Anyone with a car built this century has probably run into this problem once or twice, cracked body plastics on bumpers, side skirts and other body kit goodies. Was looking for a solution that anyone can do at home, without any real skill. Having never welded plastic before i was pretty skeptical on the plasti-weld process but now that its done I think the results speak for themselves!

You soldering up console plastics or the standard broken tail light surround centre panel?

Not bad! The type of plastic should be stamped somewhere on the molding/bumper. It's almost always PP. Older Mercedes can be a thermoset of some kind and not weldable. Next time around, remove more of the surrounding paint, reshape as best you can with the heat gun and weld back the actual plastic (smaller tip and dolly). Then the wire mesh for reinforcement if needed.

Awesome tips man - thanks for the - was really surprised how well heat worked to get imperfections out. There was a small dent on the drives side of the bumper that i missed in my original repair and I was just about to heat it up and push it out which was great 👍
