As someone who worked in telecommunications for 35 years, I can promise you the phones accidentally call 911 and report stuff all the time on their own. With no human intervention required it’s a safety feature built in every phone.

I accidentally called 911 when I was getting into my car and holding my phone. I was preoccupied with getting everything in my car and there's an emergency call option if you hold the power button and I didn't notice I hit it by accident. They called back to make sure everything was ok and I told them it was an accident and apologized. Glad its an option but gotta be careful.
🤦🏻♀️ Again, another person blaming mental health on their actions. Makes it hard for people to have empathy for those who actually have problems…. She has a disorder alright… but it’s NOT one that causes psychosis. She did not call 911 under duress, she did it out of selfish panic. There’s a difference between regular PANIC & being MANIC. PANIC = Having trouble coping with fear but knowing full well what’s right or wrong but having trouble holding back MANIC = Truly believing your actions are necessary (because you’re so scared, you’re out of your MIND) and feeling like your behavior was warranted. Adamantly believing you did RIGHT for the situation, even if you were clearly wrong (some even not sorry- cause they think it was necessary, at least until they realize what happened). You don’t go into psychosis because your boyfriend is getting arrested……….. Like………….. I have really bad mental health….. but even that wouldn’t cause me to do that. That’s just DUMB. I would just CRY. A LOT. *NOTHING EVER WARRANTS YOU TO SWAT A WALMART. NO ONE BUT SELFISH PEOPLE DO THAT.* People: Stop causing terrible stigmas for those with psychotic mental illnesses please!!!!
Oh yes the cops will call you back if you call them and hang up.... When I was younger I saw the stray dog so my dumbass decided to call 911 but then my friend was like no don't call nine-one-one for this But it's already too late and i already called so i quickly hung up hoping that it wasn't that long of a call but there they are calling me right on back... Now mind you everybody of the situation ever happened to you you called 911 and turns out you don't actually need to just meet Lee tell him hey I'm sorry everything's fine cuz they're going to want to make sure everything's fine before they hang up and the reason they call you back is to make sure that wasn't some kind bad situation where you tried to call but the phone got wiped out or another person was involved they just call back to make sure that everything is ok it's only a problem if you don't respond to them and they have to come out and find you cuz they're thinking it's emergency so always respond back them if they call you back just to let you know otherwise it's going to be worse situation
Dispatch will almost always call you back if you just hang up the phone. Especially if you give them a little to no information. I remember when I was a kid back in the 80s, we had a rotary phone for a little while . This was early 80s. Maybe mid. I was born in 1980 I was probably about 4 to 6yrs old. Anyways I dialed 911 because I was curious. When someone actually answered the phone I hung it up because I got scared. They called back and my grandma answer the phone. My grandma lived with us. She was quite surprised to hear dispatch on the other end and explain to them that I, her granddaughter must have called them and there is no emergency. I didn't get into much trouble. My grandma never told on me. She knew that Dad would give me a whooping. This was my mom's mom that lived with us. I think that my dad's mom would have definitely told on me. I never did call 911 again unless I needed to. So yeah dispatch will call you back almost 100% of the time. Maybe if you are a dire situation and the phone gets disconnected and maybe they're worried that whoever is with you might hear the phone ring, they might not call you back then. I don't know. I do know that they will call back though always always always always. So don't try to call 911 and hang up. They have your number, they have your address, they know where you are and they will get your ass if it's a prank.
Yeah calling the swat team under false claims is highly illegal and very dangerous. A swat team at the heat of the moment might end up killing an innocent individual due to a false claim. I know a youtuber that got swatted about multiple times.
