This is a lovely trip down your memory lane. Thanks for sharing. The street you grew up on looks like those in Danny Boyle's movies. Some things seem to never change, like that Neptune Fish Bar, but there is a Tattoo Art shop next door now, which would have been taboo when your father bought fish & chips back then. And look at you, a world traveller living in Shenzhen, the most modern high tech city in the world.
Waw! You're in the UK, this is a surprise. Grey skies again. I too was raised in the UK and when you see the old places again they seem so empty because we remember all the things that were going on, i still remember the home phone number and also playing in the streets until late, great memories. That was fun going back to your early years with you 😃👍
It's really good memories to be back to childhood life! Not all people are so lucky to visit the old days with vivid reflection. Lee, you were born in such a peaceful and nice place, it seems not much has been changed here. Your video recalls me of the song 'Those were the days', so much happiness bring back to you!
Hi Lee, thanks for bringing back the old memories. I was studying in London in the early 1990s and travelled around frequently. Buildings, houses and roads, still look the same. And Sainsbury's and Safeway.are still there.
Wow! Your hometown is so awesome, and full of your sweet memories. That's wonderful to walk in your childhood !!!Thank you so much for sharing the story.💯
2:25 This was a beautiful garden..........now it's a rubbish skip. And why are they renaming so many schools as 'academy'? Is 'school' such a bad word?
Blimey! A hamlet more exciting than Luton! Makes anywhere in China a winner, eh?! No wonder little Rishi wants to give up curry n chips to invade China!
You have just described what used to be the English experience growing up! I'm 36 but so many similarities with things like playing out on the streets, knowing your phone number, infant school being next to junior school and going for the half day to get used to it etc.... I don't envy kids growing up in the UK now....
uk hasn't changed much, even windows and roads are painted lines. unlike china, if you go away for 6 months, when you go back, you can't recognise it.. china changes are faster than fast. I lived in london and other parts of uk for 36 years... i still like to visit it.
I got into an argument with some British ppl about the summer time sunset. When I said it doesn't get dark until around 9-10pm, they pushed back and said I was lying. I've lived here all my life, so I have no idea what these ppl were smoking.
My old primary school is now a block of apartments - they knocked down the beautiful Victorian building. 😳. Also the secondary school has been demolished and rebuilt from scratch. Time flies.
Those houses look familiar to me again. My last visit to UK was more than twenty years already. Was living and studying there for few years. I had my first fish and chip (authentic) there.
I looked up Barnford Park Oldbury and Langley, and found they were not far from Birmingham, only a few km away. Is Langley a country town or is it a suburb of Birmingham?
Thanks for sharing this. It reminds me of my time in Rochdale, Lancs., where I worked as a bus conductor for 2 months in the autumn of 1973 (for SELNEC Northern). I really liked the place. It's amazing how similar English towns look. You forgot to mention which town this is.?? -- OK, I guess it's Oldbury.
Barrett good and sweet memories of your childhood 👍👏❤️👨👨👦👦🌻🙏
It is nice and nostalgic everytime you walk down memory lane

Absolutely love this, I think we all have similar nostalgia inside of us❤

@@JohnnysCafe_new upload but yes, shot in 2023, says so in the description
@@AmelieZh yes thanks, I explained my misunderstanding in message above.
Thank you for sharing the beauty of your hometown.
A wise man always remember one's root!
It's crazy how much of the UK looks the same. It could be from my town. I've got so many similar memories. Thanks for sharing! ❤

Nice walk down the memory lane!
Thanks for showing us your home. It's beautiful 😍
nice fish and chips yum
so much nice memories from Childhood, I can totally understand why Lee is so excited when he sees all the things from his hometown
Good to see your hometown. It is beautiful and missed for you.
It's nice to see a positive look around somewhere in England. Most video's just go for the shock value of bad areas or places overran with immigrants
Looks so depressing in UK. Hardly anyone around.

Nostalgia great reminiscences and memories. Wonderful!!!

nice and relaxing, enjoy home.
thanks for sharing. cheers.
Thank you! Cheers!
just noticed that you look a bit like that piano player who made totally the opposite of what you do about China.😂
Always an excitement to be back to one's childhood, and a lot of regrets too. Wu (things) shi (remain) ren (people) fei (change) in Chinese.
Play Bee Gees Melody Fair as you drive through the neighbourhood.

I really like this video. When one gets older, childhood memories are always beautiful.
Gloomy weather, rising cost of living, the future is depressing.
My old primary school is now a block of apartments - they knocked down the beautiful Victorian building. 😳. Also the secondary school has been demolished and rebuilt from scratch. Time flies.
可以看出你很兴奋,回首过去总是令人激动。 你年轻时是个十分勤劳快乐的孩子,哈哈哈😄
UK doesnt have daylight savings?
Guten Morgen aus Hamburg 🇩🇪
0121- are Birmingham phone numbers. So were you born in Birmingham? Welcome back to Birmingham, Lee¬
Yes, I was born in Oldbury, very close to Birmingham.

Wow! Enjoy family time😊
Welcome back home! ; )
🙂🙏👍👍🙏🙂
👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing!
The houses in UK are pretty old and small comparing to US.. Small front yard and backyard!😅😅
cool ~ good to know.
What a lovely walk down memory lane Lee… thank you so much for sharing! What a happy childhood you had.
Barrett 你中国领真不到工资了😂😂😂CNM
How nice memories 😊

Neat and nice neighborhood
Very interesting video. Good old British architecture. Not like anywhere else
I looked up Barnford Park Oldbury and Langley, and found they were not far from Birmingham, only a few km away. Is Langley a country town or is it a suburb of Birmingham?
Yup, fish and chips on Fridays, that's an old British tradition. To be tasty, they ought to be wrapped in newspapers !!
I used to live in Harborne not far from these places!! But I hardly visit Oldbury. Thanks for showing your hometown!! Very interesting place!!
Yes, very close to Birmingham., Oldbury is classified as a town, Langley is smaller. They actually are part of the county of "West midlands"
Back to childhood memories
UK weather
So few people on the streets
I love fish and chips
Lee good to see you happy and healthy. What a great memory you have. You are a hard working boy. When are you going back to china?
You deserve to have a trip to visit your family because you have been working hard in China.
Very interesting. Could tell you were happy to be back where great memories were made 👌
Looking healthy these days.
Where's the Jaguar?
That place is already unrecognisible because getting close to ba a islamic state😂😂😂
It is always a nice feeling to revisit places where one grew up. Many fond memories and nostalgias. Hope to see more of this!
Barret speaking about fish and chips, you almost slobber. Hahahaha
Enjoyed this one. I'm from down the road and was at that Sainsburys the other day.
Im surprised uk still have fish since russia blocked uk from fishing in their area lol
Looks like suburban areas of Canada and the US too! :-)
That was fun walking down memory lane, Lee. 😄
Where are all the homeless people?
removed prior to shooting.
Nice. Milk round, paper round, good old days.

Big respect to you Lee & people who still respect family values 👏
Glad to see your hometown.
Lovely hometown, enjoy the hometown staying.
A beautiful childhood memory for life time.
Everything is almost the same!
Langley. We’re practically local neighbours from many years ago.
Wow, small world.
I enjoyed this video tremendously. Have a great time back home.
Thank you!
Hiya - is this Oldbury near Wolverhampton?
Indeed it is...
Blummy Hull , Clean Street like in China
Did you leave home or get kicked out?
Haha, I left home to take a job in a different area.
Houses like the first one you grew up in nowadays in south London are around £800,000!
Yes, it crazy that my parents only paid around 2,000 pounds.
Nice n' peaceful town.
Have a good time to both of you 👍
Love this
My phone number also ends with 2839, lol!
Wow.. small world indeed.
No where feels more like home!
❤ C30
Looking at the Britain now, you have to admit that the glorious time is over.
beautiful town
quaint and beautiful
Very nice place! Having grown up in the countryside in China, I like places with trees and vefeyations.
Beautiful! 😆😘
Great sharing.
Nice walk down the memory lane! What city is this?
It's a town, Oldbury, near to Birmingham.
always cloudy😂
❤❤❤
Can't believe you have to wear a jacket in May, LOL.
Yeah, actually it was May 2023, but still quite cool at that time.
were u into pink floyd, deep purple, jethro tull, etc, etc..
Nah, not so much heavy rock, more into POP music.
Sorry for asking, what part of uk is here?
It's a place called Oldbiry, near to Birmingham.
