So much so that it never occurred to me that Dimebag Darrell was the guitar player for Pantera, one of my favorite bands ever. It's only been since I started playing that I finally put it all together. I'm also sober today. But my point is that since I've finally made the connection, I've come to realize that Dime is a HUGE part of why I play guitar today. Since I've realized this, I've been reading all I can about Dime. And the 1 thing I keep seeing is that he was a hell of a great dude. Had a heart as big as Texas and absolutely loved doing things for his fans, friends & loved ones. He loved giving away guitars and amps and pedals and other gear to people just to see the smiles on their faces when they were like "MAN THIS IS FRIGGIN *COOL* DIME! THANK YOU! 😲😁🙏🤘" And now, I can honestly say that today, Dime is one of my favorite people ever. Not just favorite guitar players. But favorite human beings. And it's because of that reason: he was *such a good dude.* Even after becoming the biggest metal band in the world, he still seemed like a normal azz guy. Just a regular dude that made it big.
