It amazes me after years of living a minimalist lifestyle how I can still do a declutter and find so many items to let go of. I hope you find a wonderful new home for you and your kitties 🏠🐱
I think one of the hardest parts of decluttering is knowing what to do with the things, where to give them away or sell them if you don't just want to put them in a box on the street (one of the preferred methods where I live nowadays). It is a good system you have with the giveaway shelf for your neighbours.
@@olivemaycards yes, we have a number of groups like that, and I also get rid of things that way sometimes. Sadly, however, many people still just dump things on the street to rot, especially large items like sofas and mattresses that nobody wants because of the resurgence of the bedbug problem.
You've kept your current home in such beautiful condition and the next buyer will be so lucky to get it! Good luck in your new home. I'm sure you'll make it just as beautiful as this one.
Such a good idea to do a declutter before a move is even happening.....a calm way to make a keep or give away decision. I'm not planning a move but tomorrow I'm going to pretend I am and do a walk through my tiny house. Thanks for the motivation!
Congratulations on your future home! I can’t wait to see how you make it home. When I bought my house a year ago I started decluttering as well in preparation for my move. During the move, I tearfully realized I have WAY to much stuff. I have been decluttering ever since and it has been liberating!!! You have inspired me tremendously. I look at things differently and say to myself “if Benita was here what would she do?”. You are my litmus test of what to keep and what to purge. Thank you for all your videos! The contents are very helpful to so many.
I just love the options that you have for passing things along and recycling. I really wish that we had better options in the US, especially in more rural communities.
I always find a move “cleansing” when evaluating and touching everything going to the new place. You definitely are an inspiration for light and clean living … and keeping family close.
i love that the building has different options of offloading your belongings. i wished that was adopted here in the US or made more common. thanks for sharing!
Just brilliant how your building has that “item share” system ! I would love that !! Terrific job on your declutter. I hope your items sell !! Love from Buffalo, NY USA Liz
Your decluttering style is very much like mine. I do it on the regular. I also practice the one in-one out rule. Some friends criticize my methods but I think they hang on to too much stuff. I have kept my silver flatware and use it every day. It’s great you’ve got so many options for selling, donating or recycling items in Stockholm. Can’t wait to see your new place.
Video idea: "what I kept and I did not keep from my previous flat" and why. "Things that I can / cannot acquire given the new space available". " neighborhood tour". "The best and worst of my new home" or "What I miss from my previous flat", " How to keep minimal in a bigger space and still make it look cozy". "Ikea tour, smart decisions"' " favorite furniture brands"
I love your home so much and find it hard to believe you're going to leave it, but I understand completely why you're moving on. Are you no longer interested in any outdoor space for yourself? Not having an outdoor space was a dealbreaker the last time I was house hunting. Wishing you all the best in your new home search!
You are always an inspiration to declutter. I need to do this again, as we moved into our new home 1 1/2 years ago. Decluttered prior to moving, but still have so much stuff we no longer use!!
What a wonderful video!, I've so enjoyed watching the past videos, especially the catio. Mini and Bonus are so precious. I wish you all the best with the move and hope the kitties settle in OK with the move.
I love how the Swedish culture recycles and has a give away system where you live.I am looking forward to seeing where you will move to, your current apartment is so nice.It will be so wonderful to live closer to your son and friends. An Italy vacation sounds awesome!!. Living your life large 😊💛
Donating or getting rid of items that are no longer useful is always a good idea when moving to a new location. I was supposed to move last month, but it was delayed. All of my belongings are currently packed in boxes and bags. all but the genuinely essential items. Thus, I only have three plates, two cups, a fork, knife, and spoon, along with two pans and a pot. Curiously, I discovered that the few things I use every day were enough to make me happy. Once I move to the new apartment, I believe I will donate more items.
new subscriber here. I wish your cats many healthy more years to come, Benita. I feel so much love when you kiss them. They are both lovely. Have a safe and hopefully stress free move.
I’m envious that you have such easy access to recycle different materials (paint, unwanted household items to be used for energy and not go to landfill, etc). I wish the US cared as much as other countries. :/
So glad you are enjoining italian language and culture, im from Italy and I love my country! So proud!!! And congratulations for your move! Im moving soon too, and I Just started declutter my ENTIRE home ahahah but my cats and husband Will stay with me of course ahah
I did too, especially since she was kissing them. My sadness was soon turned to joy. We absolutely love our fur babies and delayed a move to the country that we thought would be too much for our dogs; one was blind, the other deaf. Our cats did fine and loved country life. We've had many animals since. The strays always find us 🥰.
Omg I love Calico cats. Your tiny Calico looks identical to a childhood cat I remember my grandmother had named "Cuddles"..then I had a gorgeous Calico as a teen named "Audrey Nicole" & she was small like your Calico!! Your Calico looked so precious in the gray beanbag seat!! So cute!!
After watching this video, I am energized to look at my home contents. I do regularly consider whether to let go of items. At times, a decision depends on my mood that day. I moved to a new home a year ago, and I thought I had done very well decluttering before moving. But in the past year, I have decluttered and donated so much more. I suppose it has to do with living in my new space and realizing some items no longer suit my current life. It is an ongoing process! I'm off to look into my cupboards to see what I can find to let go. Thank you for the inspiration Benita 🌼
I'm so jealous of the recycling room you have in Sweden. Here in the UK we take stuff that is still in a good usable condition to charity shops, but if you don't have a car transporting bulky items like furniture can be a real hustle: you might put it off altogether and just throw stuff away...
I can't wait to see your new home, how exciting. I remember so well you moving into your current place, seems like yesterday. I so enjoyed this video, as usual, thank you for sharing.
Moving is always exciting...very smart to declutter beforehand, less headaches ! Can't wait to see your new home, I already know it will be beautiful!!
Another wonderful video! Love that you take into consideration Mini and Bonuses needs. Our elder kitty's needs are are also a priority in regards to where we live. ; )
Hej Benita, first of all, thank you for this video. Best luck in your selling/moving process 🍀, it's going to be easy peasy, because your apartment and that patio are beautiful....maybe it's already sold😃!! There are very nice apartments in Stockholm with wonderful french balconies to enjoy in the morning with a coffee or in the evening with a glass of wine 👍🏼and I am looking forward to see how are you going to renovate & decorate it and start your new life, in your new home 🌼🌼😍
So enjoyable to watch! Recycling facilities in your area are fantastic! I’ve had to pack my house into storage as we travel during the summer and will be moving to the new house in autumn so I decluttered quite aggressively. There is something super satisfying about knowing everything that’s waiting to be unpacked is wanted, useful and in good shape…bringing anything unwanted, useless or worn out with us into new space just feels wrong…and paying for moving and storing it as well! Speaking of traveling during the summer , we are spending whole glorious month in France so I’m motivated to brush up on my French while here so your babble recommendation comes very handy! Xxx
How exciting, Benita ! Well done on a thorough decluttering ! And all the BEST to you in your New Home when you move! Wow I am impressed with your basement storage unit, annnnd the system where you place items for others in your building to take.
While we were all stuck at home,RE Covid, I had a massive turn out, why do we hoard,? 2 charities benefited, when they reopened, also the dogs sanctuary, which had a lot of towels. looking forward to seeing your new home, much love from an autumnal Cornwall.
I wish you the best and hope you find a wonderful new home. I also consider myself a minimalist, however, I learned that I still have many things to declutter. I am having some painting done so it was the perfect time once again, rid myself of stuff. This includes a large suitcase-I vow to never check luggage again, corporate looking clothes-I am now retired but I kept some black basics, books and handbags. I donated a lot and after vacuuming and dusting, it felt wonderful. Now for the painting...
So looking forward to seeing you set up your new home, cannot wait. I too remember when you moved to this place and setting it up and decorating and your lovely patio. Nice you will be closer to family. All the best to your move and future. I live like you and I too still find things to recycle and get rid of. My parents left me a 4 bedroom house with so much stuff in it, that I had to get rid of before I sold it. It was overwhelming and never want to be in that position. I too got rid of a lot of my thing in my storage room this week. Again, so looking forward to your room and next video. All the best.
Hello :) cool about the move and about Babbel ;) I am learning a new language and wish to move too as i always wanted and i felt not to fit more in the life style i had.. as i had some life changes recently. so thank you for your video. it is motivating me to move into creating the new phase i feel called for, step by step. thank you from France :) I lived in Italy younger, ;) and other countries, then i settled back in my native town in France for many years.. but now, after so many life changes, i feel it is a sign maybe to dare the huge move i felt to do since many years ;) .. ;) your video just resonates to me as a divine sign that it is .. ;) thank you :) good vibes for your process too :) i am into the decluttering, selling, donating and starting to learn the new language too :) so i feel for sure your video really resonating :) love :) funny to read back my old comment, from 6 months ago.. ;) i am still in the process, but it evolves since, luckily :) step by step :) i am at the phase to detach of my loved plants now :) step by step :) i have to check where you are now as i am not a good follower on videos on line.. :) sorry.. but still grateful to the creators that inspire us to dare and follow our heart call, thank you ! :)
Excited to hear about your move to a new home! Can't wait to see the whole adventure of relocating! And so nice you will be near your son and good friends.
Congrats on the move. But for me it is bitter sweet, not that that matters, but I feel watching your videos is like coming home and feeling comfy and happy. But I am sure Ill get over it and the new place will be great
Love seeing your videos. Sad to hear Mini and Bonus getting up in age and no longer using the outdoor space as much. Always a move to get a new round decluttering items no longer needed . Hope Mini and Bonus will enjoy a new place. Our Cat Daphne is 13 years old. I take her outside on the front steps where she gently nibbles grass the goes back inside. Love to see your new place.
I love your channel. Would you be willing to make a video about your design process for your next place? I am so drawn to your style, and would love to understand a bit more about your decision process, and how you decide on furniture, spatial arrangement, scale, mix of textures etc. I'm guessing you'll take most of your current pieces to your new place, so how will you decide what goes where? And if you need to buy anything new, what you look for and how it fits with everything else. I really struggle with putting things together and it ends in chaos if I just buy pieces I like but without a bigger unifying idea.
Travelling to Italy? May I suggest you to visit a small but beautiful city in the North? Brescia (my city) has some interesting museums and it is surrounded by 3 lakes and has beautiful mountains! You can also easily reach more famous cities as Verona and Venezia by train
Ciao Benita, I'm an italian follower of yours and I have to say your pronunciation is very good! I'm happy you love my country and I'd like to come back to Sweden in the future. I wish you all the best and who knows, you might even decide to move to Italy for good 😊 we're corrently melting down due to the unbereable hot temperatures but hopefully there's gonna be some weather change within a few days! Ciao a presto! (Bye, see ya soon) 💛
I bought candles on Amazon last week. I realised, when they arrived that I haven’t bought any unnecessary things in over three years. I guess I’ve become content and easy in my sixties…..it sort of crept up on me. Happy days in your new home, I look forward to seeing it in the future.
Cats never like the items we pick for them. For instance, my cat is now very interested in the box in which came a bed I bought for him. The bed? No interest. The box? Big fun. Good luck with the sale, your apartment is lovely!
Congratulations on your new home! I loved your current place, it seemed cozy and the outside garden area was really nice, but it’s always nice to start fresh and it’s exciting to move to a new place and to be around family and friends is a bonus! Can’t wait to see the new place! Hope the move goes smooth for you. Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
I’ll miss this apartment because it’s where you’ve lived since I found you years ago. I was also very impressed with the outdoor space for an apartment. But I know you need to change with the season of life you, Mini and Bonus are in. While I’m sad to see this place go, I’m excited to see your new place, what you’ll do with it and your new adventures in a different part of the city. Thank you for sharing!
I love watching your D clutter and organizing videos. I have learned so much from you and I have tried to adopt a few things from you that fit my lifestyle. I’m very happy that you found it or are you looking for a new place in the city. I always think it’s important that people live wherever it’s going to make them the happiest. Being close to your son and friends is important. I can’t wait to see your new place.
I'm planning to do a move within the next year so I've recently started a declutter. I see no reason to wait until its time to move. This will only make the transition a lot easier when the move date gets closer.
Your upcoming move seems exciting especially since you will be closer to your son and friends. So you are planning a trip to Italy. You will love every moments. Italy is a very unique place. And enjoy the fabulous food with no regrets. That is what's so special about traveling to other places!
LOVE those Iittala glass decorations! But not everything can stay. Very inspiring video. I've recently decluttered for a garage sale but this makes me want to re-evaluate and maybe find a few more things that can go. :)
Ahhh... I can't believe you got rid of the LL Bean Tote bag (at least I think it's an LL Bean tote). I went out and bought the same one because I saw you using it. It's a great bag. I trust that it has served it's purpose with you. Good luck on the next place.

It amazes me after years of living a minimalist lifestyle how I can still do a declutter and find so many items to let go of. I hope you find a wonderful new home for you and your kitties 🏠🐱
It’s pretty crazy, right? And thank you!
Can’t wait to see the new home you choose. I love your style of decorating and way of life. I greatly enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching!
Someone will feel blessed to get such an immaculate apartment. I can't wait to see "our" new place!
Haha, I can’t wait to share when that time comes!
It will be a fortunate person that gets your current home.
I hope they think so!
Wow. We here in Australia could certainly learn from Sweden when it comes to recycling. Well done Sweden.
I think one of the hardest parts of decluttering is knowing what to do with the things, where to give them away or sell them if you don't just want to put them in a box on the street (one of the preferred methods where I live nowadays). It is a good system you have with the giveaway shelf for your neighbours.
I'm fortunate to have all these options!
They usually have them in apartment buildings, or people pick stuff up from the curb in the city. Not so much in suburbia
Do you have a Buy Nothing or freecycle group in your area Pamela? That’s how I pass on a lot of things.
@@olivemaycards yes, we have a number of groups like that, and I also get rid of things that way sometimes. Sadly, however, many people still just dump things on the street to rot, especially large items like sofas and mattresses that nobody wants because of the resurgence of the bedbug problem.
I’m sure Mini and Bonus will be happy wherever they go as long as you are there. Good luck with your move and best wishes in your new space!
I think so too!😊
You've kept your current home in such beautiful condition and the next buyer will be so lucky to get it! Good luck in your new home. I'm sure you'll make it just as beautiful as this one.
Thank you so much!
I used to love your current house setup and design...the next person is lucky to move in...
Cant wait to see your new home 🤗
Thank you so much!
Such a good idea to do a declutter before a move is even happening.....a calm way to make a keep or give away decision. I'm not planning a move but tomorrow I'm going to pretend I am and do a walk through my tiny house. Thanks for the motivation!
So happy if you were inspired!
Congratulations on the move. I hope you will have a lovely place to take your walks and the kitties will enjoy the new space.
I know the area well since I used to live there and I'm sure we'll all be happy there!
Wow, that's nice to see how important is to declutter before moving. That's a plus
I don’t want to pay to move things I know I won’t use 😊
Congratulations on your future home! I can’t wait to see how you make it home. When I bought my house a year ago I started decluttering as well in preparation for my move. During the move, I tearfully realized I have WAY to much stuff. I have been decluttering ever since and it has been liberating!!! You have inspired me tremendously. I look at things differently and say to myself “if Benita was here what would she do?”. You are my litmus test of what to keep and what to purge. Thank you for all your videos! The contents are very helpful to so many.
Good job on the decluttering!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’m glad that you’re moving closer to your son and friends. That’s wonderful!
I’m so looking forward to it!
I really love your apartment. It is so white and bright. Can’t wait to see the next one.
I’m excited to share when it’s time!
I declutter regularly but I am sure if I was moving today I would find so many stuff to declutter. Crazy!!
Congratulations on the move! Can't wait to see your new home. The cats will love it for they still have you giving them lots of love!
I’m sure we’ll all be happy when the day comes!
What an amazing cat mom you are. To find a place with them as the focus is just so sweet. Always love all your videos. Thank you for sharing.
I just love the options that you have for passing things along and recycling. I really wish that we had better options in the US, especially in more rural communities.
I’m very lucky to have this, I know!
Oh what a bitter sweet feeling must it be! You’ve put so much love in this apparent! Good luck with moving and creating a new cosy house, Benita!!!
It’s all done though, so I’m excited for something new😊

When I get a chance to travel further than to my mom’s I’ll try and share!

Thanks!
I can’t believe you’re moving!! Amazing how minimal you are but still did a pretty big declutter. (BTW, always loved that 🐘tray.) 🤗
Not much to sort out, testament to the fact that consistent sorting out (like Benita does) makes sense.
For one heart-stopping moment I thought you were go)g to declutter the Miffy lamp 😱
Nope, Miffy is tagging along. Will find a good spot for her!

Always satisfying to see someone declutter their whole home. I'm surprised that you still have many things to declutter though you're a minimalist.
I’m not an extreme minimalist.
After watching this video, I am energized to look at my home contents. I do regularly consider whether to let go of items. At times, a decision depends on my mood that day. Hi 👋dear how are you doing?
I remember your videos when you renovated this sweet apartment -- now can't wait to see what you do in your new home! Good luck!
Very excited for this new chapter for sure!

Thank you so much!
Nothing like moving to make you reevaluate your belongings. Can't wait to see your new place!
Good luck with ur move. Cant wait to see ur transition
I am a year out from moving. I have started the process of decluttering. This is great motivation! Thanks!
Glad if it’s helpful!
I will miss your patio! I'm sure your new place will be beautiful too.🙂
I love everything in this video! It's always surprising how there is always something to declutter...And moving, sounds so exciting! Lycka till!
So excited, thank you!

Your videos inspires me. Always realistic and true to what you really posses.
Thank you so much!
Hi from Italy, Campobasso! I love your videos🤍 sei bravissima con l’italiano, hai un’ottima pronuncia ✨
Hello :) cool about the move and about Babbel ;) I am learning a new language and wish to move too as i always wanted and i felt not to fit more in the life style i had.. as i had some life changes recently. so thank you for your video. it is motivating me to move into creating the new phase i feel called for, step by step. thank you from France :) I lived in Italy younger, ;) and other countries, then i settled back in my native town in France for many years.. but now, after so many life changes, i feel it is a sign maybe to dare the huge move i felt to do since many years ;) .. ;) your video just resonates to me as a divine sign that it is .. ;) thank you :) good vibes for your process too :) i am into the decluttering, selling, donating and starting to learn the new language too :) so i feel for sure your video really resonating :) love :)
funny to read back my old comment, from 6 months ago.. ;) i am still in the process, but it evolves since, luckily :) step by step :)
i am at the phase to detach of my loved plants now :) step by step :) i have to check where you are now as i am not a good follower on videos on line.. :) sorry.. but still grateful to the creators that inspire us to dare and follow our heart call, thank you !
I’m exited for this new chapter!
I have a video like that planned for when I move!
Ciao! Hopefully I can visit Italy again sometime in not too far of a future!
I bought candles on Amazon last week. I realised, when they arrived that I haven’t bought any unnecessary things in over three years.
I guess I’ve become content and easy in my sixties…..it sort of crept up on me.
Happy days in your new home, I look forward to seeing it in the future.
I love that !👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hope you find the perfect home for the next stage of your life. As always, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching!
Cats never like the items we pick for them. For instance, my cat is now very interested in the box in which came a bed I bought for him. The bed? No interest. The box? Big fun. Good luck with the sale, your apartment is lovely!
I know! They’re so funny!

I hope you find the home of your dreams. Many blessings in your new home!
Thank you so much for following along!
I’m sure it’s going to be good!
That storage room is so bright, clean and tidy! Our cellar units here in Berlin tend to look very different;-))
Over here most are caged in but I've been really lucky with this one!
I love watching your videos and you inspire me to ‘edit’ my life in a way that has helped me live a more intentional life! Happy Friday!
I'm planning to do a move within the next year so I've recently started a declutter. I see no reason to wait until its time to move. This will only make the transition a lot easier when the move date gets closer.
Starting early is such a good move (🤣)

Your upcoming move seems exciting especially since you will be closer to your son and friends. So you are planning a trip to Italy. You will love every moments. Italy is a very unique place. And enjoy the fabulous food with no regrets. That is what's so special about traveling to other places!
Yes, I’m very excited both about living closer to them and the prospect of traveling more!
Closed captioning on tv is only in swedish - need English. This change happened recently. Hope it will allow English cc again. Love your videos!!
Hello Benita ! In French for the title we said : Désencombrer toute ma maison. I like your videos !
