    they leave the suspect alone to see if they will like mutter a confession under their breath, another reason is to het him to just want to be outta that room so he’ll just confess

    • @ThatsCyrus
      @ThatsCyrus Год назад +7

      another reason is to gauge their cadence and how they hold themselves when they feel like they're alone. Most people forget cameras are up in ceilings, so when they see the detectives leave the assume they're alone, and they look for people trying to act a particular way to game a story from detectives (ie the people who pretend to be "crazy" trying to get an insanity plea, when in reality its just a bit)

    Not a detective here, but a fan of interrogation videos: making the subject wait 90 minutes is a pretty common strategy used if the cops have enough evidence that the suspect is a dangerous criminal. It is intended to emotionally drain the person so they are less likely to confide information and it makes it easier to detect when they are lying.

  • @GrimDMasterMind
    @GrimDMasterMind Год назад +4

    * The 90 minute wait was to make him uncomfortable and anxious.
    * The tells are a weird thing though. I'd be convicted of so many things if they were only based off "tells." It might work on some people, but personally I don't believe it is meaningful most of the time. I feel like people just do random things when they feel like they don't know what to do whether or not they are innocent. For me, my pulse raises quite high in areas where I feel like I don't know exactly how to explain something.
    * There are a lot of people that are quite observant of things that happen. They can tell you everything that they observed in a particular area. That is a personality thing.
