Chicken Fricassee - quick French Chicken Stew
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 20 сен 2021
- Chicken Fricassée is a traditional French chicken stew made with browned chicken pieces braised in a creamy white mushroom sauce. A rustic family style meal that's easy enough for midweek, it's almost like the white sauce version of Coq au Vin - except it's so much faster to make!

I made this except I switched the chicken for cornflakes and everything else for milk. Very quick and easy the family loved thank you.
Nothing like pan fried cornflakes, stewed in milk for half an hour - sounds delish :P
😂
Made me laugh 😆 🤣 thanks
😂
🤣
Made this two days ago but modified for my Nigerian palette (seasoned the chicken a bit more and added chili flakes after adding chicken stock) and look, it was a massive hit. Simple recipe and amazing food. Thanks a lot for it!
In my mind, I read the whole thing in Nigerian Accent
Fellow Nigerians feeling here
will try it your way, my Pakistani tastebuds crave a hit of chili in every meal
@@fatimanasir3577 how would you do it in your way?
Awwww good. I'm Ghanaian and was thinking of ways to make it more flavourful.
Thanks Tin, this looks amazing! First rule of cooking is, everything tastes better with butter.
Made this last week and making it again today. It tastes AMAZING! Thank you so much for this recipe! Please make more
Made this without wine and parsley, added coriander leaves instead in last too. The rest I already had in my pantry. My In-Laws dropped by for dinner and they literally licked the bowl. Thanks you for the recipe..
And I forgot to add that I presented this dish with Basmathi Rice and Sweet&Sour Curd Salad... 😋😋😋
Best dinner
I'm planning to try with pasta...I hope this will be good.
@@jeeva7644 that's going to be even better... 👌👌👌
Creamy mushroom I ve tried..adding chicken to it never expected but will try how that turns out
I tried making this dish last week without the wine, just extra extra chicken stock and add some chillies to suit Malay taste. It was a HIT!! Thank you so much ❤️
The wine was used to deglaze the pan
@@sig_semesis1813 Thanks!
the french are pissed off 😂
how much chillies u add? want try later too.
The wine is needed to deglaze pan of bits of chicken etc , plus if you are AFRAID of wine for religious reasons, the heat boils off ALL the alcohol, leaving the rich flavor .
Got your book for Christmas and I'm so impressed, I made this recipe today and it was delicious. I feel like it's the first cookbook I've used that actually comes out the way it's supposed to when you follow the instructions carefully.
I have made this so many times!!! My family just love it! Can’t get enough!! Thanks Nagi.
It's the kind of things I used to eat on Sundays at my grandparents' in the French countryside, I truly miss them and their cooking ❤️
La cuisine, la musique, les odeurs...sont toujours liée aux souvenirs 😥
Damn that sounds nice
Really appreciate how your videos are all about the food, ingredients, and technique - with more in the description or blog for anyone who wants it. It feels like you respect the time of people watching who want a demonstration, and everything is really well shot too!
Yess amen. I just appreciate so much that they’re not 10 to 15 or more minute videos is short simple to the point and beautiful. I never understood why it takes 20 to 25 minutes just to show me how to boil an egg. I don’t need to hear about your whole life that day or whatever just get to the point. Lol

I agree. But also the music is turned down to the right level. Just enough so it's not dead silence, but not loud enough to distract or annoy you. Good job.
Right on!
Perfect food, perfect video. No talking (narrating) which is the main reason I watched till the end , thank you

Hi Danna Hanson. how’re you doing
Cooking is honestly one of my happiest times of the day :D Especially when you come up with your own twists.
Too bad cleaning come after 😂
@@Wellshem Cleaning mid-cooking helps levitate some of the post-cooking cleaning, at least (like cleaning the measuring cup when you're done with it, for instance)
@@ciberkid22 This!! I always tell people I clean as I cook and then before I start eating I clean everything else, so that Im just left with plates to clean after. When you do it like that it feels like youve barely been cleaning IMO.

I made this once, and now it is part of my frequent menu items. Love it every time I’ve made it. I don’t add the basil leaf nor wine because I don’t have them, but it still comes out delicious.
does it also take 20-30 minutes to leave it simmer like in the video ? i am dead curious, please reply
@@rainforest6311 I’m making it right now and it takes 20 mins to simmer 😁
@@rainforest6311 yes it does
I think that's bay leaf, not basil. But whatever works. Then there's thyme too.
Duuude they're the best, do youself a favour and try to buy those ingredients, your future self will adore you!!😍😍😘
Love this video! Quick, self-explanatory and to the point ... delicious too!
I just made this twice this week. It’s one of the most delicious chicken recipes ever! Both times I forgot to buy bread! The gravy is to die for!

an all time favorite. cannot go wrong with this and even if I don't have all the ingredients at a time, it still turns out amazing
I added carrots to mine. Absolutely divine. This video saved my thanksgiving this year. Thank you
Good idea. I will try this.
Looks great and I loved the fact that the pot was not photoshopized or cleaned from outside just because of the video. True reality of cooking is captured here :)
My son loves this. Always requested me to do this but I've added paprika and chili flakes and left the wine part out and it is awesome. Thank you for this recipe.❤️
Appreciate the simplicity and how concise this recipe video is. No fluff, just directions.
Straight. Basic. And to the point. Leaves a lot of room for each persons personal additions and interpretations of this recipe.

Look, I barely cooked before finding her blog. I started with her chilli con carne and now it's my go to place for recipes. Do yourself a favor and just try some, they're usually really easy to do, and very, very delicious.❤️
I even bought many Asian ingredients because of her dishes.😂😂 NO REGRETS!!
Looks amazing. I love how you simple, straightforward ingredients to make gourmet meals.
I love that aspect of food blogs and shows as well, sort of like the Jamie Oliver style. Amazing what that man can crank out in a half hour with 5 ingredients. Sometimes the less complicated things are, the more people will be inclined to not only cook more but to experiment on their own by just replacing one simple ingredient for another favorite “just to see.“

I followed this recipe to make it and it's amazing!
Second time I didn't reduce that much of liquid, and didn't put cream in it, instead, I add couscous to absorb all the sauce. Wow! Very delicious!
Made this tonight and didn’t have wine so I omitted that but added a touch of worschershire sauce and lemon zest to give a little pop of citrus to go with the chicken. It was so yummy.
Love the music and the raw nature of the kitchen tools used. Beautifully produced 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Been making that for a while now.
It's fantastic!
Thank you for posting it.
We followed this recipe and are eating it now, and this is 1000% comfort food! For added yum, put whatever heavy cream is left in your carton into the potatoes while you're mashing them.
Just when I thought you were done you kept adding into it and making it look absolutely delicious, will definitely make this sometime soon 💙
This recipe is a 10 of 10. As others I added some cayne pepper and red pepper flakes to it as... My Mexican wife has converted me to needing a spice kick in every meal. Amazing and surprisingly easy and cheap to make! Win win!
Mixing spice and cream, you like your poop soft! x)
This was my mom signature dish when I was a child and as a french you nailed it
Tried this recipe today. Family members love the taste. I just improvised the cooking time. Yummy! 😋😋😋
Ah, French cooking is truly great.
First time trying a RUclips recipe and have the perfect results without any necessary modification. Thanks!
Made it two days ago and it was amazing I just had to come and comment how amazing this was, definitely a must try
Made this with no wine and used dried thyme instead and it was delicious!! Very quick and easy :) it’s become one of my go to meals.
Can use white vinegar wine. Works the same. Also apple vinegar wine.
I made this right now for our dinner. I did not put wine and parsley 'cause we don't have it, I also added carrots and turns out really good. This recipe is delicious and very tasty! 👌🏻
Thank you for the recipe, sooo delish! 💕
I tweaked a little according to my tastes - added a pinch of rosemary, used half a head of garlic which i sautéed first til golden before adding the onion and others aromatics.
Hubby loved it!
This looks so flavoursome and delicious!! Lovely colour on the chicken… amazing recipe ❤️
I tried this today, and it tasted as good as it looks. I am so satisfied and It was delicious. thank you so much for sharing this video!!!! I will be making this more often.
My grandma used to make this... whenever I would mention it to other people no one knew what I was talking about. I thought this was one of her made up recipes. Her version didn't have wine or cream... used cream of mushroom soup. This makes me happy as I have the pan she used to make this dish in. I may make it this weekend.

That looks absolutely delicious, very nicely prepared & excellent presentation. Thanks for sharing 😋
I just made this recipe. I can't believe I can cook this good. Thank you so much.
I’ve cooked this recipe MANY times and everyone has loved it! The only thing I do different is add a tad bit more thyme and REALLY REALLY sauté those onions(around 25-30 min) because I like them REAL soft and sweet 🤤 ! Please don’t skip the wine it makes such a difference in depth of flavor 💯 I just made it last night for my boyfriends family and his mom LOVED it, so much that she’s going to try cooking it herself today! Also, if you can’t make your own chicken stock and have the extra money it tastes soooo good with the bone broth from Costco!!! I also love how this video is straight to the point, if you know your way around the kitchen you know what I mean! ❤
My brother's mother in law made a version of this when I was little. She came from Cuba and said that this is a Cuban dish. Or a version there of. It is a vivid memory of one of the best things I've ever had in my life and I have been searching for something like it since.
That looks absolutely delicious
Well prepared in putting all the ingredients certainly this is really yummy, thanks for sharing this tempting and mouthwatering recipe.
I made it !! Receipe was easy to follow, didnt add wine, family drank it before it made it's way to the pot !! Super delicious!

Made this and its delicious! My son who hates mushroom finally loves it but only cooked this way. This dish is a winner!
I made this last night and it was amazing! Thanks for the recipe❤
i made this and couldn’t believe how delicious it came out, what a recipe 😋
I made this and everyone in my family loved it! I substituted the 8 pieces of chicken thighs and drumsticks for 5 tenderloins. I added penne pasta instead so there was plenty of sauce. It also tastes almost identical to this other dish Rigatoni D!
I must make this! My mouth was watering throughout! Thank you for sharing!
Good job!! Your video is excellent short and straight to the point and easy to understand, amazing 🤩

I made this today but with my own twist seasoning the chicken with salt, pepper, adobo, and red pepper flakes and then instead of heavy cream, coconut milk and it was a HIT! My cousin was mesmerized and complimenting me over and over! 😂Thank you! 🙏

My family is from normandy and in my recipe I use cider over wine and burn the onions and mushroom first with calvados (local apple liquor)

Just made it an hour ago and it was incredible! Also a huge fan of the White Chicken Lasagna that I've found on your blog. Made it a dozens of times already. So, thank you for the amazing content!

My mom I think used to make this. But we don't talk but I miss this recipe. So good.
This is so delicious! And such a good recipe, comes out really well and is now one of my regulars 👏🏻
I made this yesterday with pasta for my mom but I didn't had thyme so I put some chopped culantro and cilantro left it to simmer and served with parsley, she absolutely love it, she even had a second portion with bread, thank you!
It's shown here served on mashed potatoes (or something similar), aside some greens, but I've always had fricassée served on long french loaf slices. The thick sauce is to die for.
Yes, soaking up the gravy with homemade bread is the best part. I would double the broth and flour and add salt until you can just taste it.
Thanks and God Bless for the mouthwatering recipe ! ANice Day !🙏🍗🍗👍🌝🎈🌝
