    The 600i, on paper, is going to be perfect after the rework. A tier 2 medbay, and a cargo lift big enough for a tank or a snub. Sounds like a Carrack you can solo.

    Great video, liked & subscribed. My only input is to point out that any of the ships that can carry an Ursa Rover, can also carry a Mirai Fury instead. So instead of an extra crew member using a small turret, they would potentially be more effective using that to help attack or defend targets. However, doing so would reduce the amount of cargo space available for other things.

    • @TieJax
      @TieJax  8 месяцев назад +2

      @andrewmaughan1205, Thanks so much for watching and subscribing to the channel. You have a good point, a Constellation could have two snubs if you have the crew, could be a good surprise for some attackers if you can get both launched in time.

    For exploring Pyro i would take the Aquila over the Andromeda. More range, better scanner and a ursa in cargo bay. Andromeda is the warship in the constellation lineup.

    The Defender has the fuel capacity that lands between the Cutlass and the Taurus, in a ship 1/2 to 1/3rd the size. It is one of only a hand full of fighters with an interior. It has the most shield + guns + hab support under one stick of any small, "single seat" ship other than the Vanguard line, which is arguably more of a two seater, and all of its components are repairable/replaceable from the inside. It has a front loading ramp, meaning scooping up small boxes without a tractor beam is a breeze, right from flight view, in the pilot seat.
    As a "two person" craft, it is weirdly superior. Because so much can be done by the pilot, and the second player isn't necessary for flight or combat, they are free to help in the best way available in the moment.
    They can run shields and scanners (someday usefully,) or (in future iterations) sit on a bed with the component doors open and the repair gun out.
    They can be in heavy armor (Titan suit?) at the door, with LMG, ready for deployment, or to hold the entry from attackers.
    Or holding a hand tractor grabbing some loot and chucking it in the hold.
    While the lack of cargo grid will prevent it from dogfighting with fragile items inside, it seems to me the very highest ticket items in the game will be finished products, like technologies.
    Just today, with hand tools, personal storage, and an ample interior for small boxes, the Defender offers enough space to house a few million in drugs, yet no one at Jumptown scans it as they engage the defensive screen and it flies away.
    The future should have many such use cases for such a compact, yet versatile ship.

    • @TieJax
      @TieJax  8 месяцев назад +1

      @CapnSnackbeard, You have outlined all good points for the Defender. I would have it in my top 10 list, I just think it is beat out by the Vanguard for spot 6 in the top 6.

    Thanks for video. I've been debating this myself. I currently only own a Gladius and Redeemer. Find the redeemer not useful as I tend to fly solo. I'm trying to figure out best ship with a decent hangar to hold up to a 1-2 Fury, or 1-2 ROC + bikes and cargo. But as soon as you go for cargo space, you lose "fun" in flying, maneuverability, speed, and combat capability against fighters. The Andromeda is nice as it can carry a Fury and Archemedes. Corsair can carry several Furys. Really makes you more survivable if you bring friends to man them. Also to save on hydrogen fuel when planet-side. But they dont have space for boxes. Gotta make them compromises. Vanguards are beasts tho, and my go to money maker and instill some sort of confidence at least against most threats. Some of the ships on the list dont have much hydrogen, something to consider as well in Pyro.

    Love the Corsair. If you replace all the guns on it with fixed mount ballistic gatlings it absolutely shreds. The main size 5's have around 2600 rounds, where the two size 4's get a little over 1100. Overall, that gives you two minutes of continuous fire from the main guns, and about 53 seconds from the secondary weapons. Another added bonus is you can dump full power into the shields and not have to worry about weapon recharge.

    • @TieJax
      @TieJax  7 месяцев назад

      @Jmandude5, that is also a great ship to use and I have used the same build. Only issue is if you get an 890 Jump in the ERT group, you will usually run out of ammo before you can kill it.

    @DakkaDakka12 8 месяцев назад +16

    I am surprised you didn’t list the Redeemer.
    As a solo pilot you get 2x S-3 and 2x S-4 guns, 16x S-2 missiles
    Almost a corsair’s fuel tank, 2 huge shields and a very respectable hull hp.
    The only thing the Redeemer lacks is cargo space.

    • @schlagzahne6741
      @schlagzahne6741 8 месяцев назад +2

      It also lacks good missile defence, that is the bane of a deemer.
      Also the shields mean nothing vs ballistics, which will be seeing a change soon. As much as I respect the hull HP, it is still fairly low once shields are downed or bypassed.

    QT fuel and Hyd Fuel. Good luck using a military drive on a Connie or Vanguard. You are going to run out fast. Freelancer Dur, which I was surprised wasn't on the list, has twice the fuel of the Vanguard and just slightly less than double of the Connie. It also has the same advantage in hyd fuel over both ships. Corsair would be a much better ship over a Connie or Vanguard if you plan on fighting.

    • @TieJax
      @TieJax  8 месяцев назад

      @rclines001, I like to be able to jump out quickly and go fast with range as secondary. You can always swap to a more efficient drive if distance is your main concern. As for the Corsair as long as you can kill the target fast it is a great ship. Does not do well in a drawn-out fight.

      @@Lead1121 I personally like it a lot and use it more than my 400i. It is rather small, but is well shielded and has more HP than any other ship in its size and even most of the larger ones (sadly the engines are its Achilles heel), it is quite fast and with powered down weapons and shield somewhat stealthy, I don't really win fights in it, but I can endure them and even outlast them. With its huge weapons capacitor I can simply spray in the attackers general direction making sure he has to fly evasively wasting time and fuel, and those that can tank the shots, I can run from. But after all that I don't think it is worth its price tag ... and still I would buy it again.

    @arrclyde4325 8 месяцев назад +4

    You are aware that the "body HP" is actually the pool of all individual parts that can break off? The 600i for example doesn't have much of those, while the Constellation carries most of its HP in the individual engine pods. That has been done so that they do not break off so easily.
    So while the 600i has most of its HP actually on the body, the Conny does not.
    And i don't know if they have fixed it, but having the snub with you was an absolute disadvantage. The Merlin wasn't shielded by the Conny and had its shields off. You just had to target the Merlin to make it blow up in the back of the Conny right between the main engines.

    • @TieJax
      @TieJax  8 месяцев назад

      @arrclyde4325, Yes I know how the ship's total hull points are calculated, and the Connie can have issues with the snub. But most ships in the game have issues and they will be fixed... well at some point! Maybe!! Crap!!!!

    • @arrclyde4325
      @arrclyde4325 8 месяцев назад

      @@TieJax the "fix" is removing ship hp and replacing it with armor values. That is a huge difference. Because if you hit a ship at a place where there is no vital component behind it, it doesn't do anything to the ships health or performance.
      But for current stats: the Connies hull hp is actually lower than the one of the 600i's. You don't have mich use from the 188k hp of the Conny when the enemy ignores 4/5th of it and doesn't aim for the engines but the main body instead.

    This list is going to change drastically when you see what CIG is going to do to solo pilots with their lovely engineering system (constant component damage, fires, shutdowns, etc). The bigger the ship you solo, the harder dealing with that stuff is going to be. Solar flares may cause this kind of system damage, won't that be nice.

    Very cool, man. I'd probably fly the 600i. I am curious though, I know it's not out just yet, and I know it was mentioned in the video, but in your opinion, the exploration zeus, would you think it might be viable? I imagine it'll probably be out by the time pyro comes out. Perhaps not the strongest, but it does seem like it might be zippy. The ships listed are pretty big and I would definitely be one to fly out of a situation than stay to fight.

      @achildofbodom1, thanks for watching, and a good question, I think the Zeus will be a good fit for Pyro. Do you have de ‘base’ version pledged (for I think $150 ish?) with the (torpedo) bomber version as loaner? In that case I would at least wait for IAE and see if they will release it and check if it is really ‘your’ ship. To be fair, the Andromeda is a great ship, although it needs some love. The Taurus version would be nearly as viable, as the Andromeda’s snub isn’t worth much (it’s broken a lot) and in 3.21.1 the Taurus’ tractor beam will work and will be very convenient. It’s $50 cheaper too and can carry quite a lot more cargo. The central part of the Taurus body has less armor as the Andromeda, however in fights with npc’s I haven’t noticed much difference. If you run into pirate players in more nimble ships you won’t get away either way, if they play it right. So there’s that. Furthermore, the Constellations come with an Arrow as a loaner. The Retaliator has de Gladiator as a loaner and while I love its esthetics, it isn’t a good ship for doing bounties at all, while the Arrow is. Cheers o7

    • @ParagonFangXen
      @ParagonFangXen 8 месяцев назад +1

      Given the rules that 1-Majority of gunner DPS needs to be bound to the pilot, or at least more DPS than any one Turret, or its primary method of dealing damage need be pilot bound(this is how i feel you should have phrased your own rule to be more consistant) 2- It must be solo-able and not dependant on multiple crew to operate , and 3- That
      It should be optimized for Pyro in terms of shielding for Pyro-Bursts and Fuel Capacity due to long distance travel
      1) Constellation - all 4 models are excellent choices so it can fit you for Exploration, Combat, Luxury, or Cargo
      2) Corsair - It feels like it was made specifically for Pyro honestly
      3) 600i Explorer - Costly but also the only ship on this list with a dedicated Med-Bed without using a C8R as a snub. Will be even better after its rework
      4) Retaliator - long range, big booms. Room for pepes, and once rework comes, modularity for multiple purposes
      5) Redeemer - i dont love it, but it has massive DPS pilot bound, and insane shield capacity, and all the amenities.
      6) MSR... i think - without looking it up, i THINK its pilot guns are 1 size larger than either of its turrets guns, meaning it can squeak by on this list. Which is good, because it is fast, has space for cargo vehicles and crew, and has Data Running capability for when that comes online.
      6r) in case i am wrong about the MSR guns, i acttually do like the Vangaurd series here. - my pick would be the Harbinger, but i understand others love the Sentinel, and honestly they all work for Pyro pretty well.

    • @TieJax
      @TieJax  8 месяцев назад +1

      @ParagonFangXen, thanks for watching. You only swapped the Retaliator and Redeemer for the 400i and Vanguard. I view the Retaliator and Redeemer as better with the crew manning the turrets as giving these ships their major DPS. You can argue that the Retaliator's major DPS is its S9 missiles do that but only for large ships, you are not going to hit anything that is size medium or smaller unless the pilot is AFK. Vanguard and 400i have the major of the DPS controlled by the pilot. The Vanguard's ability to defend itself is already established. As for the 400i, the goal for it is not to win the fight but to survive long enough to escape.

    • @ParagonFangXen
      @ParagonFangXen 8 месяцев назад

      @@TieJax as for the Retaliator and Redeemer being better with manned crew on turrets... yeah. Same as every ship on this list. As for the 400i maintaining primary dps in comparison to almost any other ship either of us listed... the only ship it beats proportianately is the MSR, and only thanks to the 400i good missile capacity. As for the Retaliators missiles not hitting medium or small targets, we'll see. Missile gameplay is not finalized yet, but right now i hit ANY target i aim for with my size 9s. Easy as pie to take out a medium size Cutlass Black right now, so im not sure why you think it would be ineffective, and it can outsurvive and outrun ANY smaller ship even BETTER than the 400i with more Hull streangth by far, allowing for a safer disengagment when under fire, especially with how master modes will work. Unlike the 400i which is built primarilly for non-hostile exploration, Tali is literally built for disengagment under fire as a bomber, hit and RUN. :)
      As for the Vangaurd vs Redeemer, id ve happy with either. I have a preference for size of guns over number of guns thanks to how armor will be implemented, so i chose Redeemer. Vangaurds got one big boi and a bunch of pellet shooters, which makes sense, its a fighter, meant to battle other shios of similar or dimunitive size, and its more manuervable by far than tbe redeemer. But there will come a time when i am going to value ripping through armor more than overwhelming shields, so the Redeemers my guy, but i can see why someone would prefer the Vangaurd if you are thinking of it as a dedicated fighter. One more thing the Vangaurd series COMPLETELY lacks, cargo space, making it a suboptimal daily driver. The Redeemer isnt great with only 2 SCU capacity on its little grid, but 2 is InFiNaTeLeY higher than 0, making it a better chouce for me in Pyro. I wanna be able to loot my enemies. One last bonus that shouldnt matter (but really does in the current state of the game) is that the Redeemer comes fully stocked with Food and Water evertime you claim it, a fantastic bonus even in stanton where space stations with food courts are everywhere, so imagine how much better it'll be in Pyro.

In other words I don't recommend going into Pyro solo unless you have dedicated fighter. The only way I'd go into Pyro with a cargo ship is if I had backup... The Connie, 400i, Mercury, and Corsair are all liabilities because they have terrible maneuverability in solo head to head combat. It's a suicide mission.

      It is, the tech preview was also very condensed and focused players all into relatively small areas with few quantum markers.
      The biggest thing that was missing in Pryro ( and in stanton now) is a reputation system that actually has consequences - aka locking yourself out of getting fuel and repair services, getting attacked die to reputation, not killing other players who have good rep with a faction you don't want to piss off.
      How CIG puts rep in is a HUGE deal in my opinion

    the MSR is the ship i have had the most misshaps such as ship takes off in high winds half the time i run and wait into doors and loading vehicles in back has resulted in the most kabooms.
    not a fan of the corsairs landing and wings 2 separate buttons but i live with it

If you are of the mind to stand and fight you will lose more often regardless of the ship you are using. If the odds are in your favor then again you should win more often regardless of the ship you are using. And you exclude a C2 because the pilot doesn't have most of the firepower, but that is wrong. The co-pilot has 2 sets of 2xS4 guns but can only control 1 set at a time so the firepower is equal. And then the pilot has the option to swap to 2xS5 fixed guns giving him more firepower. And no Cutlass. It meets all the requirements just fine. Nice vid but way too heavy on unskippable adds. As for Connie’s, I’d have gone with the Aquila. It may give up top turret and the size one missiles but it keeps main firepower and is faster than the others.

    • @TieJax
      @TieJax  8 месяцев назад +1

      @videonaj, You sir get it!!!! Don't spend real money for ships you can get in the game. Support the game if you want, but you can get any ship in-game w/o paying crazy money for it. IF you want to spend the money then go the CCU route and get the ship of your dreams for less than what CIG wants you to pay for it.

    • @TieJax
      @TieJax  8 месяцев назад

      @038alpha, This is exactly what you should do in Pyro when in an MSR, or 400i. With the speed advantage they have you should be able to get away unless there is a Mantis or Cutlass Blue after you. Master modes will change things up a lot, but they are not in the game yet.

  • @CapnSnackbeard
    @CapnSnackbeard 8 месяцев назад +1

    The 600i is ideal for touring, but it is going to want an escort.
    Same with the 400i.
    Even the Corsair is going to have some trouble with two fighters. If it can't leave, it has problems.
    I think the real problem with this list is that the single most important factor in survining an area with hostiles is the abity to choose your engagement.
    With the exception of the Vanguard, these are all medium ships with medium ship signatures, and medium ship handling. Easier to spot and easier to trap.
    The 400i and Mercury are reasonably zippy for their size.
    Their stronger shields might help them nope-out of a fair fight early, but they are't juking a quantum snare in many of these. They'll usually have to fight their way out the honest way. Who has time for honesty? Hehe
    Solo, I believe a player should stick to modest, flexible, expandable ships.
    The Vanguard lineup is a great choice.
    The Cutty lineup is pretty solid, and on the smaller side of medium.
    The Constellation is pretty fair, if slow, and it really wants for additional crew to cover all it's blind spots.
    The Defender is good, if limited by a lack of cargo grid.
    The A1 is weirdly pretty decent. It is undergunned, but it sure brings the pain planetside, it's fast af, and is small enough to justify a single hand. In space at least it can run.
    The stealth ships don't generally offer much besides stealth and alpha strike ability, but the Retaliator has 80 trillion HP and is big enough to stuff boxes in even without a grid.
    All the ships here will work fine in some head to head matchups, or against AI, but some of them lack the ability to choose their engagements, and that will ultimately cause them problems, IMO.

      @CapnSnackbeard, thanks for watching, and you have some good points. I think most people are thinking they have to fight and win. Staying alive in Pyro will be based on whether a person is able to know when to fight and when to flee.
