I still have my red crash car, near mint condition with all parts. Surprisingly in decent shape for as much as I played with it. I had the motorcycle too but lost it in a move a long time ago in an attic far far away lol. I have slick, the original crash dummy action figure, but he doesn't hold together like he used to. Great video 😁 brings back great memories!
@@downfromtheattic yeah it's crazy how well they have held up. I remember my mom saying she thought it would only last about 6 months to a year then break apart but nope! Over 20 years later still working and in great shape. It's a shame they don't make toys with this type of quality anymore.
Absolutely loved these toys! Luckily I wasn't too rough with them when I was younger, and I as I got older I stashed them away with the rest of my toys. I'll have to dig them out and let my son enjoy them, seeing as how they are meant to be played with. I'm more favorable towards the first series of figures and vehicles, and was bummed that later figures lost the button exploding feature, but that didn't stop me from buying them :)
I had the yellow taxi when I was 7- I completely forgot about it until I stumbled across your video. Great video, and thanks for jogging my memory! Get to crashing- fantastic.
I just bought a big bunch of these toys including crash centre and like 7 vehicles. These are at the top of the list of hard to find classic toys that still function and are in a ok state because well there made for crashing so heavily played is common. Please treasure yours if you have some of them there worth more then motu. And there awesome would be a shame if people forgot about this .
I had no idea that the collectibility of them had rocketed up so quickly! I've still held onto mine, still got them, it seems the most difficult things to find are figures in working state still. they're not easy to repair if the springs inside the bodies no longer hold the limbs. Hope you're enjoying them too! The cars are pretty hardy, and can be fixed quite easily
This is awesome... Really took me down memory lane :) my friend had alot of these and we would spend hours smashing into things :) cant believe how long ago this was now.... Brilliant toy line :) don't make them like they use to :) subscribed.. Keep up the good work buddy
Still have the red car, motorcycle and crash test center in storage haven't been played with since the early 90s I remember both being very fun, never seen the skid loader before. Might have had the chair too, looks familiar. Probably rare to see boxes for these still, unfortunately my brother and I tossed them for toys like this. Still kicking myself for throwing out my forbidden bridge and grape escape boxes
There was a crash test dummy baby that came with a stroller. Remember that? That one cracked me up back in the day. A baby in a crash test dummy stroller. Most of these toys never survived. The dummy's I had kept breaking and the arms or heads wouldn't stay on. I had a car and it broke pretty quickly and wouldn't stay toghther. My son wishes he had cool stuff like this. We had some cool toys back in the 80's and 90's. I feel bad for kids these days.
No I don't remember the crash test baby! Wow, that's incredibly dark! I know what you mean about the pegs on the figures, they are fragile and I have had breakages over the years. Been fortunate in a few cases where I've been able to find the broken peg and glue it. Have seen people replace the pegs with 3D printed ones too. But I totally agree, the 80s and 90s were the greatest for toys and games
Oh man, great overview. I had the crash center the taxi, plane and bulls truck. Which would pop up and send into a barrel role. My dad made me get rid of them for a spring clean . Great toy line
I had the VHS tape for a very long time, it's long since gone. There was a number of adverts on the tv at the time with the same cgi animation using the dummies to promote seatbelt safety. Such a 90s way of doing things, you gotta love it
@@downfromtheattic Too bad the series was cancelled before it got off the ground, I can imagine kids in the 90s, even kids in modern times, would enjoy watching the dummies crash fall apart. Cause as the theme song says: The best man for the job is a dummy.
@@downfromtheattic As a kid I always thought that the show got picked up for a series, turns out I was just watching the same VHS. At 27 none of my friends had heard of these toys or the show. Actually I have 2 crash cars and they're both exact same but they're not complete but the seatbelts are still nice and rubbery I don't get why yours have almost perished.
I'd love them to but I think ironically a lot of toy safety laws have pretty much stopped any chance of that happening. Toys with spring loaded bits are pretty much non existent now and the amount of small parts too. It's a shame, but glad I had them when I did :)
Some from childhood but my brother surprised me on my 21st birthday with a huge box of them, no clue how much he paid but as a student at the time, I'm guessing cheap :D Still happy to own them, they're fantastic toys

The video that started it all.
The crash dummies were introduced in 1991 not 1990 but lasted until 1994 1995.
Which crash dummy car/plane is your favorite.
My favourite is probably the jackknife racer (the F1 car), bits go flying in all directions with that one, it's impressive
