The Truck Market Finally COLLAPSED. And Buyers are DONE Overpaying!

  • I traveled to several dealerships to show you guys what current inventory and easily identifiable discounts look like. Not only are interest rates super high right now but MSRPs have gotten out of control. Thankfully many of the dealers are finally coming back down to Earth on their pricing below MSRP.
    Thoughts?

It is insane that in mid 2024, you can cross shop everything on this planet online and see the exact price you will pay to the penny... Item, add ons, tax, fee, and shipping within a few moments of clicking on it. Except new vehicles. I am 40 now, and have seen the world change so much from the 80's to today, yet dealerships still operate like they did pre internet days. Fake prices online to lure you in, no different than the fake ads in the newspaper or flyers of old.

I always envision a dealer as a dude buy a new dealership, he is given a Hugh chest, the guy tells him everything you need to know is in this chest.
Opens it up and pulls a dealership lure.
      Grand Opening Sale.
      Tent Sale
      Big Tent Sale
      4th of July Sale
The dealer simply pulls out the next lure to see what he can reel in. The only thing that changes is the dealership lure.
Every dealer has this Dealer Chest.

And twice on Sundays! I mostly make these videos 1-3x a month depending on the towns I’m in to provide updates on what inventory and pricing look like in the areas I happen to be in. It does seem like mark ups are disappearing and below MSRP deals are coming back! But not fast enough. Don’t overpay people!

If all new car and truck prices were suddenly cut in half, the average potential buyer still could not afford them. That is the financial reality. ALL the MSRP's need to be halved. THEN they need rebates and other deals. Until that happens, OEM's and dealers can just pound sand. I, for one, am out of the market. Now how bout another couple of million or so of you folks do the same? They need to be shown the consumer is in charge, not the Dealers, OEMs or the banks. Just sayin.........

A friend of mine looked at a 2022 Ford pickup. It had a lots of dents and scratches and has been on the lot for three months. The dealer wouldn’t come off their high price. They called him back, but mentioned nothing about lowering the price.
I like the Ridgeline, great daily driver with some hauling capacity when needed. Too many people buy huge expensive trucks to haul groceries.

The Ford Ecoboost seems to be doing pretty well, but the Ram's and Toyota's I keep seeing videos about engine issues sometimes within the first 10k miles. They go to these turbo motors for the epa and cafe standards, and end up barely getting any better mpg it's insane.

You emphasize the lack of features on these over-prized trucks/suv's. The automakers are finding every, single, angle to cut features on vehicle's which should have them to maximize their profits! Due to Government caused Inflation, corporate greed, and just plain and simple over-pricing, consumers who are buying these are wasting a HUGE sum of money, for something made to break down faster! Planned obsolescence with these newly built vehicle's is crazy! I'll keep my 2013 GMC Sierra, with a 6.2 V8 which has NO AFM crap in it, runs absolutely perfectly, and is easy to work on if I would ever need to.
