- Marty Friedman, then of Megadeth, gives a guitar lesson / clinic in LA in August 1992.
We'd met him and Megadeth a few weeks earlier after camping out to be in the audience when they appeared on Arsenio Hall.
The now famed ultra-runner and racing athlete Michelle Barton gets her guitar signed at the end
I taped this myself and finally had it transferred to digital today. Видеоклипы
My No.1 guitar player Marty you will never see like him he's very unique
An extremely rare live version of a piece from Scenes! That’s incredible!
Marty is a living legend.
Marty’s vibrato and pick attack are so tight.
Some of the coolest raw Marty footage I've ever seen. He was so in the zone during this time period.
Thank you so much for this upload!
glad you enjoyed ! The tape was lost in storage for decades
he is really giving me the goosebumps. the world needed marty friedman, without him i would never hung to megadeth (specially rust in peace)
8:10 10:54 12:59
The way he holds the pick and his wrist movements are totally crazy!
I love how when his hair touches the fretboard magically his playing gets better.
Loved it 👍
Yeah, and from 3:29 through 4.13 was great.
It’s part of being a virtuoso
I never knew he had performed valley of eternity live... it's one of my all time favorite pieces of music
I love this song from Scenes his best work
Totally agree
Valley of Eternity in the begining. Scene's is amazing
Agreed its my favorite album and Valley of Eternity is my favorite song
thank you for releasing this. i have been watching marty friedman content for years and years and i have never seen this. i really wish i could see more of him in his prime
He is still in his prime.
@@Shahaaimhe is still as good but his style changed
@@alluringskull2133how do you think it changed
Thanks for the upload!
Thanks for uploading, class!
Love Marty’s playing!
Still don't know how Marty is rarely included in the "best of all time" list but he sure as FUCK belongs there. Criminally underrated - and no I don't care about Megadeth fans knowing I'm talking global music scope which is infinitely bigger than Megadeth.
If you mean that rolling stones list then yea, that list was BS. Having Kirk Hammet with Hetfield on spot 22 and other no name guitarists there but no Friedman.. He is underrated, he is memorable and his style is very unique for sure.
Thank you so much for posting this!
1:56 great melody and run
Very pretty footage, man! Thanks for sharing this to the world
Thank you so much for sharing!
Really cool, thanks for uploading this.
my favorite look of Marty Friedman 1992-1994
That insane solo bit after tornado 🔥oh my god. 😳
I love this album, I really want to see him playing more of this
Thank you!
I saw Marty with Megadeth in the 90's. Just an incredible guitar player. I'm also familiar with his solo stuff and Cacophony as well.
Loved this album.
thanks a lot for this content
5:01 such a great line from Scenes
which song is it from?
@@hedgehog51Valley of Eternity
Awesome!! Thanks!!!!!!!!
Thanks for uploading this this is the Classics young Friedman wow this is Rare
You’re welcome, it’s more than rare lol I filmed it myself and found it in a box while digitizing old VHS during the pandemic. I’m glad folks are enjoying it
This Marty kid is going to be famous someday! He has some chops!
Invaluable stuff, thanks so much for uploading it! Seeing clinics of Marty really helps learning these solos and playing in his style, especially when the footage is pretty damn good for 1992.
Also, lucky me for finding your channel through a comment you made on a review of the dpa 4099 microphone, ha!
Guitars used to wail. Now they sound way too smooth and forgiving
...aarrgghhh!!!....my wrist...the way use the pick.😮
Marty & Gilbert two of my OLD ALL time favs guitarists 🎸🎸🤘🤘😍😍..
Wow, this takes me back. I spent a year in LA at MI Sep 90 - Sep 91, and was five minutes too late to make it in to Boardner's to see them as Jake and the Rattleheads. Where was this clinic? Thank yo SO MUCH for sharing this!
i was at MI the summer of 92. This was outside of a guitar store somewhere along the i5
they had a lot of technical problems on the Arsenio Hall show trying to set up. Everyone else there was expecting Kris Kros or something; me & my girlfriend were the only ones getting loud for them; on the playback on TV it sounds like there's an audience cheering but it wasn't like that in the room haha So on the commercial break Dave came over to us to thank us. After the show we went around to the parking lot and found them and hung for a little bit and took some pictures with a funny little spy camera I'd snuck in to the show and Dave said "is that a camera? you could hide that right up your ass!"
@@jaikwillis Haha, very cool!
@@jaikwillis LOL. At least you didn't have a laser pointer on you.
Valley of Eternity ❤️
Marty has magic in his hands. No one else can play like him.
tiempos en que el esfuerzo era bien visto!
Gracias Marty, gracias....
He must be the best guitarist in the little people group.
Pure magic.
Marty Friedman king 👑
6:55 he did it oh my God
So much style
if marty had a watch on his right hand it was seem like he always check the time
wooooooow🤘🏿
Sickkkkk
Still don't think I've ever seen anyone hold the pick the way he does.
10:12 did marty said he's done a clinic at mi? would be great to see that footage
I was there ...a guitar center parking lot. He would not sign my Jason Becker guitar...he said I just can't .
That’s wild. I don’t know what their relationship was post cacophony. Do you spot yourself in the video?
@@jaikwillis he thought highly of Jason.
This aint normal! 2 guuud
Ive always thought marty should do a album with Yngwie malmsteen... both have stellar vibrato and intonation, i think they would complement each others unique style to form a badaSS album!
For the people who don't know Nick Menza plays on that track as well.
this guy is a high source for music
Hey, can I do some remaster work on this?
PLAY THE REAL FINAL SOLO FROM VALLEY OF ETERNITY !!!
He has played it in Japan 2-3 times..
I think he was just improvising here...
Wish we had footage of him playing it
Is this the entire clinic??
I bet that crowd wish they had the I phone back then😢😂
I’d give anything to erase smartphones from existence.
@@oopsydaizi3s824 if it weren't for smartphones how would we be able to livestream sideshows?
Back when Jackson guitars weren't complete garbage
Zacks good but he don't smoke randy rhoads zach is very influenced in the petatonic style while randy has a wide range of styles in his arsenal
you named two different people in this comment, are you actually talking about “zakk wylde” or two other guys
Original
Friedman's stuff with Megadeth is legend, whereas I didn't connect with his solo stuff at all.
That is why he could not play with Megadeth more than 10 years. His way of expression is too wide.
Zakk smokes Randy? The one time I'll disagree with Marty.
Zack NEVER smoked Randy. Let's make that CLEAR. This dude talkin shit.
What was marty´s answer at that question? 14:22
What kind of head is that?
Crate maybe
Ive heard he used carvin when he joined megadeth and also played through Crate “Blue Voodoo” half stacks live
@@oopsydaizi3s824his crate blue voodoo use was in the late 90s
How old is your iPhone
That's in 1992 🙂
This is excellent footage given the time it was recorded. Believe it or not, the world existed before smartphones.
Megadeth without him just be a trash metal band.
he was a star back then :D
0:03 kid with the red cap and glasses on the bottom right. ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Pues será muy Marty Friedman pero está desafinando con todo respeto!
12:58 GO OFF NICEEE
