This video covers model years 2016-2024 L4 1.5L and takes and H6 AGM.
Model years 2016-2022 with an L4 2.0L take and H6 standard flooded battery.

VERY VERY IMPORTANT and hardly any videos that come up for this repair show this properly (this video doesn't either!)
There is a plastic clip that he is prying up on that holds the plastic box to the battery. If you don't pull up on this you'll either give up or break the damn thing.

Thank you! I just found out today while getting new tires that I have this "Start/Stop" battery and Chevrolet wants for both batteries w/replacement close to $800!!!!! Naw, get a great battery and do it myself -- I hope.

@@travantiblake1750If you haven’t already found it, is in the trunk, driver side. New battery must have a vent port like the one being replaced. Good luck

So pissed. I can't stand that auto stop option on my car and now I have to pay for a high-dollar battery for a feature I don't want.
You can circumvent the auto-stop system. Put the shifter into manual mode and press the + button until it moves into L6 gear on the display. The vehicle will run, drive and shift as normal, but the auto-stop function will not activate.

@@robsteele2427 this is exactly how I drive my 2018 malibu. I bought it thinking the auto stop wouldn't annoy me. It doesn't really annoy me but I dont want my car turning off and on every single stop.

Hi - Thanks for watching! It depends on the year/model of the vehicle. It could be anything from nothing to a no-start condition requiring the computers to be reset. You really need to check with the manufacturer's battery replacement instructions found in the service/repair manual for the vehicle.

We strongly advise against this because the battery may fail prematurely, and the warranty on your car and battery also may be voided.

My car is a vw golf, it’s a stop/start, do you have to do this for Start/Stop Cars
But my Stop/start hasn’t worked since I got the car, I think it’s been permanently removed or deleted

Hi - Thanks for watching! According to BCI, a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze with Start/Stop or a diesel require an AGM battery. All others can use a flooded battery.
