Andy Reid is a hell of a coach, but to say he’s the best of all time is a stretch and a prisoner of the moment statement. Guys like Bill Belichick, Bill Walsh, Joe Gibbs, Chuck Noll are ahead of Andy.
Is Mahomes as good as Brady or not? Because people keep saying "Well Bill needed Brady to win!" But Reid hasnt won without Mahomes... how is this not the exact same thing? Coaches need good QBs to win multiple rings. Thats just how it is@daneberhardt8658
The right answer is Joe Gibbs is the greatest coach ever. Three rings with 3 different quarterbacks? Gibbs and that Hogs O Line were the system. He'd have 4 rings if the Raiders didn't cheat and know all the plays before the other superbowl as well.

Kyle going out to start the third with three straight drives running once? Baffoon. Dropping back 38 times with 15 empty backfields, against the best secondary. WTF are we doing here. Complete game management play calling clown show
Us Ravens fans have been saying the same thing about our team after we played the Chiefs. I dont understand why these coaches panic so much when they play Andy Reid. Just play your game

Colin is prisoner of the moment saying Andy Reid is better than Bill Belichick. Bill took down some of the greatest offenses in NFL history time and time again. Bills K-Gun, Greatest Show on Turf, Kyle Shanahan's Falcons & Sean McVay's Rams.
Kyle Shanahan is medically incapable of success it seems, his playcalling always deteroriates starting in the 3rd quarter of a big game, and Purdy’s offensive line did him no favors with the penalties and the swiss cheese stuff on basically every 3rd down. Purdy showed his mobility and his ability to find the open man, and his missed throws were more explainable than Mahomes’ missed throws. Purdy showed he has the goods to lead them for the next decade
At what point can everyone admit Kyle Shanahan is just an average at best HC with a stacked roster? His playcalling kept the Chiefs in it in the first half by not putting them away. Then in OT you take the ball first and kick a FG against Patrick bleeping Mahomes. Also to start OT he got bailed out of an attrocious 3 and out set of play calls cause of holding on the Chiefs so he shouldn't have even gotten points in OT. Kyle Shanahan is the Monstars losing to the Toon Squad.

Shanahan hasn’t learned from the past superbowl with jimmy g, niners we’re so successful all year round by running football, shanahan just wanted his own way. Didn’t worked his way, blamed defensive coordinator. Offense did not capitalize in forth quarter, purdy just simply panic when pressure was on his face. Reason watch again, he holds the ball in pocket too long, cause batted ball, sacks. Ain’t no next year for niners, they all want to get traded, just as long as shanahan is the coach they will not be successful.
The game was 100% on Kyle the defense was the highlight of the team and keep KC in checked for 3 really 4 quarters. The offense had multiple chances to win the game and couldn’t
Kyle needs the blame. He doesn't change on the fly and coaches scared. Chiefs talked about a play they ran they never practiced. Just threw it in there and it worked. They have the killer instinct.
All in all Brock played pretty well in his first sb, having to run a fits and starts all over the place bulls$&t offensive scheme. Deebo is payed and washed. This offense needs to be more the Drew Brees O. 1 moderately fast wr going out on pass plays with Deebo who can’t run routes, and a fullback playing the second, against top D’s won’t work anymore
I agree with John how Kyle needs to adapt his offense to the strengths of the players. Not having designed plays for Purdy to get out the pocket is a huge mistake! Andy Reid constantly adapts his offense to what his players do best. Time for Kyle to let his offense evolve!
He did but that was not the read. It was supposed to be a leak to Kittle over the middle. But yeah. Hard when Chris Jones is ready to mount Purdy. Our line sucks. The Chiefs d got to cheat because they knew Niners can’t run to the right
He was trying to hit Jennings who was also open. So he didn't fully miss the open man he just got hit too soon. The worst part about that play was it was a play action. Had it been a normal pass he would have been upright and had his eyes down field faster. He would have found Aiyuk and won the friggin game. But instead it was the nasty combo of slow developing play action and an unblocked Jones charging him.... Horrific.
True, but there's a video out on RUclips that shows Purdy's line of sight in that play. Jones completely blocked his view to BA, I'm sure if he saw BA he would've thrown it there.
The defense held Mahomes to 1 TD in regulation.....and that was with a short field after a turnover. But somehow...the DC was the problem? Too freakin funny
Kyle's system is too rigid, keeps players in a box, and if the scheme is crap there are no answers. Kyle wont win SB until he addresses his power trip.
Bill needs brady to get to the Super Bowl or even the afc championship game. Reid proved he can to the Super Bowl without Mahomes. Also all patriots Super Bowl mvp’s were offensive players, so it wasn’t belichick’s defense that won
I'd say the REAL shift happened when Reid started giving up play calling duties to coordinators. He used to be infamous for poor clock management, wasting timeouts, weird crunch time calls. But once he gave up that responsibility, Reid became a much better manager of the game. Kyle is too high on his own supply to give up the play calling duties, but I feel like he should
As long as Kyle Shanahan is the coach of the 49ers they'll never win a championship. He has proven that he shit himself when it matters most. Blow 1 double digit lead okay okay, blow a 2nd WTF, blow it 3 times ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING BRO!
That last TD pass play by Mahomes should have been flagged for illegal man down field. It was obvious that the double-teamed block on Javon Kinlaw was clearly more than a yard beyond the line of scrimmage. That should have been flagged, 10 second run off, game over. San Francisco got robbed of the SB. That was also bad clock management by KC (Andy Reid's weakness) that they intentionally snapped the ball with less than 10 seconds on the clock. Either that or unless KC know for sure that the referee would overlook any penalty. Hmmm...
@@TomDay-n6t Oh I have. I’m not saying he’s not a great coach. But how he just throws out belicheck and crowns Reid, wow. It’s just your typical Monday morning quarterback. Basically said it was all Brady for Belicheck, but doesn’t say anything for Mahomes with Reid.

Im not a big fan of "getting Purdy moving". In my mind, getting Purdy moving is the same as geting Purdy injured. Let the kid sharpen his skills. I think he will continue to get better. He is already extremely good. If he can get better by 5%, then he will beat Mahomey.
Someone said it earlier. We have to remember Purdy is not even a year removed from his surgery. He had no off-season because he was rehabbing most of the off-season. Future looks bright but man these opportunities don't come often, have to capitalize.
Colin wit his dumb takes. Reid is not a better coach than Belichick. The record proves it. Especially in the playoffs. And u could make the argument Reid had the most talent on the field.
Belichick was a good coach in Cleveland. That Browns franchise was in the dumps at that time. That 94' team had a chance to do something. Beat the Cowboys at home when the Boys weren't losing many season games. Colin Cowherd doesn't know what he's talking about. As usual.
The reason John is so good is his humanity and emotion. He’s logical, but he’s human, and not autistic. He doesn’t have a flat, boring affect, which everyone has fallen in love with. I find those people boring, dishonest, and borderline toxic. John is a regular dude, who has had some adversity, has some anger but wants to be a greater version of himself. He has human flaws and that makes him compelling. We have enough fake stoic, nerds with antisocial personality. I’ll take a real dude like John with some passion, intensity and balls anyday. He also has some solid, bold takes and isn’t afraid to go to where the truth is.
The heat should squarely land on Kyle Shanahan. His bullheadedness cost the 49ers this game. When one considers that Shanahan was overseeing the offense in the Atlanta Super Bowl, and was head coach of the 49ers in two others with zero wins one begins to understand why he is a good coach but not an elite one.😮
I still think the biggest % of blame pie goes to special teams. The 49ers might have missed opportunities to extend the lead, but the Chiefs were playing good defense. The Chiefs made many mistakes also. But the punt gave them a short field for an easy TD. And if it wasn't for the missed extra point, Mahomws would have to go down the whole field (which the Chiefs failed to do all game). The 49ers defense is great enough to stop Mahomes from getting 80 yards on a drive, but if Mahomes only has 40 yards to go, it's hard to not give up points. So it's all special teams fault.
@@Jimmy-LegsMahomes beat the Niners because he was given the opportunities granted by special teams misplays (on the part of SF) and great defensive plays (specifically that blocked extra point). SF defense was essentially stopping Mahomes cold for most of the game. He couldn’t drive down the field for the bulk of the game. The borked punt gave Mahomes a short field and essentially gave away a touchdown that otherwise was unlikely to ever happen. Between that TD and the missed extra point, KC wouldn’t have been in a tie game position and SF would have won. Play that game 10 times, and SF looked like they would’ve won it 6 or 7 times out of 10. Mahomes got the MVP, but the real reasons KC won were Jones and McDuffie
Stop it. Mahomes improvising skills is the best the game has ever seen. Andy Reid doesn't coach improvising plays, he allows it. Andy Reid is a great coach, but stop it with the whole he is the best ever talk. As long as Mahomes is healthy, Chiefs will contend. Without Mahomes they are a mid tier team. Great coach yes, best ever? Andy has to win with 2 different Qbs to at least start that conversation. Until then, relax on the All time talk. Media made that mistake with Belicheck and now they are back pedaling on those proclamations.

Shanahan lost the game in the first half with so many terrible calls. Niners were dominant but the bizarre calls putting them in 3rd and long was unbelievable. The game should have been done and dusted by halftime.
Mahomes has beat Jimmy G, Jalen Hurts and Brock Purdy. Montana beat Ken Anderson, Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason and John Elway. I know which one is still and forever will be the GOAT.
SF, cough....Special Teams kept KC in the game and cough, cough,...... "The Genius" Kyle Shanahan LOST IT with his play calling starting with taking the ball in OT and then Not playing for the TD by telling his team we're going to run the ball twice and get the 1st down or TD. Worst case scenario KC gets the ball with their backs in the end zone. Instead, The Genius, calls an out route with no protection for a blitz and then kicks a 🤬 FG and gives Patrick freaking Mahomes a must win 4 down scenario, in OT 🙄. Niners oline and defense got dominated, I didn't think play calling was the issue, it was penalties and the oline that kept putting the Niners in 2nd/3rd and long. They averaged 3.5 yards per carry, it's not like the run game was just blowing thru the Chiefs defense. I think Wilks was good in the 1st half, but as soon as Andy figured out what they were doing, they couldn't get stops. 455 total yards of offense? I think that's the 2nd highest output all year for K.C.
I feel bad for Brock. With that offensive line, they just let everyone through. The poor guy was running for his life almost every play. Most of the incompletions were directly due to heavy pressure. The fact that he was only sacked once is a testimony to him getting the ball out anyways. Or just moving around enough.
Heres my issue. People like Colin aknowledge that Andy Reid his entire career has taken mediocre QBs and made them look elite. We found out they wernt elite once they were no longer being coached by him. But with Mahomes these same people wont even entertain the notion that Andy Reid *MAYBE* is the reason Mahomes looks so good. And that maybe Mahomes is closer to a Dak or Justin Herbert than he is a Brady. You cant say that Andy makes all QBs look better except Mahomes doesnt benefit at all from him.
Only thing I disagree with John on is Nagy. Just because a QB likes an Oc doesn’t mean anything. QBs support bad OCs all the time because they like them but they don’t often do well.
Guys, we loss this game because of the many mistakes we kept making. CMC fumbled, Missed XP, Aiyuk ran the wrong route in the endzone, Greenlaw gets hurt, etc. I can't believe we made this many mistakes & Kyle should of went for it in OT for the TD. If we dnt get it, we pin them far in their endzone. Too many mistakes, as if this team is cursed. I'm so gutted after this loss, because we as a team loss this game including Kyle. Brock played like a stud & the defense did their job. Everyone else failed this team.
We're just not that good if we can't overcome some of the mistakes. Another SB where it sounds like we have to play a PERFECT game to win. Never gonna happen.
Honestly I dont think there should be heat on anybody...Its a tough loss for sure, but in reality the game comes down to us not being able to sustain the injuries of Greenlaw and Jayir on Defense, and the fact that we desperately need help at RG and RT. As soon as Feliciano went down and we couldnt rotate him with Burford between passing/running downs it was a wrap for our ability to get the ball out on time, and our ability to run the ball effectively. All we need is to reload and work our way back, Hufanga and Jayir should make a nice combo at the safety spots once theyre both healthy, if we add a good CB and either an RG or an RT (or both) we should be golden. As "stacked" of a roster as people claim it to be, nobody can throw the ball well behind a faltering Oline, and we were still in position to win at the end of the game. Hats off to both teams, I had a Giants and Cowboys fan at my house call this the most exciting superbowl theyve ever seen. The roster is (mostly) young, almost all of the key players are signed through next season, some even through the next as well, just can't let the negativity get to them.
Joe Gibbs did it with two mediocre quarterbacks, and one subpar quarterback, and Destroyed The other teams he was playing in the super bowl, but I never hear him mentioned. Belichick only won super bowls, and only was successful with Brady. Andy Reed has only one super bowls with Patrick mahomes ( still one of the greatest coaches though) Joe Gibbs did it with three quarterbacks that nobody remembers for how great they were.
Purdy didn't fumble on the first drive. He didn't miss the point after that changed the tone of the game. He wasn't the guy Mahomes ran past in OT. Team effort here.
Then Shanahan should’ve adjusted and not have Purdy dropback so much. Spags ate Purdy up alive with blitz. That was the time to use motion and have Purdy use his legs more.
@LongFatJohnston - Nobody said Shanny is perfect. But KS is still a top 5 coach and the offensive line is ranked #24. Why would you want to fix a strong link, when the o-line is your weakest link?
Kurt Warner has videos about it too. Even the intermediate and long passes the QB is expected to make are pretty difficult, it seems like it would be hard to find someone who can do it well
Purdy sure as shit didn’t help much, he’s the worst QB in his division on talent n ability alone. SFs need a truly elite QB if they’re ever going to get over the hump. SF really screwed them selves losing this game because they’re going to a sizable step back next season for season reasons and the NFCW will be far more competitive next year n one of the toughest divisions in football. SF really screwed the pooch😊
Get rid of Moody and Mckivitz for the start. Don't need Chase. If they don't improve the offense and defense next year, then I don't want to see the Niners go back to the Superbowl.
Bro, did you even listen they didn’t say that. If anything they are arguing Bill versus Andy Reid because if we look at Bill without Brady, his teams are awful but Andy Reid without the top quarterback. His teams are still competing from Alex Smith to Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, Jeff Garcia. He’s in the playoffs at least. Before Mahomes bill before and after Brady hasn’t been had success
Kyle Shanahan is the guy who also passes on giving Marshawn Lynch the ball at the 1-yard line for the win (Seahawks-Patriots) but throws it to the WR. It's more guru-like to do this than be boring at give it to the RB.
Yep. Mike was the reason they got there and hes the reason they lost purdy was doing his best and following instructions. There is no way mike shanahan knew the ot rules and didnt defer.

@daneberhardt8658 hold up.. I said Reid didn't win a SB before Mahomes... you said I'm incorrect then acknowledged that Reid never won a SB before Mahomes.
@@daneberhardt8658one of the reasons the Pats won so much is they had a dominant defense for 20 years but nobody wants to give credit to Belichick for that
Kyle going out to start the third with three straight drives running once?
Go back and watch. It makes sense after a quick review of the tape.
the run game wasn't really working. Purdy wasn't good enough, and Shanhan knew it and tried to hide him but wasn't good enough. 2 fumbles by the 49ers and you want to blame the coach? Kyle would have 3 super bowl rings with Josh Allen as his QB.
@@mass9504 Would have gone 19-0 with Allen. Kyle and John have failed at the qb position.
Yea you wood know what to do differently.
Gotta love people who question the best minds of the NFL and have probably never even played nor coached.
Trent McDuffie was a Top25 pick last year who’s already a 1st Team All-Pro in his 2nd year.
John was absolutely correct...Kyle is TRAGIC.
Bang Bang Niner Gang promised Super Bowl or Bust - Honor your word - !
The CMC fumble was a heartbreaker. I’d get rid of Deebo and use what we pay him for an O-line
You r nutts Deebo is good
GO NINERS 🇺🇸
If Andy Reid was coaching this Niners team they'd have won by two touchdowns.
You guys forgot to mention Joe Gibbs. His teams appeared in four SBs and won three with 3 different QBs. No other NFL head coach has done that.
49ers would of won had reid been coaching them. Kyle is stubborn to a fault.
Shanahan holding Brock back. Interesting take.
Andy Reid is from the Holmgren/Walsh coaching tree.
I agree with John how Kyle needs to adapt his offense to the strengths of the players. Not having designed plays for Purdy to get out the pocket is a huge mistake! Andy Reid constantly adapts his offense to what his players do best. Time for Kyle to let his offense evolve!
49ers lost to the best Qb and coach combo in the league today .
Purdy had a wide open Aiyuk in the endzone , but protection broke down. another give away win 🤮
Reid didn't win until he got Mahomes. Bill won with Brady, but 3/6 wins came from Bill's defense
Agreed but Reid drafted Mahomes while Shanny drafted Trey Lance. Reid found his guy and Shanny spent his picks on a lemon vehicle.
Hmmm...
The overreactions these days is crazy. Crowning Reid as best coach of all time. My goodness.
He is among the best
@@sterlingfury for sure he is

@@TomDay-n6t Oh I have. I’m not saying he’s not a great coach. But how he just throws out belicheck and crowns Reid, wow. It’s just your typical Monday morning quarterback. Basically said it was all Brady for Belicheck, but doesn’t say anything for Mahomes with Reid.
Shanahan trash play calls hurt his team plus he had his defense on field to long where the offense stalled
This is how you know you’re an all time great, if the media doesn’t like you they will minimize your success. Have we forgotten how dominant those Pats defense were for 20 years
MIke Shanahan is to blame too, he's the only guy that could have convinced Kyle to stick to the run when ahead in the super bowl but he must not have told Kyle to do it
@PurdyGood9er Dude 8-9 plays to open the 3rd quarter were passes.... ONE touch to cmc in the first 3 drives that all went 3 and out...... Kyle ALWAYS let's the defense dictate his run game. Stack the box Kyle passes every time.
@@PurdyGood9er CMC got 15 carries in 4 quarters. Don't let the OT fool you. This OLine isn't built for 5-wide, it's built for wide zone. That's why the Chiefs tried to take it away.
How the hell they didn't know the overtime rules while KC had discussed them and had a plan
They knew they just make excuses
As usual.
I knew Kyle would blow it again never fails all that yearly success for nothing
Was not missed extra point. Come on guys special teams blocked it
Mohomes beat the niners. Stop making excuses
1:10 exactly. I’ve been waiting for someone to say postgame about Kyle not scheming Purdy’s mobility.
I know some of it is the bottom ranked pass blocking O-line.
Shanahan isn't scheming Purdy's mobility because he's terrified of being accused of injuring another QB.
Idk how Colin and John linked up but being in NYC I never heared or seen John before..Dude is a real talent..I know he follows basketball and ive watched some of his takes on other sports and I'm eager to see if he could pivot now that the season is over and become a voice that matters in multiple sports
2 special team plays killed us, and the OT defensive wasn't good at all and, the injuries didn't help either.
Shanahan lost the game in the first half with so many terrible calls. Niners were dominant but the bizarre calls putting them in 3rd and long was unbelievable. The game should have been done and dusted by halftime.
It’s amazing how they defend the Regular Season Champs/Shanahan.
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Shannon stoped running the ball
Mahomes has beat Jimmy G, Jalen Hurts and Brock Purdy. Montana beat Ken Anderson, Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason and John Elway. I know which one is still and forever will be the GOAT.
He also lost to Brady. The actual goat
You didn’t outplay mahomes if you haven’t beat him
Purdy was just ok, when you have studs everywhere around you on offense, you have to do better than 23-38 for 255 yards.
Joe gibbs won 3 super bowls with 3 different qbs! Isn't that amazing
Literally EVERYONE knew that a FG wasn't going to beat the Chiefs. They have Patrick Mahomes, Kyle.....!

WHAT? YOU GOT A NEW QB WHO CANT BEAT MAHOMES
PURDY IS THE KING OF CHUCK AND DUCK. HE DOES IT ON EVERY THROW. THATS EMBARRASSING
To start missed xp? We blocked it. We had mistakes too but we didn't give up and won the game
We're just not that good if we can't overcome some of the mistakes. Another SB where it sounds like we have to play a PERFECT game to win. Never gonna happen.
John don’t let this 🤡 talk here for you’re take only
Kyle cant get it done. I had a feeling.
Hey John, just subbed here. Are you done with Guy??
Great job.
Deebo, Aiyuk and Kittle combined for 8 catches for 86 yards.....But Purdy had a great game?😂
Purdy didn't fumble on the first drive. He didn't miss the point after that changed the tone of the game. He wasn't the guy Mahomes ran past in OT. Team effort here.
Hint: O-line is ranked #24. Is Shanny or Purdy the 24th best? Ok, then.
@LongFatJohnston The problem is CMC wasn't really all that productive. He was averaging 3.6 yards a carry and had a fumble.
Watch the QB school and see how Kyles passing game has problems
Kurt Warner has videos about it too. Even the intermediate and long passes the QB is expected to make are pretty difficult, it seems like it would be hard to find someone who can do it well
Purdy sure as shit didn’t help much, he’s the worst QB in his division on talent n ability alone. SFs need a truly elite QB if they’re ever going to get over the hump. SF really screwed them selves losing this game because they’re going to a sizable step back next season for season reasons and the NFCW will be far more competitive next year n one of the toughest divisions in football. SF really screwed the pooch😊
It's uncanny how much Colin Cowherd and Charlie Berens look alike.
Without the Oline penalties that killed those drives, had they just stuck to the run they'd have won.
Call Bill for DC.
Do it
Get rid of Moody and Mckivitz for the start. Don't need Chase. If they don't improve the offense and defense next year, then I don't want to see the Niners go back to the Superbowl.
This is mad dumb. Mahomes and Andy aren’t better than bill and Brady. Please stop
Chris jones to the forty niners ?
Trade capital for Debo he is a beast when you don’t have a QB keep BA and Jennings they got the chemistry with Purdy
KC special teams came up big - FG kicker with five FG, punter with fifty yard average, blocked extra point, recovered fumble on punt.

They should use Purdy's legs in critical situations
The Nagy narrative is crazy lol they literally had they worst offense since Patrick been there but he'll get another job smh
Purdy is a god-tier level GAME MANAGER. The flaws in the Shanahan play call cannot be covered up by him. Mahomes can cover over other guys mistakes, purdy cannot. Purdy can be a champion but everyone has to do their job.
