One Pan Chicken Fricassée a French Chicken Stew

- A one pan French chicken stew made with very basic ingredients. The term “Fricassée” means to fry and to break in pieces. The chicken is first browned in butter then braised in wine, chicken stock and slow cooked. It’s simple to make, and anything that only uses one pan is always a bonus. You can make it a day ahead as it will taste even better the following day. The flavours seems to develop even further. It’s easy to reheat, simply add a little water and use a saucepan with lid over very low heat. Chicken Fricassée is best served with rice, as it has a lot of sauce for the rice to absorb.
I strongly recommend that you buy a whole chicken and break it down yourself. If you don’t know how, see my video or get your butcher or poultry shop to do it for you. Make sure you keep the carcass for your stock. Making your own stock makes a world of difference to this dish.
Chicken Fricassée is a delicious meal that doesn’t require a lot of complicated ingredients and simple to make.

Meat+whatever carbs as garnish+a nice sauce is a bombastic combination! French cuisine is something to skip your diet for😉😁😎 And I like the idea that there should be no waste, as most of the people won't use the rest of the chicken and will throw it away, but homemade stock is thousands times better and cheaper than the store-bought one, and you can add whatever spices and ingredients you want. 👍🏻

This looks soo good and I'm sure it's finger-licking-good-deilicious. I've been cooking for my family for nearly 30 years. Kids, wife and friends we have over for dinner always say I should open a restaurant. I even have a printed dinner and drinks menu that it's 20 pages long, lol. It's such a compliment to hear that I'm a good cook every time. Still, I refuse to five into a restaurant business since it's a killer effort and time-suck, and is not something I'd like to do when I finally retire from my totally unrelated full-time job. Love the recipe nonetheless. YUM :)

i never knew it was a french dish,i make this much easier way, only difference is i dnt do chicken stock rather after sauting the chicken with alot of garlic and onion i add milk and cheese. Also having smoked capsicum/bell pepper at the end so it doesn't loose its crisp. Lastly ending with cheese and crushed pepper. 👍🏻
