My Concerns With The Nintendo Switch 2

- The Nintendo Switch is a massive success and it is still doing doing pretty well currently. But as the system now officially passes the 6 year mark, many people are now starting to talk about the Nintendo Switch's successor, a Nintendo Switch 2 one might say. While I myself am super excited and interested in seeing what Nintendo will do next, I do have some worries and concerns about the next generation Nintendo.

I am worried that with the slow pace Nintendo has released classic content on the switch, with a new system we could see that library restart. I am also hoping for complete backwards compatibility with the switch.
There is no way they reset the library
NSO is extremely easy to port and they wouldn’t switch off ARM because they literally do not have the choice to switch off ARM so don’t worry it will be there it costs them nothing and takes no labor

Knowing how Nintendo is right now, I hardly doubt it that they will do a completely different system, my bets are:
1-Hardware Updates: CPU, GPU, Joy-Cons (actually fixing them and a tad bigger)
2- Goal posts: 1080p 30fps PCs low-medium graphics settings for 3rd parties and 1080p 60fps medium graphics settings for 1st party
3-Its going to be more like a "New 3DS" rather than a completely new console, a "Super Nintendo Switch" if you like
4- Features: Most likely either DLSS2.0 or 3.0 depending on Nvidia... 2.0 it is, actually functioning BT 5.0, still an OLED display or mini-LED (for costs)
5- SKUS: Super Nintendo Switch (the regular a tad bigger version) and a Super Nintendo Switch Lite (same as the current one but with the newer hardware and features)
6- Desing: Mostly identical but again, the regular a tad bigger, all previous and current accesories are going to work just fine (maybe the old joy-cons will need a bracket so that they continue to work unless the differences in size is not that different), the display is going to have even less borders, the battery is improved (in general, compared to the OLED version)
Overall: I think Nintendo will settle with the minimum effort, but i think that a Switch "pro" Switch X, Super Nintendo Switch.... whatever you wanna call it.
Its going to be basically the same as the current one but with vastly improved hardware, and similar to the case of the "New" 3DS, Nintendo will slowly cycle out old versions in favor of the new ones in the span of 2-3 years, similar to PS5 and Series, everyone will have switched by that point and actual new gen games (for the switch) will start to roll out.
My only hopes is that at least top 10 1st party titles will get a software update to work with the new SKU... but its Nintendo so my hopes are very low, either way, if they don't announce the new system this E3, im just going for the OLED since i have the OG 2017 switch... the battery is just DOG
Nintendo will skip E3, please wait til next year, we are definitely getting something then

I'm bit concerned for the next hardware because if you've been with Nintendo for a long time you never know what to expect of them. I guess you can expect one thing from them: expect the unexpecting. It is both exciting and terrifying. They could go for a hardware than is in line with the current switch, just more powerful. They could try to make a regular home console or they could make a console with a dumb gimmick that nobody will buy. My best guess is that they will do something similar to the DS and 3DS. They will add a gimmick to the switch, it will sell but not as well as their previous console
The Switch is not a HOME console, it's a Personal Console. That's was turned its success to a MAJOR success.
I mean if you have a Switch it's probably YOUR switch, if someone else in the household wants to play the Switch they will likely get their own.
My friends whole unit of 4 each have their own console(s). There is an S there because his parents who wanted to start a second Animal Crossing Island had to buy second consoles to do that. Between the 4 of them they have bought 7 Switches.
I think the success in the next console is in it being a Personal system and I can't see them just making a more powerful Switch.
I don't think they'll make the same mistake as naming it too similar to the Switch like they did from Wii to Wii U, without making it REALLY clear that it's a different system but they won't use 2. If they keep the Switch name I think it'd be something like SUPER Switch but even then it might not be clear enough.
I think they will sell a dock that is the new console and use the switch as a controller for their new console the switch is the new 3ds they need something not portable so they can do VR with metroid prime like originally concepted with the wii vr system mockups VR is terrible for battery life and will require docked play mark my words

Next Switch needs to be 12GB GDDR6 with an underclocked ORIN SoC to out out around 4TF docked and 2.5 TF handheld for 1080p/60 (upscaled on DLSS to 1440p or 4k on TV) and 720/60 on OLED internal screen. The i/o also needs to be improved. Some MicroSD cards can read at 170MB/S but Switch doesn't read any faster than 80MB/S because of I/O bottleneck. I would like to see new Switch future proofed in that regard but at least doubling read speeds. In addition, a remodelled Tegra X1 needs to be in there for full native backcompat.

I think if Nintendo were ever to ditch the hybrid model, given how successful the Switch has been, and WHY it's been successful (which surely they know the reason, right?) it'd have to be to make a home and mobile console that are somehow connected. Like, suspend your game at home, send it to the mobile device, and keep playing. This way, they don't have to necessarily sacrifice on power, and they can still have some games that are home console only, and some that are mobile only to take advantage of touch controls (unless the mobile console could double as a controller, but I don't see that happening).
Given how Nintendo's been trying to get the mobile/handheld union off the ground since the GameCube and GameBoy Advance with the GBA player, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did go through with an ecosystem type approach with their next console. Having a home and handheld console that are truly connected, and supporting swapping game sessions between them, would be a big boost to Nintendo's marketability. Assuming the home console is actually adequately powered, which we all know their track record on THAT front...

1) You have a new subscriber
2) I thought the OLED would be the successor until the next couple of years. I enjoy the OLED and if I want to play a newer game with better frame rate, I’ll just load it up on my PS5 or Xbox series X

I just thought what could be the Switch 2 (S2)'s gimmick, and it wouldn't have to be a game-changer: what if the Dock also functioned as a projector. That way, if you're a kid that can't play on the family's living room TV, you could still play in your room with a blank white wall and turn off the lights.
And maybe this projector could be used for Nintendo Online DS downloadable games (projector as the top screen, S2 console as the bottom screen. Alternate them whenever you want.)
You're an adult with a TV, no problem, skip the projector and use both screens.
The only downside is that this will drain the battery on your console a lot if both screens are needed for the particular game.
The Switch doesn't have many games (that I can think of) that required the use of the console's touch screen. If the DS line of games are to come on the S2, I can see that feature to stay. If not, then get rid of it.
Projector idea would be cool, but I wonder how much it would cost, I doubt that many people would be satisfied with 720p resolution unless they could make variuos version of docks.
@@Kunigunda897 True, and I don't know how well projector technology has gotten (without the dock looking like three bricks taped together), I just thought it would be cheaper than a foldable screen console, force feedback gloves, or a Star Wars hologram jk
My concept of the successor to Switch:
For the name, they can use ‘Nintendo Attach & Switch’ I think it’s gonna be a hybrid console. However keeping the old feature don’t mean not having new feature, they can have a attach rail for a extra screen or a camera. The screen can be attached to the console and detached when docked, even a 3D screen. For the cameras, there are two, one front and one back for AR which is more mature than VR. VR capability can be added later on via VR headpiece using the rail to reduce cost. The graphics will be 1440p60 docked with NO 4K support at launch and 1080p60 in handheld. One of the most non-beloved part of the switch is the UI. I suggest different applications like the Wii, WiiU, DSi and 3DS like world new and weather. The concept of it is known by anyone in the smartphone age. I think Nintendo need to revive the Miis like Mytendo. Not only that is not associated with Wii anymore, also have clothes that can be earned in game, a more Nintendo way of achievement. The cloth can have customisable Colour base on the colour you chose in the ‘my favourite’ section. It would also be great for a music and photo editing app like back then and even a Nintendoverse as the approach to a meta verse with Mytendos and also have game room for game community. You may also use the 2D ‘chat view’ like Miiverse. There is also a poll room like back in Wii and you can draw picture and have stamp collected in game too.
@Angus Johnson It’s not ‘appealing’ enough to the causal

Gimmick Switch 3D? :P
Topics like these make me frustrated sometimes because you can have the most elaborate responses to someone and absolutely zero way to share it with someone other than cringe RUclips comments, oh well!
Nintendo merged both their home console and handheld divisions entirely so going back to two devices is unlikely at best, impossible at worst and furukawa is one of the safest CEOs I have ever seen he is no where near as experimental or as bold as iwata so the hybrid approach is absolutely not going away under his management they haven’t made any moves to imply their internal development structure is shifting back to support anything that isn’t a hybrid console, in the case of power the absolute best they could do is honestly a 5-6x uplift before battery life goes down the drain, as in less than V1 battery. That bad. Which sounds massive and it is. But that would still put it at 60% of the series S’s performance when docked and a lot of people seem to think that’s “disappointing” despite the form factor being so slim so in that case Yknow where to place your expectations as for gimmicks I honestly think either “none” (I would personally hate this) or a 3DS style gimmick that stacks ontop and you can toggle on/off freely, I like those cute touches, honestly your real concern should be “will it stand out?” Because that really is hard to guess. They have a reputation for bad naming schemes after all, what if they reuse the same controllers? Etc. I don’t think the hardware itself will disappoint just what’s around it

Why be concerned over something that doesn't exist?
It wouldn't be a switch if it lost its Hybrid Versatility.......they definitely are calling it switch 2

What? I just said it was my favorite Nintendo system in this video, I said it right here 2:22 😭
@@Xenokayoh okay I spoke too soon but, but, you did say it was like the Wii U compared to the wii. I’m getting mixed signals
I’ve said that Nintendo has a track record where when they see success with one system, they then go on and make mistakes when the next one releases. The success of the DS had played a role in Nintendo making some really not so intelligent decisions when the 3DS launched. Such as the high price and the lack of big first party titles when it released and Nintendo believing it would still sell well at launch because it was the sequel system to the DS. Thus why I brought that up alongside the Wii to Wii U comparison, where it is pretty obvious where Nintendo went wrong when it came to that system. Hopefully that clears it up, apologies for any misunderstandings :P
@@Xenokayoh nah you’re good, I kinda realized that as I was watching the video. You were comparing the gimmicks and not the consoles themselves. You have a great weekend stay safe. This was a great video!

Watch them go with amd x86 to make more money and screw their customers more by getting rid of backwards compatibility the hacked 3ds and wii u was peak its only been downhill for nintendo since steamdeck and killing off pro smash bros smash and pokemon are the only reason they are even relevant in the industry anymore
Bro that take was almost as hot as Ryan Ross
idk but why pokemon tho?
How would AMD x86 make them even a single penny more than what they make right now? That absolutely makes zero sense lmao.
Lowkey praying on nintendo's downfall so they're forced to make good decisions in order to make sales 💯
