    One thing I wish many builders did was alert viewers about the QVL for memory and board compatibility. I know for some it’s not an issue, but for myself I had issues in stability that was linked to memory incompatibility. Sorry to nail you to the wall on this one, but I just never saw it and wish builders would

    This is one of the reasons that I recommend the R7-7700 when talking about an AM5 build. The Wraith Stealth is adequate because, as you said, you have the cooler set to quiet and the ambient room temp is pretty high but the R7-7700 comes with the Wraith Prism which is not only an amazing cooler, it's also beautiful to look at.
    I've been using a Wraith Prism on my R7-5800X3D for about two years now and it has been more than fine with my temps never going over 80°C. It was originally my stepfather's cooler but he's really old-school and hates RGB. So, I traded the Wraith Spire that came with my R5-3600X for it. There's nothing better than free! 😁

    • @stevencash1609
      @stevencash1609 5 месяцев назад +22

      Technically, the transfer of heat is 100%. So whether the CPU runs at 92 degrees because of a bad cooler or at 70 with a great cooler, it will heat the room the same. It's just a matter of how fast the transference of heat occurs.

      @@stevencash1609 While this is true, there is also a ton of reasons to prevent higher temps - this is exactly what you want: A fast energy transfer. Why anybody would use this cooler is beyond me - there 20-40$ coolers that do a much better job in all aspects...

    • @beirch
      @beirch 5 месяцев назад +2

      A 65W CPU running at 90C or 70C transfers the same amount of heat btw

    • @MrLilredmachine
      @MrLilredmachine 4 месяца назад

      This is a really good point, it also applies with graphics cards (physics innit) which tends to be a more common decision being made.
      A card with a 280 watt TDP and a crappy cooler that runs at 90 degrees is still putting out less heat than a card with a 350 watt TDP that has a great cooler and runs at 65 degrees.
      So if your case is overheating with a graphics card in it that runs 280 watts, fix that first. Swapping in another, more powerful card with a better cooler will not help, it will make it worse. 😂😂

    You should have included an exhaust fan in the build, or just taken one from the front. You can get an Arctic P12 for literally $7 (best value case fan by a mile right now), or a P14 for $12, and an exhaust fan will easily improve CPU temps by 5 degrees or more.

    You should stop telling people 16 gigs is enough, it simply is not. Many games use up 18-22 gigs now. So at least 32 is a requirement if you really want a gaming PC in 2024 buy 64 gigs. My point proven at 22:50 when it shows more than 16 gigs being used.

      Personally I would add a case fan in the back and get a better air cooler, for this CPU you don't need to go too crazy when it comes to cooling. Also if you are ready to spend $1500, you could get an even more powerful GPU. For example RX 7800 XT 16GB.

    I know why everyone tests PCs with these sorts of games. But could anyone test something like Space Engineers, or other simulation games just once.
    I personally dont play the games that always get tested. And like i said, i know why you use those games, its because they are generally more CPU/GPU hungry. But just for us nerds out there who like to play the simulation games, test something like SE or Satisfactory. As i know both of those can be very CPU/GPU hungry at times.
    Other than that, im glad i chose the parts i did now looking at this build, Im getting a Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2 with a AMD Ryzen 5 7600. CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 32GB and
    ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4060. I decided to go with the stock cooler aswell as i probably shouldnt have brought any of it (im not rich). LOL. All this inside a MSI MPG VELOX 100P AIRFLOW Mid-Tower PC Case. With 2 M.2, 1 for windows(500gb) and one for games and stuff(2tb). I brought the PSU a few years ago why i thought my current build broke so its just been sat in a box for a few years, 750W Gigabyte P750GM V2 Modular 80 Plus Gold PSU. In total, its cost me about £900.
    Only thing im a little concerned about is i went with the 4060, and everyone keeps saying to go with the 7700 GPU instead. Should i send the GPU back before i unbox it??

    Hi mate, a question - you said not to put RAM sticks next to eachother or it'll halve speed. Does this mean the benefit of having 128gb RAM as 4x 32GB sticks isn't that good over just having 2 32GB for a total of 64gb? or does the extra RAM still add greater performance. thanks

    I want to build a new PC with new component's etc and maybe better then what i got, for fun, plus as an upgrade. However my PC is fairly top of the line for a PC I built in 2020 and it plays whatever I throw at it... that said some games could be much better.. cities skylines 1 in particular..
    But I don't have money to just throw at a new PC I don't necessarily need, it would be fun though.
