Blackpool 1988 dancing on the podium. Loved this tune! Here I am now aged 63 listening to it again and feeling just the same. In my minds eye I can still see the lasers flashing to the beat forming spiders web designs. Everyone danced their hearts out. The atmosphere was electric One of my all time favourites.
Man oh man what a tune haven't heard this in years... I'm 54 years old, I probably heard this the last time I was in club km in Benidorm in 2001. Saddened to hear of Mory Kanté's passing. RIP... Yeke Yeke...
I was on the Space Ibiza Terrace one Sunday evening in 2002. Carl Cox was on the decks and unusually he was playing pretty flat that night. Most of the crowd were moving around listlessly, wanting to have a good time but not able to find that euphoric groove. The DJ effortlessly mixed in the familiar baseline of Yeke Yeke. At first there were some groans as the track was quite old and many in the audience wanted to hear new music. But then the sound of the harp-like Cora came in followed by the iconic vocals and everyone started cheering. Carl Cox let the song play right to the end by which time the whole club was moving and dancing as one in perfect unity. I will never forget that moment for as long as I live. RIP More Kanté.
I've never heard this remix till today. The drop and build up halfway is sent from the heavens and sent me to somewhere I haven't been for a while. Just beautiful.
I was at a rave back in 1994 in Los Angeles. Back then they were smaller parties that were usually in an illegal warehouse. I was in one of the rooms and let's just say I was drinking water. The DJ played this and the crowd went wild! Hearing this takes me right back to those days. Oh how I miss them terribly! ❤❤❤❤❤
similar, at a rave at folken in norway and the local dj spun this up towards the end of the party.. it could easily be a 'where were you the first time you heard yeke yeke hardfloor remix ?' :)
Manumission, KU, Ibiza (circa 1995). Lost all my friends, walked into room two to hear this with the sun coming up. I remember the feeling more than the picture now.

The days when I left work Friday night, got home Sunday morning......yeah, OK early afternoon lol. This tune, on first hearing it, instantly took me to a "higher state" and that's sober! There is more about the Roland TB-303 on Wikipedia. You can find also a Documentary about it here on RUclips. Hardfloor (who used two TB-303 in this remix) is known for using one or multiple TB-303 masterfully in their remixes and own original productions, as well as in their live performances. Though the TB-303 has been used by many artists since its initial release, DJ Pierre of Phuture is widely recognized to be the first who was recorded twisting the knobs of a TB-303 while it was playing a sequence, thus inventing the "acid" sound.
