Thank you so much for producing a video that I can share with my elementary school students! We have just finished a book about Papua New Guinea and are exploring primary and secondary sources, as well as the concept of author's perspective. Thanks for being part of our study!
For me it's a big dream to vista Papua New-Guinea, but it is such a long and expensive trip from Germany... you Australiens should be the luckiest persons on the planet. ;) just some miles away from your home there are so much interesting and different cultures :) thanks for uploading :)
Thanks Steve and Manjula for visiting my country Papua New Guinea (PNG). Those who say it's not safe well every country probably has some parts if it that are not safe to visit and it is just the same here in PNG. But for the remote areas such as the beatiful Islands that you have visited I would guarantee and say it is very safe to visit the locals are very friendly and welcoming and I encourage more tourist/sailors to come and experience the diverse cultures we have here. Once again thank you to you both really enjoyed watching thsi video and proud to call this beautiful place my home.
Hi Mylee, Yes, you should be proud of your country. It is awesome. You are right, the people we met at the outer islands were super friendly and welcoming. Every country has problems, but you can also find wonderful people all over the world. Thanks for watching our video. Steve
great. i am so glad someone like you have it instead of it being a dock dolllie in san francisco. i am so jealous:) i would love to be able to travel as you are. i hope to get away when i retire in three years... it so good you are able while still young. thanks. jim
Papua New Guinea is a country full of exotic wanders colorful and beautiful islands all around,,,, Tourist are most welcome to have or spend your vacation and enjoy the Melanesian fun.. Be kind and make friends to people nothing won't happened unless you keep in yourself fear will drive you away... I'm from PNG and i was so happy that you visit my country and comment on it..... Welcome again.. God bless your Journey via Philippines..
Awesome You Guys gave them some old sails. Old sails are basically worthless to most sailors in the USA/Australia but here in PNG priceless. I am sure they make life much easier for the Islanders. Awesome.
How wonderful. I have for some time longed to go to Papau New Guinea but have yet to. You views of the surrounding ocean and the sweet people entices me. Please compile more shooting into another presentation of these gorgeous coastlines and people.
we are not loosing any thing only Jah talujahli great of God of Israel knows us and we are happy with what we have ..The world may see us different and lonely place but we never doubt of who we are..we are decedent of house of Israel...we are so blessed nothing to loose..
hey thanks for the awsome video of my beloved home! I was born and raised in "The Land of The Unexpected" as they call it..A proud Papua New Guinean till the day I die..truely a unique paradise..
Hey Guys, Thanks for sharing this. Pam Island and Johnston Atolls are in Manus Province. My dad once taught on Pam island. I come from Pere Village, made famous by the american anthropologist, Dr Margaret Mead. Johnston Atolls is a favourite for everyone, specially when we have visitors, we take them there. Thanks once again.May the Lord Bless You in your travels.
Hi Steve Just came across this video and am so happy to see you guys visit our lovely islands of Pam and Johnson. I have visited both islands as I am from Manus and come from Baluan -the big volcanic island that is closer to Pam. I know some of the people on the footage in both Pam and Johnson. I used to live with my grandma in Johnson many years ago. Thanks for sharing the video.
Guy's, I have been watching sailing videos for years. Yours is by far the best I have found! I subscribed and will tell all who will listen! Keep it up, Gerald
Thank you for visiting Papua New Guinea and making this video I enjoy watching hope this video will also help attract other tourist to visit Papua New Guinea.
I'm Canadian but my best friend is from Papua New Guinea, we're planning on visiting her home in Hagen? This summer. I'm soo excited, I've never been to Papua New Guinea before and it looks beautiful.
I read about this place on my Disneys world of knowledge encyclopedia when i was in high school and found this place interesting..hope to visit someday coz this is one of my target destination:)
Thank you for the video, really enjoyed it. Being away from my home country and seeing videos like this makes me miss Papua New Guinea. You've done such a wonderful job and it's so good to see that you enjoyed your trip. People say it's dangerous and I guess it is BUT not everywhere, people just hear something about it and think that's how it is there. I'm truly happy you got to see the beauty of PNG and I hope you have many more beautiful trips around the world. :)
You don't understand. Your country is beautiful and you need to keep it dangerous or you are going to be destroyed by western culture. They will destroy all your beautiful traditions and you natural way of life. If you don't scare away rich tourists like these you will end up getting invaded. You should have cooked and roasted these two tourists and eat them, and i mean it.
I'm a tour guide in Rio de Janeiro, and today I had my first client ever from Papua New Guinea (despite of having conducted more than 1,600 private tours). I was curious to watch a video about the country. Thanks for sharing this off the beaten path images.
I'm an ESL teacher in Korea and I am planning on going to this country in a year...and maybe staying and teaching if they have any schools that accept Americans (I would work there for just room and board on a heartbeat)
Yes indeed. This is the same boat. It was sailed from Australia to Hawaii and then on to California where we became the owners in 2007. Now she is parked back in Darwin Australia. She's a great boat. Cheers, Steve
Hi Claire. My first answer is DO IT!! It is so worth the hassles to explore and travel to remote areas off the beaten path. Use Google to search for info and blogs from others who have gone there. Most important, once you get there everything will work out for you in terms of finding places to stay, eat, and get around. The local people are always ready to help and be friendly. Thanks for watching out video. Good luck and go for it!
One place IV always wanted to go and spend time with locals...I would take nothing of the modern world exept gifts for children and basic survival gear...more importantly I'd go armed with compassion, love and respect for their humanity and unquenchable appetite for exploring and learning...
Thats awesome! I enjoy watching this video. It is amazing! I am from PNG but now in USA. Thats one part, but more parts are yet to be discover. Even myself too, never been to other parts of Papua New Guinea yet!.
Greetings, Yes they are into soccer, (football). In the bigger towns they have electricity, cellphones, tv, slow internet etc..., but in the small outer islands they often do not have regular electricity, so no tv, or computers. Even so , they often have cellphones. It is very interesting to see the cross roads of the modern and old world. Cheers
Hi Kraekern, The opening song is called Creepin'. It is by The Crusaders & Eric Clapton on an album called Rural Renewal. Thanks for watching our video.
Hello Steve I would like to use your video to make a presentation for academic purposes in school and family. Would I get your permission to use this video. Thank you and God bless you
@CommunityScabies Greetings, Thank you for your comment. We had a really amazing time in Papua New Guinea. Actually we have not brought the turtle shells back to the US yet. They are still on our boat. Many islanders in the North and South Pacific still eat turtles, so it is not unusual to see the shells around. Kind regards, Steve
@bjoerndinklage Hi Bjoern, Thanks for watching our video and leaving a comment. Pam island is just south of Manus Island it is next to Lou Island. I just found it on Google Earth. See if that works for you. If not let me know. The people there are very friendly and welcome visitors.
Yes Png all Melanesian islanders are drifted out of horn of Africa, a promise land, a garden of eden, kingdom of judah, the land of ethiopia is household of all lost tribe of israel.we as melanesians know we are the lost tribe of israel after the order of tower of babel when all whole entire continent shifted along with all people around the globe according to jah talujahli great god's purpose. until in the latter day time of refreshing and restoration will come and all inhabitants will be restored back to their original promise land. So stop confusing and whining about my Melanesian people. Just believe that we are indeed the lost tribe of the house of isreal.Onelove Melanesians keep your heads up..
