The Yellow Submarine has arrived in Lake Havasu City, AZ! Some of the Fab Rats Crew, Paul, Ben, and Hunter come from Utah and bring this gem of a boat that was pulled from Lake Powell! The boat is full of mud and the engine needs to come out to start this restoration! You don't want to miss this. Head over to Fab Rats RUclips channel to see more of the story!
/ fabrats
My two favorite cousins on RUclips. Edit: Three. Sorry about that Ben. I forgot you're Paul's brother Lots of grins in this vid.
🦅🇺🇸🏁😎
I’m so stoked for this project! I love buried treasure!
Finnegan , I was thinking of you when I first seen this project.
I figured you would get wind of this one.. just watched your latest mail episode.
cool to see you here =)
Well you better grab your peg legs eye patches and your pirate hats because we're lootin fer berried treasure
I had a feeling that a wild Finnegan would find his way to this boat.
Retired Auto Tech here with 42 years in the industry and have NEVER seen an engine submerged in water for 30+ years turn over, yet alone run. Absolutely mind blowing. Well done, guys!!
This is going to be awesome!!🎉
Fab rats sent me over😂👍
I think we need a detailed Story Time With Paul recounting the shop class acetylene bomb.
Fun to watch kin folk gittn'er dun!
Good to see you, just left Paul’s Channel
This video is so cool my brother had a boat similar to this one it was a great river boat. Can’t wait to see how this turns out.
I told them on Instagram last week I'll send a LS bellhousing, motor mounts, flywheel out from a illmore boat motor if they need them. I bought a a engine with 4hrs on it and a dropped valve. I don't need the stuff.
Guys this is an "over the top" good-natured project. Wish you all well.
I love how Fab rats and cousin Merlin's old school garage came together to work on the Yellow Submarine project!
Very Kool looks like fun tear down Melin and Paul Ben Hunter and Jim
Like a bunch of kids with their excitement about what they’re doing
I think Paul is going to find out about his 2 new favorite tools. West system and 3M 5200.
Yellow Submarine... AWSOME..! Getting the "old motor" back running was fun to watch as it reminds me of some of the crazy projects I did in past years. Needed a motor for a 63 Impala years ago...found an old 283 short block that had been sitting outside as a short-block for at least ten years... It was locked...tap....tap...tap...lots of mystery oil....sandpapered the cylinders...drove that car for eight years before replacing the 283 with a 327....Had no issues...no knocks...no overheating...no smoking....just was no HP...
Can we take a second and appreciate how awesome paul tuned the gas and oxygen flow for the torch and did it in such a smooth way!!
🔧🙌😊🏁
I was watching for that too.
Yes! It's amazing to me that sooo many people don't know how to tune a neutral flame!
@@lm464326 very true
Of course, he’s a derby guy!
WOW! THAT IS A TIME CAPSULE! I can't believe it came apart! Love watching and laughing with you guy's!
With it being fresh water and not salt water is probably what has saved this fine machine. Can't wait to see it finished.
If at all possible I would love to see that engine rebuilt. Having it run agian after all that would be amazing to see.
great to see all of the guy's working together and the joking an laughter well done guy's great video
So cool cousins collaboration love it .. can't wait to see it finished.
Good to see a family project in action.
Great video...looking forward to watching the build. 👍
Not a project for the faint of heart . Such a fine project . Thank You Merry Christmas
Love Merlin’s smile. Everyday his attitude about live ! I’m going to enjoy this journey. Stand the boat up on the transom, let the dirt fall out.
Brings back memories! Great start to a great project! Can't wait for the videos to come!!!!
Merlin has all the tools I only saw Paul use a hammer once!
Glad I watched Fab Rats first. I knew you’d have more content on the boat. And you’re gonna have to play Van Halen for the first song if you put a stereo back in.
Most definitely intrigued, this is going to be one of those "ya really can't wait..." series !! & we get blessed with double the content! Merry Christmas, & Thanx !
I want to be Merlins neighbor.....
Never a dull moment....
My Dad is from So Utah and growing on the east coast my co-workers always laughed at me when I called them water pump pliers. So nice to be vindicated. Thanks Fab Rats and Merilins.
I am looking forward to this project I really enjoyed the commentary between everyone. Paul's story about blowing the door off of shop class was hilarious.
So you if you read my first comment . I used to live in Lake Havasu in 97 . I had a boat like that . Might even be the same model . But ya that had power trim . I that I had a 305 . Great boat. I know everything about that boat .
Just found your channel. I lived in Havasu and miss it a lot. Will be watching from now on.
Awesome
Can't wait to see this thing rip around the lake. Should be a very interesting project.
i am pumped for this restoration.
Being a Water Well Driller nice to finally hear "Water Pump Pliers" and not a brand "Channellock" (s) or pliers. I even have a smooth jaw set/pair of them and a serrated set of water pump pliers made by the blue handle company Channellock ! This project should be pretty awesome when finished by everyone involved.
Great job Merlin !!.......that was hard to take apart....AFTER you found the jet drive.....lol...thanks for sharing with us !!
...what a cool collaborative project!...
Its a Christmas present knowing I get to join you three hilarious outlaws work your mechanical magic on something so frigging intriguing. Fascinating watching you all work together.
Well said

Fab Rats sent me 🥁🥁🥁
Boat, bring out a thousand, should be awesome build
Merlin and the boys do their magic!... good job everyone!! Merry Christmas!
This is the right crew to bring this boat back to life watching the skill & communication proves it, thank's for sharing Merlin great video ❤😉👍
This collaboration should have happened long ago, great to see you all working on a project together, same time at the same place.
Been waiting on this since Merlin started his channel. What it would be like there right there working with them.
Thirty yrs ago I had the same setup, big v8, Berkley pump, jetovator and electric pump articulation, shaved stops for big roosters..
all that teardown is SO familiar.. I cant recall how many times we had to pull ski lines and random ropes from the jet impellor shaft.. with that three inch port being the only top access! This is going to be a fun one 👍😎✊
Inside the Jetovator ElectroTrim is an automotive windshield wiper motor, wired fwd/rev.. a gear (tooth) rail is attached to the end of the articulation cable inside the ElectroTrim box, the windshield wiper motor drives the tooth rail in and out.. roosters, no roosters. Full down shoots you outta the hole yesterday. One toggle on the dash.
Looks like way too much fun is being had!!!
Approved!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
This is Cool 😎👌👍A very talented family!!
👍👍 thanks for this video feller 👊
My dad had a Glencoe and a Roger's jet in the 1970s. Cool boats of another Era.

True freshwater hotrod! Excited to see the progression of this after growing up water-skiing in places like Powell and the Colorado River. Very nostalgic thanks.

@@MerlinsOldSchoolGarage much appreciated legend 🙂
Yes he is! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you Rainman sweet wife happy holidays and love your videos
Hmm looks like a Southern Jet 309 so it should be real easy to get parts for that jet pump. Fun times.
Love seeing family and good friends working together !
Always watching Fab rats ,now will be fun watching you Merlin. In 2020 my wife and I spent a week in lake Havasu, beautiful city , ✌️from Canada
Thanks for the video. It's been great watching the cousins spend time together doing what they do best, tearing things apart and dreaming.
Stay safe healthy and happy 👍
Greetings from Torrance, Ca! Love your collaboration with Fab Rats! I could tell that Merlin has a ton of knowledge and is very capable of figuring things out. This will be a challenge, but a really fun one. Thanks for always being so positive! Take care!
Thank you for this video merlin, it was fun watching you boys work together and enjoying each other's company no fussing no cussing at least not much and a family having fun. My brother and I did a lot of stuff like this back in the late 70s early 80s and I truly that. Best regards, Bob from Virginia USA
New episodes can't come fast enough!!!
One of the best videos so far
You guys are great working together and Merlin is funny can't wait to see more of the yellow submarine thanks for the video and send more of them videos
Awesome video, great find ……. Can’t wait.
The word for today is! Red Nick! 😊. 😲. 😝.
IT'S really Spelled nEck
I watching your videos and I have my bells on your videos and I'm subscribed to your videos 👍
Can't wait to see this thing on the water again.
Cool restoration, looking forward to seeing the outcome of that poor boat : )
Man, this will be very interesting. Can’t see enough.
I'm also amazed the distributor even moved, not to mention the crank! I be there is almost no mud in the oil pan, if the oil system stayed sealed. Can't wait to see under the intake too! The rope on the impeller gives a clue. Maybe it locked it all up and the boat lunged to a stop. Might have swamped the whole boat that way. Can't wait to hear from the original owner!!
