    Charles Daellanbach is most recorded tuba player of all time and certainly one of the finest tuba players in the world. Charles has anchored the bass line of the Canadian Brass since the group was formed in 1970. As a trumpet player myself I have to say "Charles we could not do it without You!" You are an outstanding influence and inspiration to all Brass Players across the world!

      His real family name should be Tellenbach but his Swiss origin father must have changed it in the same fashion into a dialectic Bernese name same as the great Swiss Barber and Original Kari Dällebach (Daellenbach) who's barber shop in Bern was widely known for not only haircuts but his thoughts and jokes, which were immortalized in a book and a movie making him part of our culture Bernese same as Bernese chansonier's Mani Matter 's song about him using a George Brassens melody, (see on YT;Dällebach Kari - Tragic life of a Bern legend

Bernese names such as Von Allmen, Von Grüningen, Von Alp, Von Erlach, Von Wattenwyl are based on places and villages also are usually small aristocracy same goes for htre name Bangerter which was from the hamlet Bangerten close to the city of Lyss and existed since the first church archives from which the Mormons in Salt Lake city seem to be the best informed, my oldest ancestor in archives is a Benedict Bangerter von Lyss and since many Bangerters chose Mormon faith there are today more Bangerters in USA then in Switzerland also famous was the writer and journalist Nick Auf der Maur in Montreal also father from Melisssa Auf der Maur, based on Nick's writings they are direct descendants from the Patron Saint of Switzerland Saint Nicolas von der Flüh. First of all.....this is wonderful... I love listening to it. But, since I first saw this video this summer, I've wondered about the horn in the suitcase at 1:40. It really doesn't look like a euphonium. I'm a high brass person myself but the tuba player in my trad jazz group is in his 80s. He plays a 3/4 size. In my mind, I've been calling it a pocket tuba (because of the unique wrap). Can somebody educate me on this horn?

    • @markcain9415
      @markcain9415 Год назад
