Standard 3 or Advanced? My head is fucked wondering which to buy. I really want a Mavic but it's too expensive. What would you recommend for a decent drone that has a good camera and is relatively cheap?
Le Oui the standard is nice but it doesn't have that great of a range, it also doesn't have an amazing gps system. I am looking into getting a used phantom 3 pro and that is what I recommend but the standard defiantly isn't a bad idea
I have the P 3 Std and I love it. Camera is only 2.7k but that's more than I need right now. The videos are amazing. I have yet to try Lichi app, but F-GPS mode has some good features.
I have crashed a few times and it IS very durable. This one is looking great to me tho. If I can start making some $$ with my P3s I will start saving up for this or something like.

Always turn on your radio first, then power on the aircraft.. and power down the aircraft before the radio,.

Are You able to switch the camera and change it for a GoPro or other options???
FuryPixel no duh. Except you just will not get a video signal. You have to use the go pro app, which limits your distance to under 200 meters with live view
and its a removable gimbal, so autel will release cameras, where you can upgrade it instead of buying new drone.
You won't want to switch. This camera is awesome!

Are they by far the most reliable? Or, are they the ones with which you have experience? I am guessing the latter. I've been flying my Autel all winter here in Alaska in temps reaching -20C and have had zero problems.

What's the brand name of it?
1. How does the video quality compare to the DJI Phantom 4? Also, I may have missed it but
2. does it have a follow me feature and
3. sensors for obstacle avoidance?
4. frame rate for 4k and 1080p recording?
5. what about bitrate?
I just bought this drone and did a ton of research before doing so, so I will answer the question best I can. It may be general in some instances as it is from memory, but should suffice.
1. The video quality is on par if not slightly better. The Autel has a Sony sensor that is supposedly better than the sensor in the P4. FOV is 108 vs P4 90. Review comparisons say the Autel is a little crisper, but they are effectively even
2. It does have a follow me feature, as well as a circle a point of interest. From what I could tell, same features as p4.
3. It does not have obstacle avoidance sensors. Partly why it is $300-$400 cheaper. My understanding is that obstacle avoidance is at such an infancy, that unless you are flying towards a brick wall, in reality it won't make much difference. Obstacle avoidance apparently doesn't work to well for tree limbs or power lines. I decided just not to fly into brick walls and save money :P .
4 Frame rate for 4k/30, 1440p/60, 1080p/120, 720p/240
5. Dunno bit rate

Um I definitely wouldnt choose this over the DJI Mavic or even the phantom 4 ... possibly note even over the phantom 3 (since it can be found for less than half the price.) $899 isn't a competitive price point for something that offers nothing special / 0 brand recognition over DJI or GO Pro's Karma

What it offers is comparable tech with actual customer service. Also, the camera is better than the dji offerings.

But unlike the DJI products it has no cripple ware, required logins, or big brother. Sure the Mavic and Phantom 4 have a 4 mile range potential. But after you load the cripple ware updates you won't have nearly the range of this drone at half the price. It's ready to fly OUT OF THE BOX! And a much nicer box it is.

It is the same thing but uglier.
This is not in the same class as a DJI. A DJI has more features and is a faster flying drone. This style drone is allot like my chroma drone and for the price is a good starter drone of this size. Also comes with a case which usually costs extra.
I would have purchased this if it was out when i got my chroma ...a way better deal.

Is this drone like a copy of the DJI Phantom 3 Series because it has a lot of similar characteristics and features like the dji. Can you plz help me understand the difference and which drone is better buy?
The Phantom series from Dji has way more advanced technologies. As far as the Phantom 3 series is concerned I believe that the battery life is longer and it doesn't take as long to recharge just for starters. Either way the Autel is still a good drone to purchase for beginners. However, as your skills sharpen and as you take an in-depth look into the technology of the Phantom 3 series, DJI is clearly the better choice.
My DJI barely worked new.. Kept losing transmission to my camera constantly.When I contacted DJI they told me thats usual and had no advice.. Flew my 900 dollar drone like 5 times.. Now it just sits in a huge case in my garage. I would never buy a DJI product.. All I read is how their trouble shooting and support is the worst. My guess is any knock offs would probably be just as good or better and cheaper.

This is my first full size drone. Fly's great, quite and will run 22 minutes on a charge, Camera takes great video's. Get the prop guards. Makes it look like a really big drone. Mine crashed into a lake and it was easy to disassemble and clean/dry it out.
Maverick drones in Minneapolis sells them.

I wouldn't recommend this for beginners. What is the cost? If you have never flown a quadcopter before don't buy this one. Buy a cheap one around 100$ and learn how to fly that one first.

WRONG! You power on the radio controller first, BEFORE you power up the X-Star. doing it the way you showed could cause some flight, radio problems. The radio controller is the first thing you turn on before the aircraft and the last thing you turn off after you turn off the aircraft!

Let me add that it only makes sense to turn the controller on first and off last. Why woukd you want to waste battery with no controller on or visible to the aircraft? Really its common sense.

$600.. then you may as well pay $700 for a phantom 3 pro or all that money... hell go for a phantom 4. DJI has tutorials. I never flown a drone in my life, and I bought a phantom 3 pro and I followed the tutorial and I fly fine. Never ever crashed because a "DRONE" pretty much is gps and hooked up to your phone, so if pilot like an ass then you'd crash. A drone is nothing like a quadcopter. It is very stable... Just start out flying in an open area.
A $1500 drone isn't a beginners drone to me.

Why don't just tell us the price?
So my first drone was a $40 drone from bestbuy. After practicing with that for a couple weeks I got this drone. This is a very easy drone fly have had it for about 2 years and works great. Works good for my business too. If I was to compare it I would say it's better than a phantom 3 but not as good as a phantom 4. As a side note autel robotics customer service is excellent.
