it off with top soil, this month we’re back and we can see the level lawn, and it’s greener. Before and after (perhaps 1 month). Hope it helps love the vids.

    Hi - thanks for this and your other videos. They’re becoming serious watching for me! My wife thinks it’s quite sweet ! I have an issue. We removed and stumped a small tree from the middle of our lawn. We filled the circular space left with soil (about 2.5m diameter) and turfed it. Subsequently it’s sunk leaving about a 5cm indent in the lawn. Very noticeable to the eye and mower. Do I have to lift the turf and refill with soil? Or can I top dress it with 5cm depth of soil, foot pressing etc and then reseed? This would be my preference but I’m not sure how the seeding will interact with the turf below. Many thanks for your insight.

Only the lower part of the lawns get shade from the garden fence, trees and my top lawn shade from a tree and the house. Im getting increasing amounts of sun, less and less rain. I reordered all my grass seed having realised I might do better to order AM24 premiership pro grass which is supposed to be a bit more drouģht resistant with its deeper roots but wonder if you would mix types using say different grass for shady areas or flat areas? Or areas that get a bit more foot traffic? Just curious. give it a good watering leading up to aerating and especially the day before.. it will soften the soil up.

    Hello I'm wondering if this lawn aeration device can be used to buy a used or new one, or maybe something manual, because the area is not large. I'm from Slovenia and you can't get that here. Thanks Lp Uros

    Hi Robbie, Is it best to put soil down first then overseed. Always thought you overseed first then add the top dressing of top soil on top of the seed?

    Hi Robbie great video as always, my scarrifier has two drums one with tines and one with blades, always been told to use the tine drum but guys like yourself use the blades, is it just down to how harsh you want to be on the lawn or do these drums have different functions? Cheers 👍

      he has a scarifier, most likely a domestic one and some come with 2 interchangable sets of teeth, one is like fingers (tines) and the other is the rectangle piece of metal(blades). my electric bosch has the blades. i imagine the spring tines pull out moss to an extent but the blades allow the deeper cut into the soil.

    Why would you chose top soil for leveling the lawn when sand is more suitable for this kind of a job? Golf greens are 80 to 100 % sand so it would work nicely...

      Why would you use sand, it provides nothing to the lawn

    • @tomvoh
      @tomvoh 3 года назад

      @@Premier_lawns_official IMHO, ff leveling is the main purpose, I would go for sand since it cannot be compressed so easily. Also it brings more air, nutrients and water for the roots.
