Tip for quick decorating. Put cuphooks where you want to hang decorations routinely. First time takes an extra minute but seconds thereafter. No making of multiple holes. Works for birthday banners and other seasonal things. White hooks are hard to find on a white ceiling (I have lighted garlands crossing my living room), or they can be painted with the wall.
I would like you to do a tutorial of making decorations. ❤❤❤ I miss the baking videos, the craft videos. I really love love love the thrift with me videos that you do. ❤❤❤
I so admire your ability and determination to do your tree all by yourself as I know your Dad or a friend would have gladly helped. And your youthful joy dancing around the tree warmed my heart. You have created a lovely life for yourself and should be very proud and feel very accomplished as you should. That blue velvet dress fit you perfectly!!! Thank you for showing the rest of the world Denmark as most of us will never have the opportunity to go. Blessings from Dallas, TX USA.
Elise I am 70 and like you I started out with few Christmas tree ornaments. Each year without realizing it I would add an ornament here and there. Now my tree is a tree of so many wonderful years of memory that are so special to me. Your tree will tell you a story of memories too. God bless. Your tree is beautiful and I love how you bring so much love and life to everything you create.
There is a lot to being stubborn and determined. It gets you through and that is the main thing. Independence is the key to a happy life I think. You can look after yourself and that is everything.
I am glad that you didn't do a video every day in December like you were thinking about doing. It is so much more fun to discover when one just pops up randomly. So never worry about not doing enough. And as far as not having much to decorate a tree. I had nothing to decorate my very first Christmas tree, so I took a sheet of white typing paper and cut out a ton of tiny little snow men, used bits of yarn tied around their necks for scarves and glued tiny little twigs collected from the park for arms. I still think about that little tree often and people still mention it years and years latter, decades actually. Trust me, you are going to look back on this tree fondly. As time passes you will long for these days. :) As always, gave you a thumbs up.
I remember my first tree, I had been married a only few months. We didn't have much money. It was about 4' tall and we strung popcorn for decoration and put Christmas cards that people sent us on the tree. That was all. But to us, it was the most beautiful tree ever!
Elise, I have been subscribed to your you tube channel since the dreadlock days! Just went in and joined as a member as well. Your videos are a lifeline for me. I have watched each one and they bring such peace! When I am depressed you bring a smile to my face and love to my heart!
I love watching you decorate your home for Christmas. Please show us how to make all of your pretty paper ornaments. Thanks for bringing us along for your holiday shopping. It looks so magical with all of the twinkle lights. 🎅🏻
Thank you for being yourself, that’s what we want most. You are enough. Your style, clothes, and home are beautiful treasures for all of us to adore. I pray that your holidays are restful, and full of Christmas Cheer!🌹🌲🌹🌲🌹🌲🌹🌲🌹🌲🌞
Your home looks so cosy ,very Christmassy.Thank you for showing us your town it’s beautiful,I loved how they decorated around the windows with lights much lv Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
I’d love to see a video of you crafting the traditional Danish ornaments. I am an American with very strong Danish heritage through both my parents. I grew up in Wisconsin where many from the Scandinavian countries settled, and am now realizing (since I live a different part of America now), that there actually is quite a bite of influence from the settlers where I lived. I am now on a quest to learn more about my Danish heritage and that includes crafts. Thank you for your wonderful and joyful videos, Elise! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas in your beautiful new home ❤
Everything is so pretty. The town was amazing! I love the simplicity of your decor. Some overdo and then nothing stands out. I am happy for you that it's not last year.❤ You have accomplished so much!
Congrats again on what you have achieved this year. The last collection is stunning, specially that velvet dress❤❤❤ Enjoy your Christmas time with your family and the tree looks stunning. Who needs a man to help get a tree to your house....nope not us😂😂😂
Here in Canada, our tree holders are much bigger . They hold about 2 gallons of water. A Christmas tree can soak up 4 gallons of water a day. Be sure you top up your little can every 2 hours at least. If a tree dries out ,sometimes just the heat of lights can ignite them. 😊 Love your first Christmas tree in your new home❤❤
Ya le he dicho más de una vez, que todo lo que usted toca, lo convierte en algo bonito, útil y muy agradable a la vista. SU ARBOL LUCE PRECIOSO!!! GRACIAS AMIGA... FELICES DÍAS A PESAR DE LAS MASACRES QUE HAY POR EL MUNDO ^:^ Conxita
Loved your tree, the ornaments, all the decorations and for showing us your beautiful lighted town. Loved all you lovely vintage clothing, thank you for loving them so much by passing them on to other generation. Merry Christmas Elise! God Bless you all, from America. Dawn B
I find your videos are so much more entertaining and interesting when you do things on your own and with little money; it all seems so much more relatable… I’m always pulling for you!!
All the holiday feels! Your town is beautiful--the lights are amazing. And you are amazing, too, Elise. Cool Yule to you--and to all of us who love watching your content!🏠🏠🏠🏠🥂🥂🍾🍾🎄🎄💖💖
Hey girl!! Way to go on getting your first Christmas tree & by yourself!! Shout out to Daisy for hauling it lol I love a real tree!! Smells so good! ❤💚❤️💚
I just love your Christmas tree and the ornaments you made are gorgeous! ( coming from a retired Designer, specializing In Christmas! ) Merry Christmas, Elise! 🎄♥️🎄
Thank you for giving us such beautiful videos. May you have a blessed Christmas and may 2024 bring you all the best life has to offer. Much love to you.
Reminds me of the times as a single mom when I would go out and bring home the tree on my own. I think I'll have a live one next year. Yours is pretty.
Threaded popcorn makes great garlands on trees and you can put it out for the birds later. I also love the dried orange slivers and homemade gingerbread man on trees. Have a lovely break with your famiky.
I like how you make do with what you have and can do…..and it is all in good taste!!! Please share how you made the little decorations. They are beautiful
Don’t forget to tighten the screws holding the trunk of the tree in a few days. The trunk will shrink and you don’t want the tree to fall over. Trust me I speak from experience.
Thanks for this information, as someone who's never had a real tree it's something I wouldn't know and it's good to have the knowledge just in case someday I do get one.
So many years of living alone, I still always insisted on getting a live tree. Even if it was a tiny one. It took me years to build up a collection of tree decorations. A lot of them thrifted. At first it bothered me that it just wasn’t in my budget to be able to fill a tree with ornaments. Then all of a sudden I blinked and have too many to even fill a full sized tree. It’s funny how that happened. There’s something special about searching year after year for the perfect ornaments. I especially like the fact that they are used. I imagine them filled with energy of others at Christmas times past, and enjoy being able to keep them going. The tree looks beautiful. And I LOVE this vintage drop!! Ps. I too never wrapped my tree. Threw it in the back of my jeep. A bachelorette’s gatta do what a bachelorettes gatta do.
Martha Stewart has a hack for putting lights on the tree. You go up and down vertically, instead of horizontally all the way around. Much easier to take it off when Christmas is over. Have a Merry Christmas Elise & all your followers!
Please show us how you make those Christmas decorations!! I love your tree, I hope to get one next year since I just had a baby so I do not have much time to worry about that this year! Thanks for sharing 💚 One love
A one year old child looking at Christmas lights and decorations for the first time is wonderful. Newborns are exhausting. Relax now and enjoy next year's excitement.
Your Christmas tree and all of your decorations are so beautiful! You've added just the right amount of lights and "sparkle"!! I love the look of a Christmas tree that is not overloaded with ornaments---yours is perfection! Merry Christmas, Elise!
Thank you Elise 👍....your home-made Xmas decorations are beautiful 😍. Little tip....when putting your Xmas tree 🎄 lights on ...switch them on first ...then you'll know they are working and can see where you place them whilst alight 👍🎅. Looking very festive 🎄🎅👍.
Elise, you are such a beautiful young lady and I so much enjoy your videos, seeing your home and your shop. I would love to see a video on making your handmade large star and the braided hearts and other ornaments. Thank you. Jan Washington state US ❤
What a wonderful, festive video! Your tree is beautiful, as are all the decorations you made. I would very much like to know how to make those lovely hearts! My goodness, Elise, is there anything you can't do?? You are truly a woman who has no fear in doing new things. You have such an eye for beauty and detail! Your home is gorgeous.....your garden is mystical and beautiful, your wardrobe is chic and so feminine. You are an inspiration to me, and I thank you for taking me a long on your trip into town. I adore the area you live in, and the Christmas lights and decorations of the village at night lit up my heart with the spirit of the Season. I am in a wheelchair and rarely leave my home, so the videos you post during the Christmas Season always remind me of when I was able to go see the lights of Christmas in the neighborhoods on my own. Thank you so much for bringing those memories back to me. I have tears in my eyes now....but they are good tears...happy tears. God Bless you, Elise!! ♥️🌲🌲
thank you so much for sharing your Christmas home with me(us) I managed to hang a gold tinsel garland with a few hand selected ornaments from thrift stores 1st time in many years. Feeling much lighter spirited after even a small decoration thank you...
