Communication is a problem to the answer (prefaced topic) (Specifically): You've got her number and your hand is on the phone (communication) The weather's turned and all the lines are down (the problem; of the things we do for love (which is the next line)) So, all we have to do is resolve the problem in communicating properly, and then we should have our answer, but it doesn't matter, because it all falls under the topic of "the things we do for love." In other words, it's the journey, and not the destination that matters.
It’s so pleasurable watching you enjoy these songs for the first time. I watch a couple of your videos every night in bed and I go to sleep with a smile on my face. Much love from Australia ❤️
Heard this song a lot just after lunch in Jr. High, during a 25 minute break before afternoon classes started. It was a bitterly cold winter...too cold to go outside; so we would hang out in the gym and listen to tunes on the gym teacher's record player. We could bring in our 45s, and he would play them for us. This song got a lot of play!! Good times. Thanks Jamel, for not only keeping great music alive, but for helping us to keep our great memories alive as well!
I will say to my dying day, the 70’s had the very best music ever. I don’t know if it’s because of having peace not war, more emotion & true heartfelt lyrics, or what, but it’s pure gold. And the R & B is to die for! I listen to 70’s & Disco every time. It’s positive, great rhythms, harmony, upbeat & fun... the second you hear the beginning of the music you know it! Puts you in that happy mood. I love your reactions Jamel. You are right-we were spoiled. My nieces ask “ how you know all these songs?” I say this was my era, my time, in the now back then. 👍💗
If you love these you should watch Godley and Creme "Cry". Same guys from 10cc. Amazing song. Another group that has a similar vibe is Ozark MOuntain Daredevils- Jackie Blue.

Saw Huey in concert a few years back, he said of this tune as the intro, and I quote, if I knew then how many times I would have to sing this song, back then, I would have never wrote it!
I had no idea who sang this! Heard it a million times. Now I see I’ve been remembering the lyrics wrong. Thought it was “looking for the answer in the horizon.” 😂
This is a text book pop song. It has all the elements from the verse-chorus structure to doo-wop backup singing to hand claps, the obligatory guitar solo (not too long), radio-friendly run time, and catchy as hell.

Jamel, you have the sweetest most pure soul and your heart is solid GOLD! I hope everyone in your life realizes how lucky they are to be around you.
You should checkout Rubber Bullets, Dreadlock Holiday, Wallstreet Shuffle, The Stars Didn't Show (a song about losing a music idol), and basically everything else they released. You'd also like the members' solo work, as well as Wax, which featured Graham Gouldman (10cc member) and Andrew Gold.
I wonder if he'll do "Don't Hang Up."
@@chezellis that's a good one too. Very unique. I love the piano in it.
wanna rule the world, clock work creap, johnny dont do it, and on and on
We used to have a bunch of 45 records and this was one of them!!! LOVE this song!!!
Communication is a problem to the answer (prefaced topic)
(Specifically): You've got her number and your hand is on the phone (communication)
The weather's turned and all the lines are down (the problem; of the things we do for love (which is the next line))
So, all we have to do is resolve the problem in communicating properly, and then we should have our answer, but it doesn't matter, because it all falls under the topic of "the things we do for love." In other words, it's the journey, and not the destination that matters.
I had forgotten 10CC did this song...I always just think of Not in Love. thx for sharing Jamel!
So gorgeous .....❣️
I listened to this as a teenager and really had no comprehension of the lyrics. Now I’m 62 and WOW, the things I did for love..
😘
Jamel: "Y'all were spoiled!" You are so right, sir.
It’s so pleasurable watching you enjoy these songs for the first time. I watch a couple of your videos every night in bed and I go to sleep with a smile on my face. Much love from Australia ❤️
Took me back to 7th grade.... sweet innocence
Have a blessed evening
6th grade.
Mate, you gotta do a reaction to Fire and rain by James Taylor.
Yes please!! ♥️
Another one of the songs I loved as a kid....and still do ! Fabulous
Heard this when I was Eleven. Still know all the words.
I can clearly hear a lot of Queen in the song. The background vocals, the guitar solo, ....Great Song
Thanks, Jamel. Try "Part of the Plan" by Dan Fogelberg (w/lyrics)
Sheet Music (1974)
The Original Soundtrack (1975)
How Dare You! (1976)
Deceptive Bends (1977)
Bloody Tourists (1978)
Are all Cracking albums there was a period in the 70's when 10cc were one of the biggest bands on the planet. To be honest I had forgotten just how good they were Thanks Jamal you have reminded me of some wonderful tunes and lyrics
I'm a simple girl ... I see Jamel ... I click !
Me too ❤💚💜💙
I enjoy seeing you enjoying this almost as much as I love this song! You are a true lover of music and it's a beautiful thing!
You must react to Dorothy Moore singing Misty Blue !!!
yes!!!!
I had the privilege of seeing 10CC last year in Nottingham, absolutely fantastic!!
Dreadlock Holiday by them is Equally as good! Thank you for the reaction too!
Love this great, pretty, well-crafted, & most melodic song. This is a beautiful song. 🥰 Jamal, you do so well on your vids. Thanks, 👍 Richard
Mel!! (Huey Lewis and The News) “Power Of Love” 🙌
Huey has a few good ones... I like "The Heart Of Rock n Roll" also.
Plenty of good Huey Lewis and the News - great videos too, but I can only find official videos, are they more likely to be blocked! - Here is an unofficial one for Want a New Drug - ruclips.net/video/KAdRPrXdXTU/видео.html
Saw Huey in concert a few years back, he said of this tune as the intro, and I quote, if I knew then how many times I would have to sing this song, back then, I would have never wrote it!
This song brings back a lot of memories when I was a kid growing up in the 70's. This song was a staple on the radio back then. Great song.
