      @Nomi Malone come on now, you know that's a bold faced lie. Tyra wasn't pushed out of shit by anybody. Yes retired YEAARRRSS after all that drama, and even when she wasn't so 'high fashion' because she refused to get surgery on her ass and boobs to make them smaller, she still was banking in millions from swimwear and lingerie lines and beauty shots.
      Tyra was smart. She herself says it all the time, "it's better to leave while you're ahead". And that's what she did, and now shes much richer thanks to it.
      Naomi is iconic and I'm happy she seems to be getting the help she needs to stay somewhat balanced.

      @@lindam4953 she doesn't have to apologize. Why? Because she didn't make the modeling industry a safe space for Tyra? Because they weren't besties? I've watched the interview. Naomi herself stated she didn't know Tyra was a fan of hers. Tyra herself said no you wouldn't have known that. They competed for a space in the modeling industry. Tyra lost. She managed to find her success in other areas. That's life. Naomi said she didn't have her blackballed and only an absolute moron who isn't content with reality or lack the courage to hold the media accountable would believe Naomi had the power to stop any white man from getting a bag. That's like believing Nicki has the power to stop bags. Or that Cardi B can prevent another rapper from being successful. They don't really have that type of power. Naomi at that age didn't have that type of power. She doesn't have to apologize for Tyra feeling uncomfortable. I'm sure Tyra hasn't apologized to every contestant on ANTM.

      Will M Black is still tied to white. Both those statuses came out of European imperialism. As Fanon stated: “Black and white came into existence at the moment of imperial conquest. Neither exists without the other. “ So called black people are the only people on earth that define themselves through the eyes of the oppressor. Black people are the only *land less* people. With the exception of indigenous people throughout the Americas (who also called themselves false label like “Indian” and they have nothing to do with India), no other people on earth call refer to themselves as a status. Black is just a status which always goes back to the “in group” who imposed the label in the first place...No one was walking the earth calling themselves Black over 500 years ago. They were Ewe, Fang, Hausa, Igbo etc. Their real identities.....By the way, most Africans from the motherland reject the term Black and they say it is a “Western” thing, a slave status.

    • @fawnieee
      @fawnieee 5 лет назад +27

      Othering is a toxic thing, and only reveals white supremacists stupidity. If black people, or any person of colour, suddenly disappeared from the very planet they would them find problems from amongst themselves. I guarantee you a certain white person from a certain country would be the "problem" that people of colour are now.
      I'm not trying to denote the person of colours experience, but pointing out these people are so stupid and thrive off this concept of othering.
      The only thing different between races are the pigment of our skin, and we should celebrate the many different variations instead of what we're doing now and back then. It's disgusting and upsets me to no end.
      Unfortunately, what people don't realise is people who "other" can often hold positions of power and allow their discrimination be prominent in a certain business industry and even in society.
      Black is beautiful. And I wish people (white people, as I am a white person) would realise that this is still, a very real issue. We have come far but we still have a very long way to go.
      These people who are racist should not be allowed in positions of power such as media, business or industry. If they want to behave inhumanely, they do not deserve to be treated as human.

Most mixed couples you find the counterpart isn't very light. Bedwenches and bedbucks were dark because they were highly fetished. Naomi was never going anywhere but where she went because of her features and walk. Tyra whose very pretty had elements as well one of which being more marketable. The scene on Tyra's show with both of them reminds me of how the people who are hurt remember things better than those who did the hurting. Tyra remembers because it deeply hurt her and affected her. Naomi doesn't remember because it didn't impact her. I hope they've been genuinely been able to patch things but because they are truly both incredible black women.

      Oh Naomi REMEMBERED. She knew exactly what Tyra was talking about. She was just trying to act like she didn’t. Playing Victim trying to make it seem like Tyra was making it up because why would Tyra just make that up and claim all those things about Naomi if it wasn’t true? Naomi is just a Narcissist. I remember watching when Tyra had Naomi on her show and Tyra mentioned a show- Versace I think- and said that she (Tyra) arrived at the show and was told to go home and that she want needed. She then said that when she asked why the person telling her cocked his head in Naomi’s direction. Naomi replies that he said it and not her. She never said anything like that. And also she asked Tyra if she knew that Gianni sent Kate Moss home that night too? He did that sometimes. It was so easy to blame Naomi.

      @Bella Pink what are you talking about? Don't be daft. With regards to the runway modelling industry which is brutal - Tyra couldn't handle it. Naomi fought tooth and nail for her position. That is it. That is all. And if Naomi wanted to do anything else, she could. Her passion is modelling. That has always been her passion. I'm not comparing their success. Naomi went on to be the legendary model that is still sought after today. Outside of that, she does a lot of humanitarian work. Tyra went on to do other things. You're the only one assuming that I'm saying one is less than the other. That's projecting sweetie. It's because you think that, that you assume that I think it and so you're struggling to count numbers in order to make the levels seem equal. They are in completely different zones now and in Naomi's zone, she reigns supreme. And she fought every way to her position on top. That's it. That's all. Tyra did get chewed up and spat out. That's why she quitted and continues to speak up on it today. Naomi showed her teeth. She had the grit to get where she's at. That doesn't mean Tyra didn't find success elsewhere. Not on the runway though. There are a good 30 supermodels between Naomi and Tyra and that's with my being kind.
