I absolutely love how many people are jumping in on Ed’s Nugget and Rokon. The work by everyone has been nothing short of awesome. It’s takes me back to my younger days when I did this type of work for fun. I focused on motorcycles mostly but did do a couple cars.
The Nugget brought alot of people together. You guys and I think alot of watchers. I found you, Bobby Laton, the bike guys and Fab Rats. I enjoy you all and can't wait to see all of you present this car bike and trailer to him. You guys have alot of heart! Thanks for letting us share this with you all.
Chad, I spent much of my working career as an EE, designing and building control systems for large scale factory automation high speed, high precision, projects, frequently "one of a kind systems". What we do in effort isn't really appreciated by those who haven't been there and done it. Your work is top notch. A very few have this capability and the rest don't fully appreciate what it takes to do it. Thank you, and I know Ed will thank you too. I have become a subscriber of your channel and look forward to watching more of your work.
I’ve been an EE for 25 years, worked on some really complicated stuff, but automotive wireing still intimidates me. It’s not just electric it’s also very much mechanical and a very unique and valuable skill. Very nice work indeed… Glad to see the nugget getting close it’s been a long journey….
At 20 minutes I started hollering "go motor,go!" This project is so special. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching great men work with big hearts full of nothing but love. I'm really hoping to see a wheel well liner to help protect that beautiful paint.

So many people have given their time, talent and materials to this build. In a divided world it's nice to see folks combine their talents and work together to accomplish a meaningful project. I look forward to seeing Ed's reaction.
When Chad was trying to start it, there was a recurrent spark visible on the driver’s side just behind the transmission cooler at about the mid-point of the cooler. Outstanding job Chad! I was amazed at how complicated the wiring appeared to be on such a small vehicle but you brought everything up to today’s standards and added the computer and controls. Incredible dedication and talent.
Chad I started watching because of the Nugget, however as I watch your channel I enjoy your approach to your work. You seem to have a calmness to what you do and when you talk it is easy to understand what you are trying to relay to your viewers so glad I subscribed and keep up the great work you do! What a super effort all you guys and gals are doing for Ed. He must be some special guy and he will love the Nugget, Trailer and Bike. Mike Spokane WA
I get pretty tense and frustrated when a project isn't going well, and certain people just have an aura of Zen calmness that soothes my troubled soul. My wife can just pull up a chair in the garage and read a book while I work, and her simple presence, even if she's not directly helping, is calming. You seem like that same kind of person - I would enjoy working with you.
I just finished turning an abandoned lawn mower into a utility tractor for tugging spreaders and disc harrows around our place. Dealing with the safety interlocks was mind numbing. I never did figure out all the ground faults and put a direct kill switch to the coil instead. Chad must love his work. His patience is admirable.

Recall going through San Diego based Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) in the mid 1970s and seeing the shop where they made up replacement / new wire harnesses for USN ships being worked on at the shipyard. Blue prints were attached to plywood boards with pegs as end points of each part of the harness. They were complex and immense builds. Chad, Love the show: As a die-hard do-it-myselfer I am always running into wiring issues whether it is with an electric guitar and amp, an old motor home or issues in my garage. I would like to see the crimping tools you use and their uses, the stripping tools and their uses, soldering techniques, types of solder and soldering guns and bare bones basic ways of general wiring for every day usage. I know you cover many different aspects of fabrications from the ground up but what sets you apart is your ability to tackle the "Forbidden" wiring harness rats nests with such ease. Thanks for the inspiration, We enjoy your family's tightness and self-same interests! Keep it going feller!
Chad, you .. are.. THE MANN!! Paul is lucky to have you as a compadre with your set of skills in big projection such as this one. Nice job to everyone involved
Chad's fabs is simply amazing at doing the wiring menagerie and figuring out where everything goes so that it works correctly. 👍 Yes the Nugget is alive and running! Amazing job Paul, Ben and Randall team for a job well done!
Hi Chad. Just a note to tell you that I really admire the work you have done on the Nugget. I was thrilled to see it start, yesterday. Congratulations on a really superb piece of work.
Wow, your work is AMAZING! I have built a ton of cars in my day, but I could NEVER come close to doing as good of a wiring job as you did! Your attention to detail and ability to logically work through problems is really impressive. Great Job, can't wait to watch more content in the future!

Great job Chad .. it’s really coming together nicely.. can’t wait to see it at 100% And - several different variations of ‘ nobody knows the trouble I’ve seen’ ..Which was originally published in 1867 but had been around long before that
What a nice family! Chad's Fab has done an excellent job on the wiring! All of those who've had a hand in this restoration, my hat's off to you all! God Bless and waiting for the final dedication and delivery to Ed. Your all the kind of friends we all would love to have!
When all the lights illuminated as expected, it was a very good feeling, (relief)). Working with an older display console and steering column switch assembly, places uncertainty into a wire job… Glad you have the coolness to stay with the job. Looks excellent. The engine start at the end was another good moment.
Chad, that was a BEAUTIFUL wiring job. You’ve made it look like it came like that from the factory. AND you’re the first one to sign ✍️ the Nugget’s hood. Just earned a new subscriber. 👍🇺🇸
Thank you for the kind words and for your subscription! It has been a privilege to be a part of this build and to be able to put my name on it is just the cherry on top.
Somebody is gonna have to get Ed a setup where he can watch all the videos on the nugget after he gets it back so he can see all the hard work it’s taken.
Excellent patient and persistent work professionally accomplished. I learned some helpful tips about wiring while enjoying watching the Nuget make progress. 👍
Chad and the fab rat crew you are great working on Ed's jeep he's going to be so excited about this jeep,,,and that's awesome getting your 67 firebird,, that's a great car very original and your give away car ... great jobs 😊😊👍👍👍👍
Good job Chad man that's a lot of wiring i know Ed will really appreciate all the hard work and sacrifice that people like you and others have put into this once in a life time surprise to come true for a very gentle kind hearted man
You just gave Me an idea for the headlights. "Relays" I may just change My '87 Crown Victoria to same system as 1/2 of present is getting too hot from current going though present way. First time i ever saw Papa Dar jump! lol Also, Very nice job on the Wiring Harness!
I know Ford ran headlight current through the switch in at least the early 90s f series, that part ends up lasting a year or so normally. Relay conversion makes it last forever
I used 4 relays for the headlights on my 91 Crown Vic. I did a few wiring mods to have 4 low beams and 4 hi. Toasted the stock headlight switch before adding the relays.
Been watching the progress on this. I love all the vids from Matt, Robby, Paul and everyone else! I know the love and hard work you all have done on the Nugget. Been there before myself. I got a little teary eyed to hear it fire that first time! All who are doing this for a special friend are as special as Ed! Awesome!
It’s fantastic watching how everyone is doing their thing yet working together so well on the Rokon, Rokon Trailer, and the Nugget. I can’t wait for the reveal to Ed of everything that people have been working on, and hearing the Golden Nugget running was awesome. Nice Job Chad, and the rest of the FabRats team…
Never has a vehicle been more carefully and lovingly restored than Ed’s Nugget. What a great way to show appreciation for him. You guys really went far above and beyond.
I was telling my wife "they're going to fry the starter". Old starter with long cranks and no cooldown between cranks usually ends that way. In the end I guess it worked out OK as a stress test - the new starter sounds way better and has better crank speed. Great job on the wiring, congrats!!

im sitting here thinking the same thing, these guys have years on me too. hit it with some carb clean or engine start, turn it over.. well obviously after making sure the cams line up and the distributor cap is right, throw a light gun on there, laying on the starter wasnt the solution.
Very nice video! You talked about the width of the axles, I'm wondering if anyone was concerned putting fender flares or something to protect the paint from what ever those awesome tires throw at it. Cause it will happen. I've asked a few times about if there's is oil in the differentials don't assume there is. I'm looking out for Ed and the nugget.

Yep looks 100% factory under the Bonnet.
Wow, thank you for the kind words!
THE NUGGET IS ALIVE!!
GREAT WORK CHAD AND FAMILY!
#ChadsFab
So many people coming together to collaborate, to film, to work, to sweat and bless a brother!!
Well done Chad and family, well done!!
Congrats Chad for getting the LJ20 WIRING done, With-Out Going CRAZY.. great work guy's.
Thanks 👍
Great job Chad .. it’s really coming together nicely..
can’t wait to see it at 100%
And
- several different variations of ‘ nobody knows the trouble I’ve seen’ ..Which was originally published in 1867 but had been around long before that
Well done Chad what a fantastic job you have done you should be very proud of yourself, pity you couldn’t get to start it anyway cheers for now
Awesome work Chad! So amazing that the wiring was all good. I know, from experience, that it's a pro that can only have this kind of success.
Awesome job on the wiring Chad! Glad you were a part of the Nugget build. Thanks for the video!
I am grateful to be a part of this project.
I absolutely love this series and being a former aftermarket car audio, remote start whatever electrical guy. I appreciate the work you do!
What a nice family! Chad's Fab has done an excellent job on the wiring! All of those who've had a hand in this restoration, my hat's off to you all! God Bless and waiting for the final
dedication and delivery to Ed. Your all the kind of friends we all would love to have!
Looking forward to his reaction myself.
@@chadsfab The repeater lights (on the fender in front of the doors ) are not blinking.
Oh I'm both intimidated and overwhelmed by even basic wiring but what you are doing does take a certain kind of genius and pragmatism. Impressive!
Great job on wiring the Nugget! I was excited when the lights worked as advertised.
Somebody is gonna have to get Ed a setup where he can watch all the videos on the nugget after he gets it back so he can see all the hard work it’s taken.
Maybe one video to sum it all up.
Amazing work Chad. So meticulous and detailed, true professional.

Excellent patient and persistent work professionally accomplished. I learned some helpful tips about wiring while enjoying watching the Nuget make progress. 👍
Chad and the fab rat crew you are great working on Ed's jeep he's going to be so excited about this jeep,,,and that's awesome getting your 67 firebird,,
that's a great car very original and your give away car ... great jobs 😊😊👍👍👍👍
Wow, what a lovely clean tidy job. Awesome effort.
Good job Chad man that's a lot of wiring i know Ed will really appreciate all the hard work and sacrifice that people like you and others have put into this once in a life time surprise to come true for a very gentle kind hearted man
Thanks for your time! I can't believe how much work and time have went into this build Ed's not going to know what to do.
Wow that is amazing to see the nugget run great job Chad, we love ya.
Congratulations Chad! To me, that was a monumental job!
Toasted the stock headlight switch before adding the relays.
ok
Been watching the progress on this. I love all the vids from Matt, Robby, Paul and everyone else! I know the love and hard work you all have done on the Nugget. Been there before myself.
I got a little teary eyed to hear it fire that first time! All who are doing this for a special friend are as special as Ed! Awesome!
It's alive ⚠️
..and with the lights working, she's got personality. 👀 A little ride with a HUGE presence. ✨️ I Love it!
That is an unreal amount of wiring to get done in two weekend. Very nice work.
Chad Fab set Fabrats up for
Success!! Started RIGHT up on new starter! You guys are crushing this!!!
Never has a vehicle been more carefully and lovingly restored than Ed’s Nugget. What a great way to show appreciation for him. You guys really went far above and beyond.
what can you say about a community that does this for an old guy? these people are amazing
Great work, Sir! It is nice to see the family with you.
Thank you kindly
I was telling my wife "they're going to fry the starter". Old starter with long cranks and no cooldown between cranks usually ends that way. In the end I guess it worked out OK as a stress test - the new starter sounds way better and has better crank speed. Great job on the wiring, congrats!!
Too many 850 CCAmps with the lithium ion battery
🤷🏻♂🤷🏻♂🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂Disaster in the making! This is NOT a restore! ONLY the frame was used from Ed's Original Nugget with a donor body! This is a complete FrankenZuki and Untested. Not sure if it will even be a street legal ClusterTruck! All for clicks and likes! Coming up on 1 year in October it was dragged out of the forest and destroyed the local terrain and polluted the river dragging underwater for clicks and likes! Reality TV in 2022! This vehicle will not hold up and predict within one month it will have a catastrophic failure and weekly repairs. For Ed (not clicks) once you realized it was a lost cause you would have raised $20K for a perfectly restored REAL LJ40 that Ed remembers. This? Nothing like he had other than the color and frame! Reality TV 2022! How long will this post remain? Truth!
im sitting here thinking the same thing, these guys have years on me too. hit it with some carb clean or engine start, turn it over.. well obviously after making sure the cams line up and the distributor cap is right, throw a light gun on there, laying on the starter wasnt the solution.
Starter was full of rust and goo.
Ed's going to love it. Awesome work by everyone involved.
You’ve got the patience of Job!!! Great job sir!!! God bless
Thanks 👍
Awesome job Chad and crew!! Can't wait to see the reveal and hope everyone that had a hand in this will be there!
Chad ,worth your weight in gold, awesome work and part of an exceptional team congratulations people!
Much appreciated!
Chad, Many Thanks to all your hard work on this special project! We all appreciate it very much. We'll done.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
I wish I could be 1/2 as calm as Chad when things don’t go as planed, you all are a great group of guys, gals!!!!!!!!
I sure am glad to see someone else with my luck! Outstanding job Chad!
No plans for flares that I know of. As little as it will be driven it shouldn't be a problem.
All of the gear boxes have oil.
