Love my 22 ST Roadglide . It’s very similar Handling to my Roadking . I ride two up on both and single . Only 1 small thing I don’t like about the RG. The dash is slightly out of line to the fairing ,slightly. I try not to look down at it 😂. Good vids, new subscriber
Well the Kawasaki zx14r fairing is setup like a road glide; handlebars move; fairing stays stationary. Sometimes I purposely get close to 18 wheelers just to see if the turbulence can affect the zx14r; nope it just is very aerodynamic and stable.; all the way up to top speed. I had a 2022 street glide special and sometimes at 100, I feel the steering get unstable; hence; max speed for me is 90 indicated; any faster and sometimes you may be that wind buffering that shakes the frontend. Never ridden a road glide; at dealership I rode the street glide first and when it was time for me to switch, I said nope, I was hooked to the street glide 😂 Ride safe
I'm on a indian scout rogue now, I went with a friend to an event my local harley dealership was having, and he convinced me to test ride a street glide. I enjoyed it, and come this next riding season, I am looking to trade my scout in for it.
I'm getting ready to upgrade to a full touring bike. Never owned a harley but rode a few friends bikes, I test rode both and found the street felt cramped to me. I prefer the road glide, they just feel more spacious.
i had a street glide and later rode a road glide. i must admit i liked the way it rode especially on the interstate. years later, now…i ride an ultra. if i could have 2 bikes the other would be a road glide
both are good bikes, I traded my 2019 SGS for a 22 RGS. I think the street glide is better for shorter people, road glide does have better wind deflection and the steering is lighter if you can reach the screen. I'm 6,1 and the road glide just fits better
After having an ElectraGlide and two Street Glide Specials made a change to a RGST, never going back. Less wind from under fairing hitting me. What turbulence gets transferred from the fairing throughout the chassis rather than all through the bars. I kept the stock bars and my hands get no wind. Harley truth in advertising, Road Glides are the open road warriors while the Street Glides are the street kings. The debate will go on forever which is best but in the end we are all on HDs. We win!
The only thing I like about the Road Glide is the added storage. But there’s two big ass saddle bags that make that a non issue. I don’t like the way the bars look coming out of the fairing on the RG, the distance between rider and the dash, and the overall look of the fairing. The batwing is so much better looking. Under the right conditions, I do get a little buffeting coming off semis that you feel in the handlebars, but it’s no worse than going over some cracks in the pavement. Smoothing that out a bit just would not overcome the aesthetics for me.
I’ve been riding a Roadglide since 2012 and for me there is no other Harley. If you’re a tall guy 6-4 6-5, imo no other bike will suit you well other than the Roadglide. People often ask , how do you or did you get used to the fixed fairing when turning? Well number 1: I’m not looking at the fairing when turning, I’m looking at the road ahead. Even if i got a new Harley, it would still be a Roadglide.
Yeah the turning with fixed fairing question cracks me up. That is a silly question. When you drive your car how do you turn without the hood turning 🤣
June 2021 Hubby bought SGS (guantlet grey & vivid black), we both prefer the batwing look to the shark nose. Sept 2021 I bought myself a RGS (snake venom, I bought the paint, I was looking at SG and they didn't know when or if they were getting a SG in snake venom). We swap occasionally, we have our preferences to the ride and feel. Agree 100% heavier bike, but that frame mount lighter slow speed maneuvering and best HIGH speed comfort. Not that any of us would exceed posted speed limits. So I am super glad I have the RGS.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Personally, I rode a Road Glide and it just didn't fit me right. I eventually traded my 03, stage 3, Heritage for a 2012 Street Glide and I've finally found the ride I've dreamed of owning. My first real ride was my vacation to my 45th year class reunion loaded down with video equipment and my stuff. I've never been happier on a bike. So, I'm planning 3 rides for 2024 unless the white house idiot gets us nuked. The threat is REAL. God bless you sir. Again, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I was a Road King guy. Love em. Still do. But a couple brothers have the road glides and I was just blown away with how those things ride So I got one OMG it’s the most fkn balanced big bike. Can run 90-100mph all day. Wind won’t unsettle it. Looks fkn amazing I can’t stop raving about it. Got it in mid July .. 11k on it in 6 months
Good video, I had a friend of mine that told me to test ride a road glide before I purchased my street glide. I just like the way it looks over the road glide, both are great bikes 💯
I had a 2021 Street GlideSpecial for a year and then I totaled it in a freak accident. I always liked the Road Glide Special as well so I figured I would go with the Road Glide this time. I like the extra storage on the fairing and the Sharknose look. I originally chose the SGS because of the color when I bought it after test riding both bikes. The RGS didn’t have the color I wanted and to me they were not all that different anyway. Now I really enjoy the “room” in the cockpit and the wind protection. My RGS in a CVO with the 117 and Iim looking at some cam work for next year. It’s already had plenty of torque for where I ride but I would like more rumble out of it. Your cam video was very helpful as well.
You just about covered all the things about a roadglide that I agree with, especially after riding bat wings for over 10 years. I’ve owned now 4 Different Road Glides 2 of them being road glide CVO’s, and the last two road glide limited. I had a road glide limited river rock gray and black 2020, now I own a vivid black road glide limited 2023. I honestly cannot or rather prefer not to ride a bat wing bike any longer, I feel confined.
Yes it was really intimidating kinda at first bc the fairing is so far out. Takes a few mins and that goes away. Hahaha the cobra head lol Damn bro I didn’t think anyone else noticed that. Sorry but I gotta do this to ya .. Look thru the two slots that go around the headlight assembly from the seat. Looks like a big black basketball or something is tucked in there … the way it’s rounded Can’t unsee it now
I started off on a 05 Roadking. When it came time to getting a new bike I was sold on a Streetglide. At first I did not care for the Roadglide. Had a buddy tell me to test ride both. Before I test rode both bikes the Roadglide started to grow on me. I still wanted the Streetglide. Took the Streetglide out first then directly after hoped on the Roadglide. By the first turn i was sold on the Roadglide.
I Can't bring myself to yes, a full Faring bike get I still have a road king but I have a stereo system on it. And love it. But after hearing your explanation. I think I'll go look at a rogue blade before a street live
I was watching and then you hit the nail on the head with the wind and beard. I have an 18 ultra limited and today I had the wind blowing my beard in my eyes. I have the wind deflectors but that doesn’t help. I have rented a few road glides and they are great. Just can’t seem to want to go out and buy another bike as my ultra was bought new and I am retiring in a month.
I'm 6'4 , 250lbs with a big beard and I'm on my 21 Roadglide special. ABSOLUTELY 💯 LOVE IT. Running 16" bars , woods WM8-22XE with s&s oil pump and cam plate along with S&S aluminum intake manifold. Boy it's a running mother fucker. Cheers 🍻 bud. One day we smoke a cigar together.
I used to own a street glide special. I loved the bike. One day me and a bud rode out to a local HD dealer. He was trading in his Electra glide for a RG. While he was doing the paperwork I took one out for a test ride. That was it for me. I was sold. I traded in a couple of months later.
I happen across your channel. Brother man I like your style. I have been riding a Street Glide since 2007. My wife also rides a Street Glide. I’m 99% sure my next bike will be a Road Glide. Hopefully soon I will take the leap and get one. Both of the bikes on your channel look awesome. I will be waiting for more videos to come out. Ride safe.
Just swapped from my batwing after many of years. Loved my Streetglides but man this Roadglide is wicked fun to ride. It took time getting used to the gauges being so far away, but after learning the trick with the home button on the left control its all good now. 2019 RGS wicked red denim.
I just bought a 2021 Road Glide Special and I love it! I was looking at a Street Glide Special and was sure that’s what I wanted, but after watching lots of RUclips videos and talking to a lot of people, I went with the RGS. I agree, the looks of both bikes are awesome, but there’s just something about the RG. I wondered about how looking over that big fairing would feel and as you mentioned, the fact that everything is so far away, after all, I came from a Heritage Classic. However, in the end, none of that mattered. It feels so good going down the road and looks great doing it too! As for the headlight not turning when you turn the handlebars, we’ll that’s just dumb, no one turns that much riding down the road to notice. So, I’m very happy with my Road Glide Special and expect it will be my last bike, I’m 66 years old, so… Great video and lots of good information! Keep the rubber side down!
Never ridden a RG. Rented a SG and rode 2up for a day. Not bad but felt heavy at low speeds when making slow turns. Can't wait to try the RG to compare. A bagger is definitely in my future plans just have to decide which one.
Yep! It was always the way the shark looked while approaching that drew me to it. Plus when I had my Victory Cross Country, one day the wind was whooping me at around 80 and some dude on a road glide passed me with ease. I had to have one lol!
I agree with you 100%. I rode an Ultra for a few years when I went to trade it in the dealership didn't have any Road Glides to ride so I bought a street glide in 2015. I rode that bike almost 3 years and finally got to demo some RGs. In August 2018 I bought aa 2018 RGS in wicked red and love this bike and cant see myself going back to the batwing. The batwings are nice and nothing really wrong with it but i just prefer the shark nose
Looking at the comments on this video I would say this is obviously “your” opinion and not a popular one with everyone or they would not sell the RG and vice versa. Opinions vary and that’s what makes us all different. Good news is if you don’t like something you buy something different. Great having choices. Thanks for your input.
I ride an Ultra Classic. I love the Batwing appearance. That's it. the looks for me.
And that is all that matters. Glad we have options.
Yes i have a 22 road glide and i love iti customize it and made it my own.
Have had two RoadGlides and like the distance to gauges and wind screen. Plus Shark Nose.
Love my SGST
Yes very nice bike for sure. Love the ST

Cant go wrong with either!
RG all day long. Tried the RG, was hooked for life! 22 RG CVO, in steel blue! It’s my 2nd RG.
Steel Blue is nice.
I'm on a indian scout rogue now, I went with a friend to an event my local harley dealership was having, and he convinced me to test ride a street glide.
I enjoyed it, and come this next riding season, I am looking to trade my scout in for it.
Awesome. Good luck to you and glad you enjoyed it.
@BeardedBreeden1 update: I went last Saturday and picked up a 2020 street glide. It was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up
@@Justin-tp3lr sweet!!!!
I agree with everything you said, similar experiences..Funny thing we live in the same town. Good Video!
Really? That is cool. Maybe we need to meet up sometime.
@@BeardedBreeden1 I sent you a friend request 👌🏻
I'm getting ready to upgrade to a full touring bike. Never owned a harley but rode a few friends bikes, I test rode both and found the street felt cramped to me. I prefer the road glide, they just feel more spacious.
The headlight debate is literally the worst argument ever 😂 i hate when people try to argue it. Great video!
I totally agree sir.

Never been on a Road Glide but I have a CVO Street Glide and I don't want to know if the Road Glide is better 😂 both bikes are badass !
I hear ya!
I have a RGL 2022 and enjoy the hell out of it 😎
