When I heard Empire of the Clouds I actually found myself so immersed in the song, that I could visualize each scenario of the song. Not just by the lyrics, but by the different parts and melodies of the song.

Really? I am not a native speaker, I thought it was about a giant vessel (something like a ship) which would travel to the empire of the clouds and crash before it got there. In an era before the greek-roman timeperiod (probably because I heard: an Achilles yet to come). I don't know how I got this visualisation, but when I read the lyrics and looked up the wikipediapage I found out it was about a giant zeppelincrash in France.
Before I read the wikipediapage and after I read the lyrics, I thought it was about a dream of an Empire of the clouds.
Again: I am not a native speaker so the lyrics isn't the first thing I listen to (except when it is in Dutch, which is my native language) but I am glad I did look it up.

I have watched 30 years of interviews with Bruce Dickenson with a host of interviewers, good and bad. I have to say that this was the most organic and easy going "chat" with Bruce that I have every seen. This young man has the potential to be some one of skill and ease of person. Bravo. That being said the new Iron Maiden is everything I wanted it to be!!!! Thank you guys and UP THE IRONS.

I read a review that called this album their best since Seventh son of a Seventh Son. Pretty big statement, and first I didn't fully agree, since I thought most songs were about the same level as Final Frontier, although I did consider that to probably be that good when it was released. But that changed completely with Empire of the Clouds. It's probably the most daring song Iron Maiden has ever made, and truly a masterpiece.

+lasseplatburk i think that The Great Unknow is the only song that fits with Final Frontier, and it is the only one I don´t like. The whole álbum but that song is great, too different from the other albums, maybe too "quite", great songs are really great, those which are not so great are in the same level of any Iron Maiden álbum.

There's only one thing I wanna know about Book of Souls, at the end of "If Eternity Should Fail" there's a creepy spoken bit. Bruce, is that Eddie at the end? This question keeps me up at night.
Album kicks ass as per usual, and UP THE IRONS!!!! \m/

Vicente Gutierrez Could be Eddie's alias :P
As always, Maiden leaves it ambiguous.

When Bruce really starts to get into the album, you could tell that the interviewer is realizing that this is now going way beyond his scope of Maiden knowledge. Like he clearly had no idea who Roy Z is, for example. And not to blame him, I actually think he’s a great interviewer, but I just wish these interviews could be conducted by a devout top level Maiden fan for once. That way it would be more engaging and not just force either Bruce or Steve or any others to go deep down the rabbit hole without any back and forth conversation. Would make it more enjoyable for us true Maiden fans.
And just for the record, I think he did a good job with Bruce overall.

I'd be more interested in that solo album. I dig Iron Maiden, but albums like The Chemical Wedding beat out almost everything Maiden has done (except the Number of the Beast maybe),

I'm pissed. People keep saying Bruce Dickinson was forcing his voice and vocals in The Book of Souls. NO SHIT SHERLOCK! The guy had fucking cancer! So shut your mouths and listen to one of the best Iron Maiden albums ever.

Bruce is still hot. I think he is still as lovely. After Download 2016 i was waiting at the airport fence to see Ed force 1 take off from East Mids. Bruce was Piloting. He taxi'd up from the cargo area then swung the nose round to face us waving him off. That was acknowledgement from MY sexy Rock God!
