Why didn't you get an electric fireplace.? It would have looked so much more natural, and you would have had the option of just putting the glow on instead of the heat? Your living room is nice , but a bit blah, you need more color in there ☹️.
Maybe because in cold countries(cold winters) electric "fireplaces" are useless, in a power failure for instance which are more frequent in colder and snowy climate.@@suzyq325
I love how you make every meal preparation a delight and your finished product is always beautiful. I give your mother credit for raising such an amazing young woman.
I think that the best scene in the video was your kitchen and the warm glow that came from the lights as you cooked in the dark,; the candlelabras and the view of the lights from the garden really made it special! The first Christmas supply/thrift store was so cozy and inviting, unlike many of the "big box" stores, here, in the USA. I would love to see some of the fresh cut greenery from your backyard placed across the top of your fireplace mantle. That would be awesome!
Elise, thank you so much. I have been watching your videos for several months now. I live here near Amsterdam, where it's also getting cold, but not quite as cold as it is there in Denmark, where I happily spent a couple of months in 2014. My sister, who lives in California, told me about your channel. She thought I would so appreciate you and what you share, as she knows how much I love fashion, style, creativity, home, textiles, beauty and second hand shopping. I grew up in NY. My father was in the fashion/textile business, and while I never went into it (waaaaaaay too crazy, competitive for me, AND I had no self-confidence), I do LOVE beauty in all forms, and have been a creative, second hand shopper and dresser since forever, it feels. I appreciate your creativity, soft voice, calm energy, adaptability, positivity, resourcefulness, compassion, kindness, grateful nature, empathy, courage, sense of style, love of nature, gift for connecting with yourself, others and the earth, your passion and gift for second hand shopping, and red hair. I was a red head, my mother is still a red head (she's 90), and my dad's mom was a redhead. When I see your gorgeous hair, I miss mine, but I also am doing my best to accept the grey and different texture. Wishing you a beautiful, peaceful and gentle season of Light and Love, now and always.
💜💜💜Lovely Elise!!💜💜💜 "I don't like things with faces to decorate with." I thought I was the only one! The vanity in the thrift shop (makeup desk) looks strikingly similar to mine. It's been in my family for 4 generations of women now. I believe the logs in your fireplace are made of ceramic so they won't get burnt and they're meant to hide the flame canister. It looks so pretty lit up! But you didn't look pleased -- if for some reason you don't like it, they make special candle stands that fit inside the fireplace.🔥
I think I saw Magnolia garland in the background as you walked into the last shop. Nothing makes more sophicated fireplace Christmas decor than magnolia garland festooned with natural elements from the garden and iridescent white, gold or silver balls. Maybe they'll be on sale next week.
Elise, how about a large basket for your pillows? Or a trunk of some sort? I love your fireplace!! You gave me an idea on how to use my gas fireplace that isn't working right now!! Your home is so cozy!
I use battery operated candles in my fireplace that I got from Amazon. They look real, and I can use the remote that came with it to turn them off and on. My fireplace is the most beautiful feature in my 1921 home, but I can no longer use it safely to burn wood. I love the glow of the candles, and they were not too expensive either. They are actually made of wax, and the part that glows flickers like a real candle.
Your living room looks so cozy, the fireplace makes such a huge difference. That gold mirror would look lovely over the fireplace, or something similar. I’m sure you will find the right gem :)
Elise, it all looks lovely! In summer, l hang a flower print above the fireplace, and a mirror to reflect candles and light in winter. Also, l keep a big wicker basket around for throw pillows. 🎄
Hello Elise, I am really enjoying your videos. Your house is looking so cozy and warm. I would suggest using your big white candles on the fireplace mantle. I think the garland looks good and I look forward to the next video.
I thought that mirror at the shop was gorgeous! whether you use it for the fireplace or not ! I think (at this time of year especially) lights and mirrors really help with well being...
I’m glad you kept your ethanol fireplace instead of the candles. Your home looks festive and beautiful. My fingers are crossed that you get ten trees on that advent calendar.❤🎄❤️
a nice Christmas tree would be great right next to the fire place inbetween the corner window ...reflect of the light in the large window would be very cosy...maybe next year...-large candle would look good on top of the fire place and some fairy light on the garland
Cute decorations, I love the little birds on the branch!! It's hard to realize that Christmas is almost here already! Excited to see you next time👍👏😊🎄🎉🎀💖
Hey Elise, now that you have a fireplace have you considered building a bookcase around it? It will look amazing. I love the coziness of you place. Great job!
I love the fireplace. You can buy damp catchers for your home. Open widows when your home even for an hour or your beautiful clothes will get mold on them. The food looks so nice. I loved the painting very much dear Elise........Hope you treated yourself to it 😊
The fireplace is so pretty...I have a real fireplace but I got tired of cleaning it out so I had it capped off and have electric logs that put out heat ☺️. If available you might want to get long matchsticks to light it.
The fireplace looks great❤ its always difficult to get decor that does not look fake. Look out for great deals after the season for next year. The tall white candles will look great on the fireplace
So cosy! Glad to be back, I had to take a little break from your channel as a long time member. Everything with your house and the break up coincided with my separation and it was a bit much. But you’ve always been my comfort RUclipsr, such great style! Happy to see your new home
Perhaps you can find some long matches for the fireplace lighting? I used to use them for lighting my propane grill when the "starter" died (before the replacement came in the mail). Everything looks so warm and cosy.❤💚
Oh elise.Elise.. I think you've done a fabulous job decorating.. each home and your personal style is different.. I too tried several things and changed until I found my own happy place!.. I finally did.. and you will too!..🤎🤍🤎
Omg your kitchen looks amazing at night, i love the cozy ambiance ❤❤❤❤😊 thenhuge window and the hole in wall with candle liht and Christmas lights just beautiful!!
Thank you..I’m recovering from a broken hip so not able to decorate..watching you brought me pure joy! As always love your site! Merry Christmas blessings to you!
Really enjoyed this vlogmas video loving your fireplace some greenery from your garden added to your garland and some fairy light would look really cool. Loved the thrifting that lamp with the glass shade was really lovely and a mirror over your fireplace would reflect the light . Your spinach tart looked really yummy cant wait for the next video xxxxxx
So sorry about the condensation on your window. I know you'll figure it out, though, and still have your cozy little reading nook. Your home is really coming together for the holidays. You look lovely, as always. 🙂
At a hardware store, you can buy a kit to add to your windows to stop drafts. Are your windows double pained? You get moisture like that from the steam of cooking or steam from the bathroom, traveling to the windows. Try setting up a small fan by your window ,pointed at the window. Also, definitely winterize your windows😊.
Your home is purrfect and so cozy!! I love your decor for the window from the garden and your fireplace is magical!! What a wonderful home you,,have created!! Can't wait for the next video!! Hugs from Mayfield Kentucky Elise!!❤❤🤶❤
With that beautiful garden and all those fresh greens outside. I'd use a little more pine or greenery in a vase or around the mantle. Maybe along the window sill.
I recently heard that small dishes of salt on windowsills can help reduce the condensation/moisture buildup on windows. I’ve been concerned about your pillows against the windows since you put them there. Since you never mentioned having a problem, I thought your house must be extremely dry. I’m glad you discovered the damp pillows…hopefully in time to prevent mildew and mold. Fingers crossed!
Elise your house looks so cozy and homey. Very beautiful 🥰 thank you for sharing. Hope you win the million this year. You are very close to it. Good wishes for you 🙏 God bless🥰
I enjoyed your decorating! Especially that pretty cut out star. Your home looks so lovely. Even the ‘plastic’ garland looks great. Weaving in a bit of greenery from outside might make it more realistic but it is cute as it is too. I like the idea of candles for a non-working fireplace, but I wouldn’t give up the warm glow of fire that you can create there. It all looks so cozy. Even your lights out in the garden add to the scene. We travel to see family in December and I am in a hotel room so at night your video gives me the cozy vibe that I love.
Your home is coming along beautifully.Fireplace is lovely I’ve got a real log burner and it is so cosy this time of year. I’ve just came back from Copenhagen I went to Tivoli Gardens it was beautiful and Christmassy. Everyone over there was so happy and friendly ❤😊
You’ve made your home so Quaint Elise. And your fireplace is very pretty, simple yet elegant. You need to tell us how you make your spinach pie. So relaxing as you cooked by candle light. Your home is so very warm and inviting. Thank you sweetie for taking us along with you.
I so enjoyed your vlog, and take great delight in sharing your festive holiday shopping! I also use pine from my woods, along with Holly branches to decorate with. Thank you for just being you, you are enough. 🌞🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
I use the candles in the fireplace because my husband can’t stand the smell of burning wood(which I love). But it is a good compromise, I get the pleasure of flickering flames without the offensive odor. I love your cozy home
❤ Elise, I saw someone who has same type of fireplace...she put the ceramic logs more to the front so you don't see the burning holes. Lovely decor Elise! ❤
Everything is looking so beautiful and festive .. Your spinach pie looked scrumptious.. I must try to make one of those .. Love your fireplace as it looks so cozy ❤❤
In Denmark, you definitely have the best and most wonderful Christmas traditions, shops, and markets! I truly hope you will find the best Christmas tree for you and that you will have a very beautiful and blessed Christmas! Alt det bedste fra Rumænien! 🙂 P.S. Very beautiful, calming, and relaxing background music! The interior of your decorated home during this season looks very hyggelig (i.e. cosy, nice, and beautiful, stemming from the Danish and Norwegian term hygge).
@@EliseBuch You're most welcome! Plenty of success with your channel and shop! 😊You also have the best pastries and cakes in Denmark (let us not forget mulled wine or gløgg, best served with cinnamon and lemon after being boiled a bit, naturally). I still fondly remember Drømmekage (it was almost addictively delicious for me, hehe, but I can't be blamed for that I presume). 😆 Have an excellent December and a wonderful Christmas! 🎄🎁❄☃🎅
Elise, just a thought … what if you moved the low white shelves by the long window to the long brick wall instead. Place your sofa against the glass window and side chairs plus the coffee table in front of sofa. Fireplace opposite across the brick wall! It might work out very nicely. The large gold mirror you found at the thrift store earlier would be nice if hung above the fireplace!! The fireplace needed something of the same scale to balance the visual weight. Nothing like trying! The balance of furniture placement can change the vibe, the feeling of the whole entire environment in your home. ❤❤❤
Elise, your decorations look beautiful. The garland looks very nice on the fireplace too! The spinach pie looks yummy! Thank you thank you for sharing!
You are doing such an amazing job decorating your home.. It looks wonderful Good for you.. Love it❤ It can be very expensive the first few years to get all the things you want ... You are doing a great job.. very festive
Get you some of those long matches to light your fireplace with. I flinch every time you do 😂 I love the Christmas set up! And the greenery on your fireplace doesn’t look plasticy
Your living room is beautiful with the lights and fire place glowing. I have never seen this type of fire place before. I assume there is no odor? Knowing you there would be no toxins.
Good seeing you Elsie, the fireplace changes the whole space. You did a good job decorating the mantle.😊 I hope you get a tree of sorts.Maybe a live one you can plant on your property. Anyways see you soon..enjoy !🤗💒🌬❄☃️🌲🌟💚
Hi Elise you are looking so pretty as always! your home is so cozy ready for Christmas, you could go forging for pines and natural items for your mantel. The Christmas shops are so lovely , those teddy bear nutcrackers were adorable! Could you please share the recipe for the spinach pie it looks wonderful ! thoughtful gift from your mom , how fun !! Take care, be safe ! Hugs, Paula
Elise it brings me joy to see your enthusiasm for making your new home festive. You do such a great job in all areas of your life actually. Watching you I think back to my youth and remember being excited about projects and purchases for the Christmas holiday. I also enjoy seeing how Denmark differs from the USA. Your spinach pie looked great so perhaps post the recipe so we can all enjoy?
Just a hint Elise, if you put pebbles or marbles in the bottom of the vase when you put heavy things in it will help it not fall over and remember to spray the leaves and put water in the bottom 😍🥰
Every thing in your cozy home looks lovely, I especially loved the kitchen scene and when you were cooking, any chance you can share the recipe of that quiche with us? It absolutely looked delicious. Looking forward to more of your videos, they are truly inspiring ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Love the natural evergreen branches you put in the vase with the birds...I myself only decorate with natural branches, since I have plenty of evergreens on the property. Wish I could send you some! Did you know that you can burn Crisco instead of whatever that liquid solution is in your fireplace? If you are burning something that does not ventilate, be sure its not toxic to your air. You did well with making your living space look lovely! I like looking out your kitchen window at night with the outside lights.🕯
I broke my arm two weeks ago and now caught Covid on top- I appreciate your effort to get me through this, dear Elise.❤️
Hope you feel better soon🙏
I'm wishing you wellness.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.🥰
So sorry. What a bummer. Take care of yourself and feel better soon.
Speedy recovery and Merry Christmas 🎄
Elise I think you should get that large mirror you saw and hang it above your fireplace. I think it would make it look so grand and beautiful!
Why didn't you get an electric fireplace.? It would have looked so much more natural, and you would have had the option of just putting the glow on instead of the heat? Your living room is nice , but a bit blah, you need more color in there ☹️.
I am looking, but the right one hasn't showed up yet. 🥰
I came to say the same thing. ❤

aww thank you so so much for such a lovely kind and warm comment 🥰I'm really glad you enjoy my videos! Merry Christmas to you near Amsterdam.
All the beautiful scarves you have, maybe a couple of your most Christmas ones, could be used as bows for fireplace 😊
Your home is shaping up beautifuly. ❤️ The fireplace so cozy. That spinach pie looks delicious.
Yes, I will have to make that pie!
it was good 🥰thanks!
Your house at night looks so warm and cozy.☺️ I absolutely love how you decorate!!

Yes, but hard to find the perfect one I think. I will keep looking. 🥰
A mirror over the fireplace and candles on your mantle would be gorgeous. Reflection from the candles in the mirror.💟
Elisa, your home looks so beautiful, thank you for sharing so much with us. You are a beautiful, intelligent and strong woman!
That looks wonderful. Getting the fireplace was a great idea, it adds so much to your living space.

Decorations look beautiful..I'm liking the window seat without all of those pillows.😊
Hi Elise: You can also put a bundle of twinkling Fairylights in the Fireplace instead of the burners for a cozy but safe atmosphere ✨️
I thought that mirror at the shop was gorgeous! whether you use it for the fireplace or not ! I think (at this time of year especially) lights and mirrors really help with well being...
Hi Elise your home looks beautiful, you’ve made it your own sending love uk Ann ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
OMG!! Love the way that the fireplace looks. Boy, it's a beautiful fire with all 3 cups lit. The fireplace looks so festive,....& so cozy!🎄🧑🎄
Stay well. Be happy. Enjoy life and this wonderful season celebrating the birth of Christ.

I loved the deer cushion on the sofa in the thrift shop.Would look wonderful on your window seat for festive season.Great video.
The garland looks fine!
Suggestion, add some small clipped pine branches into your plastic fireplace garland, it brings a bit of real to it. Everything looks so pretty

Great job!
She already had bookcases below her window
No, strange enought I hate bookshelves and have always found them messy 🥰hehe It's a weird side of me.
Put the pillows on your couch and add a few to chairs and a basket beside your fireplace. Love your tree that you get to use for garland. So jealous.
The fireplace looks nice. The oversized mirror you saw at the thrift store would look amazing on the fireplace. The lights look cozy.

Thank you for sharing. The Christmas 🎄 decorations look so wonderful.

Elise your video's are never wrong. I enjoy every one of them. You are a joy. Thank you for your videos!
Thank you so much 🥰
Every thing in your cozy home looks lovely, I especially loved the kitchen scene and when you were cooking, any chance you can share the recipe of that quiche with us? It absolutely looked delicious. Looking forward to more of your videos, they are truly inspiring ♥️♥️♥️♥️
really like the brick wall and fireplace nice...
Conxita ^:^
Love the natural evergreen branches you put in the vase with the birds...I myself only decorate with natural branches, since I have plenty of evergreens on the property. Wish I could send you some! Did you know that you can burn Crisco instead of whatever that liquid solution is in your fireplace? If you are burning something that does not ventilate, be sure its not toxic to your air. You did well with making your living space look lovely! I like looking out your kitchen window at night with the outside lights.🕯
I have been the candle in the fire place for yrs. I put greens on bottom and have a mirror propt up un back very beautiful at night
