Congrats to the 100k subs. You are so worth it. No nonsense, no bs, just fixing cars giving us very good advice how to do it ourselves. Love it! Cheers mate. 😁🍻👌
After finishing the entire episode I've just gotta say, this was absolutely incredible! Not long to go until the E28 is complete and on the road, the transformation is just fantastic!
Dear Memphis, you stumbbled upon, the Mecca, of BMW Restoration channel, M539 Restoration, Sreten is very good at doing what he does best, you are not far from him either, you did a very great job restoring this classic to its original state, I really hope that this summer, you will enjoy this car and be proud of the work, effort, stress, money and dedication you put all togheter in this project, I am 100% sure that you have enjoyed doing this, and therefore, you deserve this car to be your Icon, along with the Golf and all your other projects, wish you luck and keep doing what you do the best! You are the best! 🙏
I am impressed by your work, you and M539 Restorations are really interesting to follow even if BMW is not my favorite brand but you show that you get far if you dare to try. Congratulations to 100k followers.
Wow, what a transformation. Honestly Memphis, I think you’re some kind of genius. Your knowledge, skill, patience, sense of humour and command of the English language is extraordinary. I’m not sure you’re all that great at making soup though 😉. Great video, as always 👏👏👏
I guess you have watched Sretens channel (M539Restorations) and his awesome (read ocd) blasting of motor parts? Keep up this good channel!!! Greetings from Stockholm Sweden.
Mate, by far the best engine bay and engine clean up video I have ever seen. Your attention to details goes above and beyond. Thanks for sharing the details!
Great to see a new video from you, Memphis. They are always a real treat. The BMW is my second favourite of your cars. Greta the diesel Volvo 240 Estate sealed the deal for me. My own daily driver, regardless of weather, is the 1990 Volvo 240DL Estate that Ma bought new for her 60th birthday.
Hi from uk👋👍 great job on e28 so much love and respect for your motors that you save and proud to follow you man 👍 you did really great job here my friend well done👌 thank you for your time and be safe see you soon 👍👋
Honestly, I was just expecting a bit of soapy water, some cleaning solutions, and a brush and hose. WOW, did you get into it!! That makes me want to go and do the same for my A4 and Q7, like right now! A clean engine is a happy engine - and that was a great show of maintenance/upkeep and deep clean at the same time. Thanks!
Memphis, dude, awesome video, so gratifying, what a transformation. Very much worth the wait. Maybe I’m not the norm, but I think waiting for the next video adds to the excitement of what’s coming. If people gripe about not having content delivered every week, then that’s their problem, maybe the should try to even do the projects you do without recording video. They likely have no idea how hard it is to both work a project like this AND record it in a comprehensive manner. “Good stuff Maynard!” You and Ronald Finger always deliver great videos, and because I have to wait a while for one to pop up, it makes me so happy to see it. So don’t worry about apologizing for taking time to upload something, because it is always awesome when you do. Let’s hear the before and after of that idle air control valve when it comes in. That will be cool, too. Also, only because I’m so partial to the MK1 Golf, take her to a Car & Coffee kind of thing and show her in the mix. That might help you over the 100k subs. You could also try some collab with Ratarossa, if the UK isn’t too far a trek for you. Cheers mate!
@@padraigrab08 I like when YT’rs are genuine, not pretentious. Along with Memphis, and Ronald, I also like Sarah-n-Tuned, mostly for the same reasons, but she’s also very easy on the eyes, which can sometimes be a distraction. I would dig a collab with Memphis & Ratarossa, even if it’s just sourcing some parts, or learning some restoration techniques.
Always a good day when you upload! Been around since 20k subscribers, and you still deserve a lot more :) One of the best automotive content along with M539 !
Some really pleasing and impressive results after cleaning up those engine bits! Nice work. Also had a good chuckle along the way with your jokes too 😝
Well done Memphis that looks absolutely AS NEW. So pleased for your 100k subscribers as well you're doing a thoroughly professional, educational and witty job. 👍👍
I replaced my intake manifold on my M20b20 today too, I have an early E30 with the same engine and I've been having idle issues too. Took me almost a year to find another additional air slide valve which ended up costing me a whole engine to get. I tried everything to unblock it and the best thing I did was put it in the oven a few times at a high temperature and then let it sit. The inside blockage turned to powder and I was able to knock it out. Great video really enjoyed watching it even though I've done the same thing to my car lol 🤘
Great video Memphis, I really enjoyed this long video, I'm already looking forward to the 100k special.....thanks, you are 1 of the best car channels on RUclips imo....👍👍👍
Always an excellent video!!! I look forward to watching your videos, they are methodical and detailed, a satisfaction to watch how all your jobs are completed. THANK YOU!!!!
Great Video.. luv watching the videos on the E28 .. reminds me of my old E28 .. same color too... never should have sold it ... 2 things 1 - the original stamped steel camshaft sprocket is a know defect and tends to crush and send the engine out of time ... it has been repalced by an upgraded cast metal one by BMW and a good thing to change to avoid a costly head / valve job... don't ask me how I know ;-) 2 - Nice to see you improvised a fan removal / installation tool similar to the one BMW sells .... the BMW one is quite expensive... another option is to put an appropriately sized pin in the hole and put it in the bolt hole Keep up the good work
Great video Memphis! The difference is night and day and the car looks fantastic. The added bonus was the Citroen’s. We don’t see too many here in Canada unless they are hiding. I have seen a couple 2CV at shows. Keep up the great content!
Super job. I did a similar process on my Mercedes 190e but admittedly not as comprehensive. It just makes the engine bay so much nicer to work on. Well done. BTW I would be very happy if the new project was a Mercedes 190 😉
Great video Memphis. Very methodical approach with excellent commentary, you've taken 20 years off that engine bay. That old timing belt was definitely on the way out, glad you didn't skimp on any of the associated parts or gaskets either. She really sounded sweet when you started her up, probably due tot he tighter timing and clean injectors. That E28 looks cooler by the day, I think you're gonna have a blast this summer. Keep up the great work and thanks for creating, editing and uploading these videos dude. 👍😎
Oh, wow, I got introduced to your channel with the 100K subs video and now I can't stop watching. My dad used to have a 520i, it was the first car I was driving when I got my license. I'm so tempted to get one, but I don't have a garage and absolutely no experience. And I'd love to have a 3-door Saab as well… Can't wait to see how the rust holes are getting fixed. I once tried to get one, but the doors where always rotten away and I would not know how to fix it.
Top video.
Great work on the engine bay, massive difference! Those idle control valves can be annoying indeed, mine seems to be acting up lately too luckily i managed to source a brand new one.
Congratulations on 100K subscribers Memphis.... Informative video on the E28, it definitely turned out "clean! When are you doing content on the VW Mk1 (my personal favorite) and the Mini?
Vielen dank broo, finaly you put your love again to your e28, awesome video as always, a stunning result mate and tbh I am so happy to see a glimpse of old citroens there, ahahaha maybe someday you can manage yourself to have or bring some citroen project to your workshop, an old cx perhaps mate? I am pretty sure you will get addict once you drive one, cheers from Indonesia broo
Thank you for sharing your experience professional work with passion. Before I watch your video I advise my son to do the work in his e28 520 87, best regards,

M539 Restorations will be proud
A 40 minute Memphis video? On the E28 of all cars? I'm so in! This is going to be epic!
This is my first time watching this channel. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Love that you also watch M539 Restoration
Getting a hint of M539 Restorations and i love it!!
