agree. I'm 36. I grew up in the 90s. Even though I'm very nostalgic I really think that back then at least in middle Europe almost everything was better than nowadays. Movies and music were clearly much better. No smartphones no stupid social media, means less stress. There was more much more creativity I think but overall I agree the world has worsened...I would wish that every 2nd day it would be like in the 90s or end of 80s without internet. In middle Europe I relaly think that after the fall of Berlin wall there was a really special spirit which lasted over many years. And in 2001 this spirit crashed with the crash of the twin towers....the 00s and 10s and now the 20s are a shadow of the 90s or 80s in my opinion. And I really have the feeling that it gets worse....
The days of going to buy tickets for raves from the local record shops, and jumping on a bus full of other happy clubbers and going all around the country - no agro, just a togetherness. God I miss it

I remember finding essential selection around 93 - 94, when I was 15, I had no clue what much of it was, but taped it, wrote down stuff I liked, before I knew it it was 95 and I was teaching myself how to mix on all the vinyls I'd bought, by 96 I was DJing, making mix tapes... My love affair with music - in all its forms - has never diminished and I have very fond memories of the weekend having "landed" via Pete's show. Maybe a stepping stone to some that's all I'm saying 😜

I grew up on dance and 'trance' from the late 90s onwards, and I believed that the Matt Darey mix of this track was the absolute best track ever. 15years later, I've developed a huge lust for acid house and well designed techno/breaks tracks. Now I have realised that this mix is far far better.

I grew up on dance and 'trance' from the late 90s onwards, and I believed that the Matt Darey mix of this track was the absolute best track ever. 15years later, I've developed a huge lust for acid house and well designed techno/breaks tracks. Now I have realised that this mix is far far better.

This track is on one my fave ever essential mixes. Paul Oakenfold at Que Club 95. Went to plenty of raves in my time but would've loved to have been there that night. Atmos sounded lush 😍

I saw him in a small club in a hotel in Aberdeen. He jumped off the decks and started bouncing with us on the dance floor.
One of the only dance tracks that can bring a tear to my eye.

Man I wish I could go back. Simpler times. So many things I do differently given another chance.
I would spend my weekends raving rather than hanging around in my parents' house. So dumb, but I lived on the countryside, was onyl 16, 17, had neither money nor car. And still, if I had known that true rave ceased to be played in clubs and gave way to Guetta & Co, i would have moved heaven and hell to to to raves.
