Why is this comment section so toxic? Sinner was the better player physically and mentally and won deservedly so. Simple as that. This doesn't take anything away from Novak's greatness. People need to grow up honestly.

The commentators kinda frustrated me, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened with other commenters.
Jannik allowed ONE break point (not converted) and by listening to the commentators, you would've assume that Djokovic just completed the greatest comeback of all time. Frustrating to hear very little credit go to the better player.

Sinner showed Novak what others haven’t. His game and never backed down from it. Full trust in his ability to be offensive and make it happen. Novak usually waits for others to crack and that was never Sinner. Also, sinner technique always for less errors and heavy balls. Novak is used to most people on tour not being able to play like Sinner, therefore making Novak look like he was having an off day when in reality, Sinner played Novak the way Novak plays others. Taste of his own medicine

For those who really understand tennis, in this entire match unlike the highlights, you understand how Sinner destroyed Djokovic not only in terms of the game but above all psychologically. In the first games you can see how Djokovic normally hit his powerful shots but they had no effect on Sinner, in fact sinner always hit harder than Djokovic. Starting from the return on Djoko's first serve, Sinner not only always responded, but he responded deeply and powerfully, always taking command of the rally even on Djoko's first serve. That's where Djokovic started to feel helpless and slowly, losing more and more confidence, he started making more mistakes.
No bad day for Djokovic, Sinner in this match was simply stronger from all points of view and you can clearly see it by rewatching this match in its entirety!

Djokovic won't win another major. He can win 500 and 250 on Hardcourts.
AO Djokovic is just trash in day sessions, he lost to Istomin and Chung. I don't see him beating Tsitsipas In a day sessions forget about Sinner, Alcaraz or Medvedev.
He needs 6 matches if not all 7 matches matches at night in AO to win those 10 Titles. SF and Final it was all night sessions in those 10 Titles.
Current AO has more day sessions cause it added 1 more day from 14 Days it's now 15 Days. Matches start much earlier and finish earlier. Djokovic had day matches in 4R, QF and SF in AO2024. I don't see any difference. He will get 3 day matches every year, not like in the past where he only gets 1 day matches if not he don't even get a single day match in AO. Djokovic will lose QF in a day session against say Rune, Rublev, Tsitsipas and Nadal. SF he has no chance day or night matches against Alcaraz, Sinner or Medvedev.
Wimbledon same thing Djokovic won't it anymore. Day Session he can beat weak players in the Final like Kyrgios, Berrettini, Anderson or Nadal in 2011 who was tired from the 2010 Season.
Federer was also old in 2014, 2015 and 2019. Djokovic won't beat Alcaraz in a day session, even roof Sessions. Djokovic needs the closed roof to win another Wimbledon over Alcaraz I mean it won't even guarantee his win. Nadal who was old, slow and injury prone took Djokovic 5 sets in Indoor Conditions. So yeah Djokovic won't beat Alcaraz. Sinner just went 5 sets in 2022 without a roof playing in sunny conditions. Djokovic is beatable in day conditions or weak. Nadal, Sinner, Alcaraz can beat him in day sessions. Even in Roof closed it's still a tight match. Djokovic will likely face 2 if not all 3 of these guys to win another Wimbledon. Djokovic wont win another major in Wimbledon.
Roland Garros no chance aswell. Only when Alcaraz cramps again or Nadal gets injured. It's day sessions he was fortunate in 2021 where SF was night sessions and Nadal got injured. 2023 luck also came again Nadal injured and Alcaraz cramped, Zverev was not there yet, or Sinner. It's much harder to win RG, with current Sinner, Zverev, Alcaraz. Nadal just needs to remove a Hardcourt Slam to avoid injuries before RG every year. Djokovic won't another major at RG.
US Open is for young guys. Old guys are done. Djokovic was basically given US Open 2023. Zverev, Medvedev, Sinner and Alcaraz was on the otherside of the draw. He got Ruud, Tsitsipas and FAA who lost before Round 3. US Open more day sessions and wind. Lol.
Overall Hardcourts are tough to the knees and joints to keep playing, legs get tired easily on Hardcourts cause its tough. AO is no longer the AO that Djokovic used to play with more day sessions. US Open more day sessions and more wind. Lol.
Grass bending the legs lower to play low bounce balls, gets tired faster. Djokovic is taller, Alcaraz is shorter so he don'ty have that issue and won't get tired easily on Grass like the taller Djokovic.
Clay has longevity to the joints, the legs don't get tired easily on Clay. Nadal has another level of firepower in the FH on Clay, longevity is guaranteed in his play style on Clay.
Nadal will keep winning Roland Garros till he is 46 to win 21 Roland Garros and have 29 Grandslams overall, his Clay Masters will also increase from 26 to 40 Masters overall have 50 Masters. Nadal catches Djokovic in Slams and Masters.
2023 not much test at RG and US Open so Djokovic got 2 more majors. RG Ruud got bageled by Nadal, USO Medvedev also a guy Nadal is undefeated at Hardcourt Slams, also Medvedev had to face Alcaraz. Sinner wasn't the Sinner now, Alcaraz got better in Majors. Nadal coming back. Zverev aswell is back and Medvedev is back aswell. A completely different year in 2024.
Only thing that's for sure in 2024, is Rafa at RG provided he doesn't get hurt, he doesn't get hurt on Clay as much, Doha and Indian Wells Rafa just needs to lose before QF. Lol and make it safely to Clay and he gonna win Masters on Clay and Roland Garros to return Top10, additional points in Wimbledon, ATP Finals and US Open returns him to Top6-7 in the world and keep going from there.

Really appreciate the attitude Jannik has..as he said in the post match talk, that he was looking forward to the match against Novak,as this was an opportunity for him to learn something,as he did back from his Wimbledon loss..
This attitude itself is a great thing..many actually develop fears or some sort of resistance, carry forward the disappointment from these bitter encounters...but Jannik, courageously, humbly has taken the positives of it and is ready to accept the outcome of the result, but importantly have the attitude to approach it,to learn from it...such a golden thing..which let's him free from those withholding fears and allows him to express himself on the court and learn too...
Plus the way he didn't let him the missed match point opportunity in third set to distract him and was up and running in the fourth...and won a game being 0-40 low down..was impressive to say the least...
the thought of improving himself..he has mentioned it many times and it's part of his system... not thinking his game is already great, but concentrated on the work...really mature,humble..glad to have seen the match, interview... like how he learns from other players,we can learn from the attitude to approach our day to day life...

two decades? really? only in the second decade of his career did Djokovic shine brightly; the first decade was all Federer and Nadal, and part of the second decade as well. these commentators are all hyperbole when it comes to Djokovic.

What we have here is a fantastic new player playing against the GOAT on a bad day. Novak earned himself about a C - or a D + for his performance (by his lofty standards). I'm willing to grant that part of Novak's problem was Skinner himself, who has no real weaknesses whatever. But Novak was just off, and had he played at his best, he still would have come out on top. On a general note, I'm very happy Sinner won the tournament, for he's a breath of fresh air and an awfully nice guy.

I think Djokovic should have taken a long sabbatical after his victory at the ATP tournament. He experienced a highly successful year but he is 36 and his body and mind must have been drained to some extent. Also at his age it is a case of diminishing returns wereas Sinner is hungry, young and just getting better.

Djokovic Said to his box : it's over for all of you, it seems he repeated a word multiple times in serbian meaning scary/shameful : Uzasno. (not sure that's the word tho) (because of the whole situation and his coaches being passive not giving him any clues or keys/advice against sinner in that game after he took the 3rd his whole box and coaching staff just relaxed and talked with each other while he was getting beat by sinner)
Since i'm from serbia but live and grew up in france i understand everything that he says when he swears and talks to his box, i've been watching tennis and novak since my childhood 2007 for novak but my first tennis memories is nadal winning his first roland garros/french open.
And Now we've heard since yesterday that the novak and goran association is over so he maybe really meant that when he said it's over for all of you.

Amazing to see how law of averages get you. Nadal was not himself during 2021 RG semi with so many double faults and unfroced errors with the backhand. So similar to how Djokovic was not himself against Sinner at AO2024. Seems like to beat them at their fav slam, one player has to be slightly off and other has to switch on the God mode. Even Novak described this as one of his top 3 grand slam performances ever.
