Hi everyone! Today I present to you a delicious and easy to make recipe! Chicken thighs in special sauce is a second course, perfect for lunch or dinner. Your family will love it! It pairs perfectly with white rice. Just a few simple ingredients are enough to prepare this delicious pan-fried chicken. Try it and let me know in the comments what you think!
Ingredients:
- 6 chicken legs
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 tomato
- 1 glass (1 cup) of tomato puree
- 1 glass (1 cup) of water
- 4-5 tablespoons of sour cream
- Parsley
- Butter
- 2 tablespoons of paparika
- 2 tablespoons of wheat flour
- Salt and pepper
- Olive oil

When you’re adding the garlic… move away everything in the pan and let the garlic sauté for a minute and then mix all together.

That's interesting. So leave everything in the pan but to the side and then let the garlic saute' by itself for a few minutes?
On another note, I hate to watch folk chop garlic on a board. All that flavor being left on the stupid wooden board - lost forever. I peel and then add garlic whole. Wait 10 minutes for it to soften (somewhat) and then mash it with a fork.
@@KoiMan61Confit garlic in olive oil then mash it . Maximum flavour no waste add teaspoon to sweated onions . Also wash rice before cooking to get rid of starch.

Ничего сугубо венгерского и тем более ресторанного в этом рецепте нет... Обычная запеченая в фольге курица, у нас любая домохозяйка так сделает. Особенно утомительно смотреть как вы долго и упорно все нарезаете, да еще с усиленным звуковым сопровождением - как гвоздем по стеклу, перематывала сквозь зубы, чтобы дойти до конца

Nice! Chicken Paprikas is one of my favorites. Love how this (like gulyas and stuffed cabbage) are regional, because my family never uses tomatoes in this, but we do add green bell pepper strips. I highly recommend making nokedli (small spoon drop dumplings) to soak up the amazing sauce. Great video!👏

Californian here. I made this dish and I loved every bite. I will definitely make it again.
I made noodles instead of rice. I used chicken broth instead of water, and I found that it needed more paprika. Maybe Italian tablespoons are bigger than American tablespoons.😄
Hungarian paprika is really intense in its flavor, I'd even say 2 tbs are too much for this amount. Also, I really don't think this is close to anything Hungarians do traditionally.
Here are a few points: we don't really use butter, a more authentic way would be with lard, it gives an amazing flavor. Also, while it's nice to brown the chicken first, we don't really do that beforehand.
Instead of the sweeter red onion we use white ones.
Please don't pour tomato paste into this. If you want to have a bit more tomato-y flavor, add more fresh.
Hungarian wax pepper is really nice addition, you can kinda substitute it for bell peppers but once again, those are much sweeter.
The 2nd key ingredient is "tejföl", which is milder and fattier than a sour cream. Maybe you could mix sour cream and heavy cream together to get a closer match.
It is mostly served with small easy flour-water dumplings or pasta instead of rice.
Finally, please don't add parsley to this.
Disclaimer: the recipe shown here can work if you add those sweeter ingredients the tomato paste can balance it out just fine and then parsley goes well with it. Rice is fine with that but I do not see how that is hungarian apart from adding some paprika powder.
I don't think this was shown to him by a Hungarian, nowadays it is very trendy to say something like this to pretend it is an authentic recipe. I am Hungarian as well, and this is not the Hungarian way to make this dish.
