At least when Naomi apologises, she takes accountability and really say "I'm sorry" while Tyra makes it seem like her victims have all the fault.
Right? I've thought Tyra was a prize 'B' for years. It started with screaming at Tiffany on ANTM and was compounded when she brought Naomi on her talk show to 'nicely' berated her - I just thought, 'what are you trying to achieve, the only thing you can do is shame someone through that.'

When Tyra said that THAT was the hardest moment of her life: "Naomi telling her she'll never be Naomi", I could only imagine Naomi thinking "I wish I had such a privileged life in which that would be the hardest moment for me too". Tyra is so narcissistic that I believe her sight only goes as far as her legs can reach.
Absolutely true. That's basically what I already said in another comment. For me, for some reason, Naomi always screamed HONESTY regardless some less positive behaviors. Tyra always screamed deceit and narcissism, specially on her TV shows.

I'm sorry to hear about your life, as I've not led an easy one as well. But it is common knowledge of what many of the celebrities and famous people go through in that industry, _especially_ as women, _especially_ as p.o.c., and _especially_ in the modeling industry. People working in entertainment come out all the time and speak in how they were SA'd, abused, given drugs to keep them performing, encouraged to take drugs, began eating disorders and everything else. It is crazy. To have childhood trauma, work in a predatory environment, _and_ be consistently scrutinized and demonized by the media, all while being subtly provoked by people to get invoke and provoke you into reactions is not simmering most normal people go through, at the incessant global level that may of those in that industry do.
You do not know this person personally and you have not experienced her life, nor have you gone through similar enough experiences to compare your behaviors. She is wrong and she has stated as such. But it is honestly a different life than most of us will ever experience. You may say you would or wouldn't do, but until you've been put in a similar situation, you wouldn't know. How can you say it "paled" in comparison? How would you know?? There's nothing to compare because your life is your life and hers is hers.
She was as evil as Tyra. She was just more honest about while Tyra pretended she wanted to help the girls in her show.

Tyra was cancelled in a Versace show 15 min before the show because of Naomi and Tyra discussed this in the same interview you put! I love Naomi and she is a reference in the modeling world but her mean girl tactics go beyond you are saying. She "was not hard to work with" Naomi was related with blood diamonds in Africa, She physically abused her staff and her personal assistance, she even had to do community service because she hit and hurt her assistance face with a cellphone, she was also related with Jeffrey Epstein!!! "I broke my nose when I was 3, and when I started modelling, the plastic surgeon gave me the nose I was supposed to have naturally." - once again, she's victimizing herself, saying she only got the nose job because he fixed her broken nose. She didn't do it because she's VAIN or something.🙄

I used to watch ANTM; I don't even know what fashion is, and even before Tyra Banks made me uncomfortable watching her on TV, I still thought nothing was wrong with her, her shouting, her comments that made me wonder if that's okay, and other dramas. I always gave her the benefit of the doubt, but now I realize how messed up and manipulative her image in the TV. She gaslights her models; she is kind of racist at the same time; she likes to invade model boundaries by making them do what they don't want to do, and it's sort of harassment. Tyra Banks is not a good role model for young girls or even models, and it's quite disappointing. She shouts and says negative things about the models as if she is entitled since she considers herself a supermodel, but that doesn't mean you can badmouth and insult these models. She looks like she has a lot of insecurities in herself that it's okay for her to shame people. It's really disappointing. Also, I notice that when she is hosting ANTM, it's always about her and her story. She invalidates the model contestant experiences and compares her experiences as if everyone has the same story. The downfall of ANTM is because of her and that of the other judges who think that they are above everything and instead of mentoring these models well, they choose to insult them . ANTM is not even a competition; it's more like a drama

I love Naomi, and for all my life I also loved Tyra. As a child I loved watching the models and they were my favorites because they felt so unique to me. Today I know the reason (all models were white but them) but child me thought they were the most pretty women because they were so rare. Also I love Naomi's chaotic energy in that problematic era of hers, Im so glad she is doing better now.
